New Here, brand name vs generic

Hi,
I'm new here, I originally started Phen in July and did well with losing weight, but I had problems sleeping, so I stopped taking it, and gained the weight back, I had only lost about 10 pounds. I started taking it again around 10 days ago, and I have since started out with just half of a pill which is working and I plan to take the whole pill in the event I start getting too used to the half pill. This time I feel I will stay on it long enough to not only lose the weight, but learn to eat differently, and I've started one life long change by giving up coca~cola's! Water is my preferred drink now!
Could anyone tell me if there are any advantages in getting the brand name of phentermine versus the generic? I was prescribed Adipex-P 37.5, but figure if it is exactly the same, then I will get the generic form to save money.

everyone seems to react differently to different types and dosage so you will probably get lots of diff responses...

its seems that a lot of people dont like the generic...but there are a few people here who like the generic...

the diff is that the active ingredient is the same but all the fillers are diff in the generic...

sorry i have no straight answer for you..sometimes you just have to find the one that works for you !

I don't think there is any difference between the two except a lot of money. I'd save my money and use the generic.

Although it's hard to understand, the fillers and/or binders in generics do cause trouble for some people. I've had this problem with other meds. I always thought that cost was the only difference between generic and name brand. Not true. BUT - some people, me included thank goodness, can take generic phen with no problem at all! So, I guess you just have to give it a try.
