Phen is not designed to be used forever. It is a stimulant and has the potential to become addicting. When my doctor prescribed Phen she said that she would refill the prescription on a monthly basis, after coming in to the office to be weighed and have my blood pressure checked. I don't think we really become immune to the drug, I believe it just doesn't have the same effect after a period of time. I took the Phen for about 10 weeks and really did not like the way it made me feel, so I am on my own now and continue to eat 1200 healthy calories a day and exercise. The weight loss is slow but, I am feeling much better off the Phen. It is not a drug that you can stay on indefinately and it should be used to "jump start" a healthy lifestyle. I have learned to control my hunger (which I discovered is really boredom) by doing other things beside eating. I will make a phone call to a friend, work a crossword puzzle, read, take a walk. I am not saying it is easy but, it a new way of life for me and I am really embracing it, so far. Use the drug as prescribed by your doctor and keep your eye on the prize, a healthier, slimmer you. It will happen for you.
