Personally I love it here. I came from CA. The cost of living is so much cheaper, the weather mild, the people are nice, and you are halfway between everything!..lol. Brenham would only be about an hour to an hour and a half from me so you would only be about 2 hrs from a cruise port..Galveston! and only about 7 hrs from New Orleans.another cruise port..lol. If you really wanted to push it and drive to Florida you could do it in one really long day.

    Nitra...Sweetie
    Can we talk?
    OMG......"the weather mild".
This is my BIGGEST complaint about Texas!
Do you call 99 plus degrees and 99 percent humidity for DAYS...and or MONTHS at a time mild weather??????????
What part of California are you from?

Girl...lean closer to the screen and let me feel your forehead....I believe you have a fever!
    LoL!

    And the state is TexAS!

Well I dont think it is that bad really. This summer I barely had to use the air. Now last year was a different story. Plus the heat and humidity only lasts a short time, the winters are mild. If you compare it all to Idaho..lol. Texas is a better choice!..

I mean ice cream and a cruise port! Sea's dream world!

I lived in San Diego and Ill take Texas over CA anyday!

Rena, those mesquitoes are fairly small, it's just that they travel in packs of 1,000! It just makes them look huge in a pack that large, I think that's for protection against all those citronella candles.

Oh man the skeeters eat me alive! lose you are right about them traveling in packs! Its to keep you from being able to kill them all! They sneak attack. One is the decoy while all the others go in for the kill!

    Sea,
I think you should come here because there are more phensters here than in Idaho. Or would that deter you from moving here?

WOW ! I always wanted to visit Texas but figured I might want to stay away cause my mom lived there and said there are HUGE bugs LOL.... I dont do , buggy wuggies !!! HAHA..... Everywhere is an option right now.... I am torn, my husband wants to continue on with his 30 years of employment with the same Company, I say its time to move on and start a " new life " away from that messed up place ! I dont know....Hence the reason to move to Idaho.... My cousin raises Llama's......last year, a mere 2.6 MILLION she made...... LOL..... so there are other options out there then my husbands soon to be EX company ! I dont know ! AHHHHH. My house right now is 2800 sq feet so I am looking for something about 4000 sq feet. Would that be big bucks In TX ?? I think I will head over to realtor . c o m to see

Sea I know a guy that lived in Northern CA, sold his 2000 sq ft house, took the money moved here and was able to buy a 4000 sq ft house for less money. I know there is no way in CA I would ever look at owning a home but here it is a possibility for me. I dont know how much a home in Brenham costs but if you go to the link I put up for you then you can check it out. I think they have a real estate link there.

I knew the cruise port and ice cream would get you..hehe.
