    Default New to Phendimetrazine

I just wanted to introduce myself. I just started on Phend about 3 days ago. I am on a strict 500 calorie high protien diet. So far so good. I will get my first weigh in this Wednesday. I also get a B12 injection.

So I am off to read everything I can on this site.

Welcome to the family! I also take phenD but my doc recommened a 1000 a day diet. I dont think I could do 500. I would probably break down and go to sum buffett and just pull a chair up to the food lol. Good luck on your weight loss goals. This is a great forum and we all like to support each other and have fun! Jus jump right on in.

Yeah, if I was on that diet I would have my chair parked at the buffet next to socialite. I think sometimes just one of my meals have more calories than that! Welcome to the forum. Keep us posted. I can't wait to see all the weight you'll lose!

Dawn, how tall are you and what's your BMI? If your BMI is not 30+ you should not be on such a low calorie diet. I pray you are not going to those quick weight loss clinics...they are unsafe and sell you things you don't need. First of all a diet of 500 calories is not even prescribed for morbid obesity, for morbid obesity an 800 cal/day diet with medical supervision is the lowest we go. For those of us with moderate to severe obesity maybe the lowest cal is 1.000/day. You are ruining your metabolism with such a low calorie diet. What will happen is yes quick weight loss, then after a year studies have shown people gain 1.5x the weight back that was lost. The metabolism drops into starvation mode and every little calorie weather it's a salad or a pizza is retained. Such low calorie diets can also cause lots of medical problems like cardiac arrythmias.

As for B12 shots research shows they are a waste of money for weight loss. Unless you have pernicious anemia you don't need extra B12.

My cousin is going to one of those clinics where its 500 cal/day, weekly B12 and vitamin cocktails. The vitamins consist of non prescription products which cause a laxative effect and a diuretic effect. So you think your losing weight when it's just water. They put her on a "body fat scale" like the Tanita scale that uses an electrical current and yes it shows lost body fat because she's lost 8lbs of water. The electrical current gets its body fat percent by determining how much water is in the body. This is very very very inaccurate!! and so misleading!! They actually tell her she's gained muscle, like 3 lbs in 2 weeks. I can't stop myself from laughing but at the same time I want to cry because she's being so stupid and ruining her body in the process.

Even the morbid obese on an 800 cal/day diet are on it for short term ("temporary")weight loss usually in order to get them to an acceptable level of safety to take anesthesia and have gastric bypass. After the surgery they go on a normal amount of calories to cause weight loss but not permanent damage. The problem is when fanatical non-moribly obese people use these diets to drop weight fast and think they will keep it off, it hardly ever works out that way. Then it becomes harder to lose the regained weight because now your metabolism is slower, your older, etc.

Just because a doctor stands behind what they are doing means nothing. So many are out there just to make a buck. Do your own research on medline, ask ethical medical providers to give their opinion, etc.

It's better to do it the right way, calorie restriction (1500 for most all women), exercise and eating healthy, diet pills initially helps. Yes it takes a long time and is hard, but if weight loss was so simple then we'd all be skinny.

    Exclamation WOW

Wow, 500 calories seems like almost NOTHING! I mean, a banana is about 100, a cup of skim milk is 80, add some cereal, and you'd be done for the day. I don't think that's a very good idea. You'll go into "starvation mode", where your body stores any and all intake, because it thinks it may not get any in the future.

    Unhappy 500 calories??????????

I was on Phentermine for 3 months and then switched to the Bontril. I take in 1000-1200 calories a day, occasionally slurp down a can of Mountain Dew and still have lost 47 lbs. When I was trying it on my own, I was using the Cleanse products and a 250- 500 calorie a day diet that was pure protein kinda like the Atkins's diet. Ok I lost a crapload of weight I will say that but within a year it was ALL back and then some. Not to mention my hair started falling out, my teeth began to rot right outta my head, no joke and I had a very ashen tone about me. Of course I thought I looked great but when I see pictures of me from then it is just as bad as looking at the heavy pictures of me too.
Weight loss is a lifestyle change not some gimmick diet that will only defeat you in the end. There is no easier faster softer way unfortunately. If your motivation to lose weight is for health reasons this 500 calorie thing is not the way to go, and if it is for vanity then it is not the way to go either. Trust someone who has been there.
This time I am doing it right with substitions of food instead of abstaining from it all together. And I have energy this time which I never had before. I workout on a tread mill or elliptical at least once a day, and this time it just seems to be a better experience altogether. And the promising part is I really believe the changes I have made will stick, versus what happened to me before. I have found that on the days I dont do some kind of exercise I feel sluggish and tired so I actually look forward to my morning exercise. Which is an ENTIRELY new thing for me.
Please please reconsider what you are doing to your body. I do not mean to sound harsh or negative. Your decision to lose weight should be applauded in everyway, but a 500 calorie diet is DANGEROUS and I would not want anyone else going thru what I went thru and it all be in vain like it was with me.

Can anyone tell me the difference between Phentermine & Phendimetrazine? I have taken Phentermine for about 1.5 years on & off, and feel like it wasn't working so well anymore. My girlfriend is taking PhenD as part of a plan where you get a "pregnancy hormone" shot too. Very very strict: NO alcohol, NO caffeine, etc. Her plan keep you on for about 4-6 weeks, then off for 3. Anyone know if one is better than the other & why? I can't give up my wine & coffee!!!

Smile I'm done with day 1... Now day 2

    I started Phendimetrazine yesterday (12-12-08)

My doctor placed me on a 900 calorie diet - nothing but protein for the first 3 days. I understand the reasoning behind, and know of the signs to look for.

I drank a gallon of water today and was running back and forth to the bathroom.

I am hoping that this will be the jump start I need to get me on he right track.

500 calories are way to low, you better up it back to what your Dr wants you on your body is suffering from that, I know you want to loose weight we all do. but you have to do it the right way. because by taking in calories that low your setting yourself up because when you do start eating normal food your going to blow right back up .

Talking 23 Days and Still going strong....

Today is day 23 for me.

My current weight is 269 and my next weigh in is on Thursday afternoon. I will tell you that I've fought hard for the 13 pounds that I have lost. I am rather proud that I was still able to register a loss even over the Christmas holiday... not to mention that I have not been sticking to my 900 calorie diet strictly.

When I only consume the 900 calories, it leaves me headachey and slightly dizzy, so I make sure that I eat something healthy. Overall, as long as I eat healthily, watch my carbs and make sure that I am not up nibbling cookies in the middle of the night, I have been fine.

Doing it this way, means that my weight loss is slower, but I have a better chance of keeping it off.

    Yay, me!

    Stay motivated!
    Live, Love, Laugh.

    Thumbs up

    HI,
My name is Sabah. I am new to this forum and new to phendimetrazine. I started on 12th jan and lost 8 pounds in the first week! My next weigh in is after 2 weeks, but I have noticed that I am not losing as fast as I did in the first week which I was kind of expecting. I started at 235lbs and now i am 227lbs. I drink a lot of water, walk 30 mins a day, hardly eat as it really suppresses my appetite. My only concern is I sometimes feel a little anxious and my heart beats faster. It does not happen everyday but sometimes at night. I hope we can all keep in touch here and support each other and cheer about each others progress!!!

I take centrum, Vitamin C, Calcium, Magnesium and B12 shots once a week.

    Tell me about your experiences.

And your blood pressure's up as well. Just because a drug is not AS dangerous as the amphetamines does not mean we doctors should prescribe it every 10 minutes. I NEVER had written for PDM and I've been practicing medicine for 25 years. Combine it with unethical, lax doctors or Internet online pharmacies and you have a real prescription for addiction and more more serious health problems. It's 2009 — patients should know better!

    HI Dr. Joey,

Thanks for your post. Actually I have taken the pills for 4 weeks now and I have lost a total of 18 pounds. I understand that you are looking into the health side effects but actually I stopped experiencing any side effect after the second week and I check my blood pressure regularly and it seems stable.
I do know better and I do my research before I try anything new. Yes it has side effects, but TO ME the advantages outweigh the side effects (that I am not experiencing anymore) May be down the lane, I will experience a huge side effect but I still choose to loose weight this way and I will deal with any issues that may arise. I don't do drugs and when my Doc stops giving me the pills, I will stop using them. I have no interest in getting HIGH or all those effects people use drugs for and I know myself very well.
If you cannot support people here, I wonder what you are doing in "my experience with PhenD" forum.

Dr. Joey~~ Can we say, "QUACK, QUACK,QUACK?" Seriously, you are just too funny. If you even knew any REAL doctors, you would know that they didn't have time to get on a forum such as this. THEY GET PAID TO GIVE ADVISE!! They are such busy people! Honestly, I have several doctor friends and I have never heard them refer to themselves as "WE DOCTORS". How dare you ~~~~~~

These people are here because they are trying to get support, not get you to "write them a prescription."

I don't feel any different when I take my pill either, but I lost 7lbs in one week so I guess it's doing something. I do feel a burst of energy on the day that I get my b12 shot.
