I have been on phen this time for about 2 months and have lost 9 pounds I dont think thats so bad,but its not so good either,I take 30mgs. in the am and 30 in the afternoon I have to go weigh in in a couple of hours and I'm so nervous I can't sleep and I just feel like a little kid when I get in his office, anything under 5 pounds he frowns at thats every 2 weeks.I like the pills but dread going to the doctor, considering ordering online but never have before any help on finding cheapest reliable site that comes to Akron,Ohio would be helpfull.

    Casey,
If our paying $9.00 a month for 37.8 mg pills, you're being taken. I hope your finger hit the wrong number. There are no 37.8 mg pills or capsules.

    Kathyinrno,
I found that pharmacy about 6 weeks ago. I was looking last week for it but couldn't find it. I forgot about the medinfo part. That is a great price! I did find this other one. I don't want to say the name in the forum because Phentermine.com doesn't want to act like they're advertising for on-line pharmacies. I can respect their decision about this. A lot of states are trying to shut down the on-line pharmacies. I think New Jersey is the latest. Texas will sit on her but for awhile. The man that runs this state has been out of town campaigning. Lucky us!

Back to my story.............I found this on-line pharmacy last week. Now get this, they even have an address listed on their web site. I paid going price ($249.00) for 90, 37.5 mg tablets. Shipping was included in this price. I ordered on 4/4, they confirmed this via E-mail. They shipped on 4/5, confirmed by E-mail also. I received on 4/7. Does everyone's phentermine come in a 11x14 bubble wrap mailer (cute bag)? Here's the best part, they sent me the name brand Adipex-P. I really don't care about the name brand since I know that it's the same as the generic's, but it does cost more. A lot of on-line pharmacies list Adipex-P seperate from phentermine. They charge a bunch more. This place also sent a little post-it note that had the pharmicist name and telephone number. It said I could call anytime for a free consultation. All of this made me feel a little better about paying $249.00 for $7.00 worth of phentermine.

Robin, if I am being taken I am being taken I am being taken 45 pounds lighter because that is what I have lost. When I began I weighed 225 and now I weigh 180. I am a student and we have a special health facility on campus which means we get all of our medication very cheap. I go through a dr. for a prescription and a certified pharm. for the pills. On the bottle it says 37.8 mg of phentermine and the pills are white with blue specks. So I don't think I am being taken anywhere except to a smaller size

    Cassey,
I didn't know it was you. I'm not trying to piss you off. I just thought you made a type-o I'm not questioning if your pills are real or not. It's the strength that's odd. You see, the FDA doesn't show any manufacturing company holding an approved application for Phentermine HCL 37.8 mg pills or tablets. Furthermore, the 11 companies that do hold an application only show these strenghts: 8mg, 15mg, 18.75mg, 30mg, & 37.5mg.

    Casey22,
It's ok. I'm riding my broom today. I have two boys and a chubby husband that are going to feel my wrath just as soon as I see them. I don't like for them to wear their shoes inside because it dirties the carpet (learned this from mommy dearest). We all take our shoes off at the door in the garage. This doesn't mean we're suppose to leave them there. I couldn't even get out of this door today without falling over a stupied pair of shoes. Only one pair is mine. I was so tempted just to pick them up and fling them into the trash can. I was already in a mood because today was doctor day. A 1.9 pound loss is not enough for me to get over this shoe thing. I even put a shoe rack in the garage for them. My family better shape up or they'll be going bare-foot.

    Tracie,
Reading your post brought humor to my day. Dr. ******** would have taken my phen. away along time ago. Do you like this guy? Is he a good doctor? I can't believe this man condemns you for only losing 9 pounds in 2 months. I might be able to understand if you weigh 250+. How much do you weigh? I think 5 pounds a month is excellent, with or without the help of phentermine. You do not ****! Don't let this man make you feel guilty over what you haven't lost. Now this is just my opinion but I think an ideal goal would be around 1 pound a week. Anything more and I would be worried about possibly gaining it back. The harder and longer it takes me to lose, the more I appreciate my accomplishment. I do get discouraged when I'm active & trying so hard. I was a little ticked yesterday about only dropping 1.9 pounds. Could my doctor get a more accurate scale? (You should have seen my reaction the day his scale was accidentally set on kilograms.) I feel better about my weight loss today. A month was going to pass regardless if I lost weight or not. That gives me a grand total of 6.? pounds since January. I have went from 22% body fat to 19%. Only 2% more and my legs will quit jiggling.

You said you were given Tartrate. Could this be Phendimetrazine Tartrate? Tartrate is not a drug. The word tartrate has to do with the chemical making of the drug. Kind of like the hydrochloride name that follows phentermine. Phendimetrazine Tartrate is an appetite suppressant. It's different from phentermine but that doesn't mean it's any safer or better. Call Dr. ******** & find out what he gave you. Don't let him upset you. Just ask him what the heck he gave you. CHEER UP! YOU HAVE LOST 10 POUNDS.

Robin, I am curious what size you are if you don't mind me asking you very thin already. What did you start at and where are you headed. I understand that weightloss accomplishments are very personal to some people so if you do not want to share that is fine I was just curious????

    Casey,
I started at 6 pounds, 8 oz. I started putting on weight the day I was born. I was a chubby kid from ages 6-16. I dieted all through my 20's. I had to eat less then 1000 calories to maintain 135 pounds. In 11/93 I started taking phentermine. I weighed 149 then. I got down to 128 (with 24% body fat) in about 9 weeks. I quit takin phentermine for a couple of months in the summer of 94. Over the next couple of years I exercised atleast 3 days a week and ate less than 800 calories a day. I started to gain weight. Seems impossible but its true. I had my metabolism so out of whack from all those years of dieting. About 2 years ago a weighed 149 again. My body fat % was now at 28%. If there were days when I didn't exercise I would diet instead. BIG MISTAKE! For the last two years I've been trying to eat more and exercise every day. It took about a year before I could eat 1000 calories with out gaining. I now weigh 138 with 19% body fat. I'm 5'7, 36-26-37. I were a size 8. I eat about 1500 calories a day and limit my fat to 15-20 grams. I exercise every day. 30-45 minutes on a stair climber and 15-30 minutes of weights. I haven't gained weight in a while, but it's taken years to get my body back in shape. And yes, I still take phentermine.

WOW you sound like you are in great shape from previous messages I had assumed that you were bigger. Do you plan to take phentermine on a permanent basis. My Dr. told me that some people do. I was curious about that becuase I think that I may have to.

You're on phendimetrzine. I've been on it for the last week. My doctor switched almost all of his patients to it because of the difficulty in getting phentermine right now. He has used it in the past for patients who weren't getting good results from phentermine or who were experiencing the more troublesome side effects of phentermine.

Here's my experience. I feel about the same on this medication than I did on phentermine. The first couple of days on it I did have insommnia, but that seems to have reversed. It also seems to be more effective in suppressing my appetite than phentermine, but that could be that this is new med and I haven't built up a tolerance. The thing that I have noticed more than anything is that I feel full at a meal much more rapidly. Example, I went to breakfast yesterday morning with a friend. We weren't eating until 10:30 so I thought that I would have a combo breakfast/lunch. I ordered two eggs, a bagel and my friend and I were to share a plate of potato pancakes. I finished 1 egg, 1/4 of the bagel and 1 bite of potato pancake. I was stuffed. I wasn't remotely hungry when I ate dinner at 6:00. I made myself eat a grilled chicken breast and some salad and felt stuffed again. I'm reasonably sure when I get used to this medication that this will stop.

    What's your experience?

    Jen,
We never stay on the subject. Must be from all that phentermine use. When you're posting a reply, look to the left of the reply box. Click on "Smiles Legend" I was always too afraid to try. I thought my post would end up looking like, :;;;:: or something. I want to know if these smiles will work outside of the forum. Carolyn, I'm going to e-mail you some smiles. Isn't it time for you to take a break at work? Let me know if you get the smiles.

I am finally going to the docs tommorrow for my first checkup after starting phen. My doc is pretty cool but i still hate to go. I would rather get a big shot on the butt then to have to step on their scale. And why does it seem that doctors scales always seem like they weigh you more ? According to my scale at home I really havent lost much weight since I started phen. but I do feel like my pants are a little bit loose. I think I may be putting on some muscle so that may be why my scale is not going down. I only work out 1-3 days a week at the gym. And its only for 1-2 hours. but since i didnt ever workout befor Jan. of this year I guess I could be putting on some muscle (make sense?) Anyways, hope all goes well tommorrow with the doc. felt a little funny today on phen. Went to the mall to buy some shoes for my son and I just felt really spacy. Felt like I really needed to concentrate on what I was doing so that people wouldnt look at me weird. Maybe the phen is just making me paranoid.
I am so thankful for this sight!!!! I look forward to coming here everyday and reading whats going on out in the world of phen users. It is great encouragement and great support.

Robin- Sounds like you are taking Phentermine as more of a maintenence drug, but I'm getting all sorts of different information here. Is it safe to take Phentermine longer that 12 weeks? Believe me I'm willing to do what ever it takes! This is my first time on Phentermine. I am 6' tall and weighed 198 when I finally got online and ordered Phentermine. ( I feel most comfortable at the 145 range) I started taking Phentermine March 20th and have lost 20#. But I am curious if I should consider that I might be taking this drug for the rest of my life. Other than the dry mouth, I haven't experienced any other side effects other than feeling really "in tune" or focused. Thanks for reading, I've been evesdropping since March and wanted to get in on the disscussion! PS How can I spell check this damn thing?

    Air,
Go to the "ROBIN" topic. (I hate my name being a topic.) Look at Deno's and Stewart's post. They both have been taking phentermine for awhile. I use it for maintenance, I guess. Don't know if I'm losing or maintaining. I just know I'm not wanting to gain. My doctor never brings up quitting. Works for me! There is no spell check. You can't bold or underline either. I've even tried pasting from MS Word. I think I'm going to complain to phen.com about this.

    Tracie,
Do you still have any of that cake left? Did it have cream cheese icing? YUM I wish I had a suggestion "on how to get guilt free ME-TIME." I think some times you just have to take it. You notice how fathers/husbands never worry about "free time." I don't think I've ever heard my husband use the word GUILT. When my kids' were real little it was so hard to find time to exercise. My youngest would sit by the treadmill and watch me walk. I felt so guilty seeing those little tears run down his face. Hubby would be in the other room watching TV and waiting for me to hurry up and make dinner. I hated this! It was hard enough to force myself to exercise, especially when I was feeling guilty and pissed at couch-potato man. I decided to blow-off the treadmill for awhile. I got some Richard Simmon's (nobody laugh) tapes. The kids liked these. They could work out with me. I didn't get that good of an exercise but atleast I didn't feel guilty and my children were happy. My kids' are 12 and 8 now. Life's a heck of a lot easier. Hubby has put on some pounds over the years from all that TV watching. I tease him and tell him, "The bigger you get, the better I look standing next to you." I think it's funny but he doesn't laugh. I hope your husband helps out some. Most men just don't understand. Try to make time for yourself. I know it's hard but you need some time. Good luck with Dr. ******** today. AND THANKS FOR USING THOSE SMILES. Now we're all using them.

Hi all! thanks for the great advise Robin i keep telling myself their only baby's once and one day I'll be fighting for their attention and I'm only 28 and have the rest of my life for ME-TIME and losing weight and dieting ,and all that sounds really Hallmark but for real I want it all and I want to be skinny while I'm young and I just want total support from my husband, don't get me wrong he is a great guy, skinny too, he has never said one word about my weight but I know he would much rather prefer me thin he just would never hurt my fellings by telling me that plus it would probely piss me off.I just wish he would be alittle more understanding of me he thinks fat people should'nt get hungry like thin ones and if you want to lose weight you should just stop eating and start exercising and presto it all gose away and I know he don't relize it but it really makes me look like an dip **** when he thinks it's that easy to lose weight, oh well some day maybe he will have a skinny wife and hopfully it's me!!!lol

Tracy: If I may give you a little bit of insight to my thoughts on "taking a little time for yourself". You guys think you have guilt for putting aside the kids to exercise or sit in a hot bath (ALONE)? I am queen of guilt! However, in years to come when your kids remember their childhood, what are they going to remember? Their mother constantly exercising and trying to eat right. Leaving them in the car while you go in and have a drink at the local bar is not the same thing (I take mine in with me...JUST KIDDING). Having your kids watch you take care of yourself is going to instill a healthy attitude. Even if you don't get skinny, kids learn by example. And isn't that a wonderful example you'd like them to carry with them when they get older? I have a 20-minute aerobics tape (I only have 45 minutes betweeen the hours of midnight and 5 a.m.)and I beg my family to not bother me for that 20 minutes 'cause I don't want to lock the door (my husband is the worst) and I feel badly but I think they will understand later. Hubby still wants to carry on a conversation. I'm sorry...I tend to rattle on.

    Carolyn,
I tried that begging thing. It didn't work. I warn them now. The boys always pick this time to get into a fight. You know how easy it is for my temper to go up when my heart rate is already at 160? I can jump off that stepper, spank two kids, and be back to exercising in less than 30 seconds.

    Question

I find it very hard for me time also. I have to wake-up at 5:00AM. just to do my work-out. I have two small children 1 2years old and the other 4 months, oh yeah and did I forget the other one who is 28 years of age ( He is the worst of all )I am so not use to being this size 12 and I just went a little overboard with the food durning my last pregnacy. My husband wants for me to loose the weight, however at the same time he wants for it not to interfere with his time or the 1 second of extra time he might have to get up and fed our son because I am not finish with my routine. I need help with this and I have decided not to feel quilty anymore I am now demanding my time I only need about 45mins. a day. Do you think that I am asking too much.

I don't either. It'll take a week or so for the family to get used to the idea that between 7-8 you are doing your mommy thing. The thought of tying them to the bedpost so I can see where they are while I'm exercising did cross my mind once or twice.

Bribery works pretty good. At least once or twice a week I promise "special gifts" to the family if they can be good while I'm exercising.
