Today I went out to cut the yard and I noticed my neighbors flowers had been chopped up..She has these at the end of her yard...As soon as I saw all this mess I got a really bad feeling. So I get off the mower and go question my kids and sure enough my three boys decided to chop them up last evening while no one was looking. SO DOES ANYONE WANT SOME FREE BOYS. I have decided to keep my baby girl. She is still young. But these boys are driving me nuts.
I dont even know what to say to the lady next door. She spent so much time out there now how do I tell her?!?!!

Please come by and get the free boys!!!

Well I dont have kids but my mom would have made me go over and apologize and offer to do chores or whatever to repay. If you give them allowance maybe make them pay for new ones for her from that. They need to learn responsibility for their actions.

If they are too young to do that at least make them go over and fess up and apologize.

Thumbs up
I agree. Make them replant the flowers and care for them so they know how much love and care go into such things as lawn care. When I was younger (10?) I stayed with my grandad a lot. His neighbor lady had the most beautiful flowers you've ever seen. I wanted to pick some for my grandad and I started to just take them but being raised right I knew I should ask, well when I did the lady said she saw me from the window and wondered if I would ask or just take them (as lots of people did). She said I did the right thing and she helped me make a big beautiful arrangement for Granddad. I never forgot that and was always glad I did the right thing.
Sorry it's so long, but it's a wonderful memory..................Jennifer

I would tell your boys they need to go next door and tell the lady that they cut her flowers and what can they do to repay her in some way, the sheer embarrasment having to fess up would have been enough to straighten me up.

...or you could just pack up in the middle of the night and sneak out of town.

Just kidding. The boys need to 'fess up and learn to be gardeners for awhile. Maybe by replanting and caring for her flowers, they'll realize how much time and care goes into making something beautiful. Walking in her gardening shoes for awhile might make them appreciate the work and belongings of others. Your boys actually sound a lot like mine! You just have to love 'em!!!

Just remember Rocha, years from now when they are full grown, you will all look back at this "event" and laugh.
Have them apologize, and replant. That should stop any repeat occurances.

I too have 3 boys, ages 9 6 and 5!! And even though they haven't pulled that stunt yet there have been others. Don't you just love 'em.

I think making them confess to their actions, no matter what their ages is the first place to start. See what ideas your neighbor has to make up for what they did. Just the embarrassment of confessing alone will teach them a very big lesson. Make them do what ever your neighbor has in mind, and they will learn even more.

Good Luck! I am feelin the pain right with ya.
