    Question

Help, my Phen is less effective. I have been taking 30mg of phentermine for about 8 months and now like it says it is starting to be less effective. How long do I have to be off of it before I can take it again with any effectiveness? Is there anything else I can take in the interim, I have lost about 50 pounds in the last year and don't want to lose any ground to my goal.

There isn't a "standard amount of time" that would apply to everyone. Not everyone builds tolerance at the same rate either.
However, assuming you have taken Phen continuously for 8 mos, I would suggest stopping for at least 1-2 weeks...you could try a dose then to see. But you might need to "kick the habit" a month or so.

If that still doesn't help, consider going from 30mg to 37.5 mg Phen. Remember, continuous use means at some point, the Phen will not be effective.

If you are able to still get benefit from Phen, consider skipping a dose here and there and taking half doses on certain days. It will help delay tolerance.

Check this board too because there may be some other suggestions. Good luck!
