    Hi,

Has anyone had an experience on the above. I have been taking Phen for the past three weeks. My Dr at the diet clinic has moved me to these Diethyl...... tablets because he feels I should be losing more weight. I've been given the 75mg time release tablets. They might also be known as Tenuate?

Has anyone taken these before and if so, did you make any progress or is the Phen def. better.

I'd appreciate your thoughts and experiences. Any feedback will be very well received.

    thanks again.

    Hey Kipe!!!

I started on phen on 9/3/01 and couldnt get on with them. They did suppress my appetite but they made me feel uncomfortably 'yukky'...so, I went back to the clinic and asked for diethylpropion 75mg.(tenuate). I had taken these before (about 9 years ago and they worked wonders) so I was Yippee about getting them again!! (thought they had been withdrawn)...so, 3 days into the diethylpropion and, hey, fine!! No yukky feeling but no hunger feeling either!!

    Hope this helps!!

    Brit,

Thanks for your post. Good to hear from you again.

I hadn't heard of these new tablets before which is why I wanted to run it by all the guys here. I'd previously taken Adifax about 6 years ago and lost about 50 lbs in 3months. Drawback was they were only ever issued for 3 months use - and have since been removed from the market for the past 5-6 years.

Anyway, great to hear you had excellent success on them before and have just started to take them again. It would be great if you would let me know how you're progressing, perhaps we could share our success etc.

I didn't have any of the symptoms everyone's had on the Phen i.e. the zoom zoom, sleeplessness etc. I a way I felt cheated like I was missing out (if you know what I mean)

Please keep in touch, it's great to see a fellow Brit here. It's so motivating to know that someone else has either 'been there and done it' or knows someone who has.

    xx

    Hi Kipe,
    I took Tenuate many years ago...like 25!!!!!

My docotor never gave me a diet plan or instructions. Here. Just take one of these. It was like, the pills were supposed to be "magic" or something...yeah, make 30 lbs just disappear!! LOL.. Anyway, I never felt an energy rush....and I still got hungry!!! BUT...when I started to eat, I got full pretty fast. It amazed me, really. I would eat only half my lunch and feel just fine. I wasn't upset at all the other food around me that I shouldn't eat. The thing is, my overeating tendency was not related to hunger. After a week or so, I would eat whether I was hungry or not!! I was thinking (HOPING) the "magic" pills would still make me loose weight.......NOT!!!!! So, after a couple weeks, I went back to the doctor...he read me the riot act for loosing and then re-gaining the weight( the doc NEVER ASKED what happened or anything...just made me feel like a fat bag of crap who will never loose weight, even with diet pills)

So anyway, I'm SURE you'll do much better. I might even get some Tenuate at some point; it can have value controlling appetite, without causing insomnia or any "hyper" feelings.

    Hey Kipe!!!!

Its a pity we cannot post our e-mail addresses eh?

Yesterday, when it was time to eat, I ate a toasted cheese sandwich, and I promise you I struggled. I felt 'stuffed' after half of it.
(I can usually down *2* with a bag of crisps and still go hunting!).
    This actually amazed me.
Later in the evening, when it was 'proper' dinner time...ie, when we all have our meal together... we had coq u vin (sp)...I had mine with rice...I had one chicken breast and lots of mushrooms....I took 3 mouthfuls and HAD to leave it. I couldnt manage any more. Again, I was very pleasantly amazed.
When I remember taken Tenuate Dospan before, I DID have the 'zoom' thing and sleepless nites, however, I never had the 'full' feeling after eating...if that makes sense.
This time round, I have not encountered the same 'zoom' or the sleepless nites.
In my opinion the properties in them must have changed. I know the 'powers that be' are afraid of the 'zoom' effect on patients (because of the potential heart valve problems lurking) so maybe they have 'done' something to them.
I can live without the 'zoom' and definately the sleepless nites, I am more than happy with the 'full' feeling they give me too.
So far I have lost a over a stone, but that was with phen aswell, so, when I weigh in again next week I will let you know.
I still have a long way to go tho, another 35lbs approx. My target is the end of June.
If I have lost 28lbs by the end of June I will be very happy....let me know your target.
It would be great for us to keep in contact!!
    take care kipe
