I have had this insane craving for pizza for like a week now. I have not giving in but soon I am afraid I am going to.

I have not had any in erm like 8 or 9 weeks I think and i like the veggie ones with a lil cheese and not much sauce. I am thinking about trying to make one because the real reason I am scared of eating it is not for me I have control but my husband has to diet for the military and he will not stop at 1 or 2 pieces. he will stop when it is gone.

Anyone have a good recipe or idea?? HELP! I need my pizza ! lol

Thumbs up
Do you have a bread machine? If so, I have a really good recipe for pizza crust, and you can use whole wheat flour.

I use Boboli (I'm sure I spelled that wrong, but I don't have any right now to check ) brand sauce. One package for a small pizza, two for a large. You can add pretty much any veggie you want and a lowfat cheese.

If you want to make a garlic chicken pizza (all the rage her in Boise) the sauce is actually ranch salad dressing with several diced up cloves of garlic mixed in, let the dressing set over night then make your pizza......roasted chicken, diced up, veggies, and low fat cheese.
Inch by inch, pound by pound, gonna get this body down!

HHMMMM...I have a good recipe but it's no where near fat free...or even low fat for that matter! Funny, i have been having a big pizza craving myself. My advice is if you are really craving it one or two days try to hold off with other things that satisfy you. If you are still having that strong continous craving go ahead and have some. Just watch your portions and drink water. If you are eating well the majority of the time and exercising it will not kill your diet. If you keep craving it and deprive yourself then you may end up binging which would be way worse. I know if i crave something or know we're having some kind of get together or going out to eat some night i will be really good all week long eating and exercising so i can afford to indulge a little. I still watch my portion and drink water but i let myself have that mexican food that i love. I haven't quit losing or gained any yet. Oh...sorry i don't have any suggestions for making your husband stop...maybe you could go do pizza for lunch with a friend.

I read your post wrong...i thought it said you DIDN'T like veggie pizza with little sauce and light cheese. Sorry, you can disregard my post! Can you make it and eat some while he's at work? Then set out two peices and hide the rest and tell him that's what's left, that you had a friend over for lunch or something. That way he won't be too tempted to eat the whole pizza. Otherwise i don't know how you can control how much he eats if he can't. Good luck and enjoy!

I love pizza !! But I never make it anymore because I wouldn't stop at one piece. Do you have a nearby store or pizza place that sells pizza by the slice? That is my suggestion, no left overs that way.

Didn't know if I could post here or should go to another spot but here it is:

Crust:
1 package dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. lite salt (optional)

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water, add sugar and let stand 10 minutes. Add remaining water, flour, and salt and beat very well until dough is completely smooth. Dough will be sticky but no kneading is required. Place dough in a bowl sprayed with a non-fat cooking spray. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour. Divide dough in half and let stand 10 mins. Dough will be very elastic. Roll out into two 8 inch circles.

Basic Sauce:
1 can Hunts Chunky Spaghetti Sauce
1 can tomato past (6oz)
1/2 lb ground whit meat skinless turkey, cooked and drained
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried thyme

Toppings:
1 (8oz ) can stems and peices mushrooms, drained
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup grated non-fat Alpine Lace mozzarella cheese
1 cup Sargento Lite Mozzarella cheese (2 fat g per ounce)

Place crust dough on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with a non-fat cooking spray. Spoon sauce mixture on top of the two crusts. Top with any combination of the above choices. Sprinkly your choice of cheese on top. Bake at 450F for 8-10 minutes.

Yeilds: 2 Pizzas (4 slices per pizza)

per slice
1.6 g fat Calories: 179 Protein: 5.7 g
7.38 mg Cholesterol Carbohydrate: 35.6 Sodium: 167mg

This must be the Pizza week or something I swear!!! 1st off you should all know I hate pizza, I grew up in a family pizza shop, literally, when I was months old my parents would bring me to work with them, all I have ever known is PIZZA! Everyone in my family has pizza shops, aunts uncle cousins.... friends of aunts uncles cousins. Anyway so this week all I have wanted is to eat a stupid slice of pizza!

I want a tomato pie x-tra well done! All week! there must be something in the air!
Weird don't you think?

If you're in NC (I lived there for about five years), this may be hard to find, but do you have any California Pizza Kitchens in your area? They tend to offer (besides stuff horrendously high in fat) healthier options since they largely cater to the granola crowd. The ones near me (though I'm in CA) offer Vegan options, which gets rid of the cheese and meat, for a really healthy pizza.

If you're worried about the hubby, you could either take him for the light pizza, or could go to get the pizza you're craving on your own so that he would not be exposed to the temptation?
