    Question

I've only seen capsules but I'm looking for tablets or something I can split in half (so I can start with a very low dose). Does anyone make that, or is there a lower-dose phen sold?

The only pills I know of are 37.5 << don't get those. The rest are capsules. 15 mg is a pretty low dose to start with. I know there is that phentermetrazine or however it's spelled, that isn't as strong as regular phen even though the mg's are higher. My friend takes those, she started out with 35 mg...it wasn't strong enough. She is up to 110 mg-----seems like a lot, but she's no different than I am on 30 mg of phen. I don't know if I helped at all...sorry.

    Cool

Oh...one thing you could try is the 37.5 adipex. It comes in tablet form---it's expensive, but it does come in pill form & you could always split that up into thirds or fourths so that you have a very low dose. I know someone on here that splits it up & only needs to take 1/4 of it a day.

Phentermine is the generic form of Adipex...pretty much the same thing...except those 37.5 generic white phentermine tablets are evil...lol. I know others like them, but I think there are more of us that don't like them at all. Stick with the Adipex 37.5 if you want the good stuff.

    Hi Michele,

    Welcome to phenlandia!!!!!

I take the 15 mg capsules in the generic form. (I'm not recommending generic as compared to the brand name - they are what I was initially given in the "diet doctor's" office and since they work fine for me I have not explored other options).

Mine are not time released so I think the suggestion I am posting is medically sound. I haven't asked a medical person, and I'm not one myself so be forewarned.

I sometimes split my capsule in half by pulling it apart and pouring half the contents into an empty capsule. Empty capsules can be purchased at places like a health food store, perhaps some drug stores or maybe GNC? (I got mine at a herb/vitamin store here in Philadelphia). You can even find non-geletin ones if you don't want to ingest that substance.

This methodology is inexact - I'm sure one dose is a bit higher than the other but I also think the amount is too small to matter. I am currently taking a break from phentermine and this is how I ramped down last week.

I also saw a post where the person suggested pouring half the contents into juice or onto applesauce but I'm not comfortable with that approach.

Jen is right 15 is a VERY low dose. If you have a low tolerance for drugs like me you may find it to be plenty. If it turns out not to be sufficient you can always increase your dose. From what I have read it is more difficult to have satisfactory results going from a higher dose to a lower dose than the other way around.

    Hope this helps.

    Best wishes,

    Abbi
