    Lightbulb

The doctor told me this before and I passed on the message to you, but somehow I have overlooked his words of wisdom and I just bumped into this information again and thought I would re-share.

With dieters drinking large amounts of water, and especially with Phen users (due to cotton mouth) and large intake of fluid, it is imparative to also raise your potassium intake:

    Mineral : POTASSIUM
    Why it is needed

Essential for muscles, nerves and heart. Aids in proper maintenance of mineral balance of blood, as well as stable blood pressure. Works with sodium to regulate the body's water balance.

    Other Information

Regulates heartbeat, maintains fluid balance and helps muscles contract. Lack of this vitamin will cause mineral imbalance leading to severe and constant headaches.

I have heard this before, especially when I was new on Phen the headaches came all to often. Keep the water intake high but be sure to add potassium.

    Where it is found

Vegetables (especially green leafy) , oranges, whole grains, sunflower seeds, potatoes (especially peels), and bananas.

    Thumbs up

    Thanks Mom2....

I've noticed more headaches as the temps get hotter and I sweat a lot more which in turn makes me drink more water. That explains a lot. I just checked my One-A-Day and it contains only 3% of the daily recommended amount of potassium. Guess I'll go out on my lunch hour and get a potassium supplement.

    Thanks again for the info.

    Glad I could help,

Ladies dont eat too many banana's or you will get "backed up". That is just one of the other wonderful side effects that Phen can cause.

    Thanks!
Thats great to know! I wanted to add another great sorce of pottasium. Lite Salt. Its made by the same people that make reg. salt and in the same isle at the grocery store. Not only will you get potassium from it but if you are used to sprinkling your food with salt and use this instead, you'll eat less salt. Make sense? Or did that sound as crazy as I think it did?

A great source of potassium is cantaloupe. One cup has 494 mg compared to 450 for a banana. Thanks for the info. on using potassium as a remedy for headaches. I was thinking that my headache was due to the heat, etc., but I think it is probably a deficit in potassium.

It's amazing you brought this up. I was having a headache this afternoon that felt like a heat-induced one but I hadn't got hot enough to warrant it. So, I'm sitting here reading your post while drinking a can of V8 (780mg potassium/70 calories) and noticed OH MY GOSH MY HEADACHE IS GONE!. So I'm definately buying some potassium, Thanks a lot for the advice!!!

Clara I wonder what the leg cramps are from??? I have had those on occasion and sometimes feel like my leg and even sometime arm circulation is poor. Now these effects I have found no cure for though.

Actually, the leg cramps can be caused by a lack of postassium as well!!

Are YOU getting enough potassium, Chandra??? HMMMMMMMM??? LOL

Also, a lot of people get leg cramps from not having enough water. You may need to drink even more than you already are... that also might account for that feeling of having "poor circulation" in your arms!!
