I have had a bad headache for like 5 days. Now I have a lump on the back of my head that feels like I have been hit with a baseball bat (couldn't even sleep w/ head touching pillow last night!). If my anatomy class serves my memory right, I would say its in the occipital region, most probably an enlarged lymph node, my question is...
What do I need to do for it? I really hate going to the doctor if it is something that might just go away on its own. What should I take for it?
I'm open for suggestions!
Send me a bill...

. I would say at least call your Dr's office and talk to his nurse and see if they want to see you. It sounds like something worth looking into just to be safe. Are you having any visual problems...dizziness, spots, blurry, etc? Any nausea or vomiting? I was going to say it could be an enlarged lymph node that is causing pressure somewhere but if it's the occipital region you don't have any lymph nodes there...not that you could feel anyway. Did you hit your head? I would take the Ibuprofen like Trip suggested for pain and inflammation and call your Dr. You can take 800 mg's every 8 hours. Anytime you have an ongoing headache like that it needs to be checked. Let us know how it turns out. I'd be interested to know what it is. Hope you feel better soon!
