    Question

I am now on phen and losing weight. People are asking what I am doing. I say watching what I eat and exercising (which isn't a lie). But I always leave out the Phen. No one but a really close friend and my husband know I'm taking it. I don't know why I don't want people to know what I'm using but I think it's because I don't want them to know I don't have the will power to do it myself and I'm ashamed of that.
Is there anyone else out there that keeps phen use private??
    Thanks, Jennifer

    Jennifer,

What you do to lose weight is your own business. The only time I talk about the phen is if I feel like I might be able to help some one else. If I am speaking to someone who might benefit from phen, I tell them.

I too have felt bad that I could not do it on my own. It all comes down to the fact that as long as it is legal, I'm just glad its getting done! What we are going through is hard and beating ourselves up over it does not make it any easier. Please do not be ashamed. You have made a serious commitment to make a change in your life. You are to be applauded for that. So many people will talk forever about something they want to do. You are doing it. Go for the things you want. Who cares what anyone else thinks?

    Best of Luck

If you're wrong, I'm wrong! My theory is that if I could have done it on my own, I would have done it on my own. Nobody knows I'm on phen- not even my hubby. It's my body and my decision, and I don't want to have people judge me or my reasons for taking it. You aren't alone.

    Hi there,
This isn't to bash you or anything just my opinion since you asked.

First of all it is great you are losing weight and you should be very proud of yourself, even with meds it still is a lot of work!

As for not telling people when they ask you what you are doing to lose weight...
If someone sincerely asks what you are doing to lose weight I think it is best to tell them the whole truth(if it is not a busy body) because maybe they are asking for the knowledge to help someone else. By not telling it perpetuates the feeling of negativity/shame. The meds don't chose what you put into your mouth, or do your workouts(YOU DO), but they do aid you. YOU SHOULDN'T FEEL ASHAMED.

I have struggled with my weight all of my life and have always asked those who were losing weight what they were doing to lose it and the answer was always diet and exercise, but now that I have discovered Phen(through the internet)I wonder how many of those left out this type of important information. Those on other types of diet programs aren't embarrassed and you shouldn't be either.

If phen is the thing that helps you to get to a better you, then there is nothing to be ashamed about, and don't let anyone try to make you feel ashamed YOU ARE DOING THE WORK!

I can see that I am the only one that seems to share my opinion but as for me I am spreading the news so that others may benefit from Phen

    Good Luck to further success!

I've told very few people that I take Phen. I really don't think it's anyone's business. I don't tell them other personal things about myself. My husband, son, daughter, sister, and one good friend know about the Phen, and of course ALL of you. I also don't want to waste my time trying to defend what I do with my life.

I had planned not to tell people about my Phen use, but I read a post the first week that I started Phen and it made some sense. If something were to happen to you and you couldn't speak for yourself, who would be able to tell the emergency personnel you were on Phen. Phen may not interact well with other drugs, and the doctors need to know everything you are on.

I've only told one person... my officemate. I figure that since I don't discuss any OTHER meds that I'm taking with other people, why should I feel obliged to tell them about this.

If there is a concern about perhaps an emergency situation, maybe keep a list of meds you are taking stuck in your purse or billfold somewhere.

I have told a couple of people. Those I know will not judge and lecture. Personally I dont think it is anyones business and I have not told many I am even on a diet. No one has commented on my loss but I have a lot to lose so I am not worried. In my profile is a pic of me in San Diego Im wearing a turquois leather skirt, just 3 weeks ago I could not get this skirt on. I feel my world is my business along with my choices. I do not have to feel ashamed but it is also no ones business unless I make it their business.

If you want to tell someone then tell them, if not then dont but dont do it out of shame. Do it because you chose.

I have been taking it for years and only tell people I take it if I feel like they would benifit from it. Its not like it is a bad thing to take. It helps me feel better about myself and if it can help someone else I don't see why they shouldn't know about it. Now if a skinny girl I went to high school asks too bad. She doesn't need to know.

Well, I would say do what you feel is right for you. A lot of people in this world pass judgement for no reason other than they are not used to something that is out there...so they equate Phen use with drug use...it's stupid. The only people that know are my girlfriend and my sister. My mother wasn't happy that I was on it a few years ago. She is a big believer in the "work hard" ethic, that no one needs Phen, you just need more help. Both my parents get up at the crack of dawn (my dad at 4am!) and go to the health club. Why didn't I get that discipline? LOL. I'm happier with only a couple of people knowing, because this is my business, I am losing weight for ME and no one else.

    ***ie***ie,
I was interested when you said you have been taking it for years. Do you take it on and off, do you see doctor, or order online, have you maintained weight loss? I've only taken it for two weeks and I have a lot of questions! Maybe you can help!

I only told my best friend in case something strange happened. But then I decided to tell my boyfriend - bc last time I took it after about a month I got a little, shall we say, b*i*t*c*h*y. The reaction I got from him made me not want to tell anyone else.
