Default I Don't Think Any of this Works for Me
I took Phen for a whole month even though the effects of it wore off after the first week. I was able to lose 11 pounds, but that was in the first 5 days and I was also taking half of a diuretic with it. I was hungry most all the time. A couple of weeks ago, the doctor prescribed PhenD for me. Well, I haven't noticed any changes in my appetite. I'm still hungry most of the time and my weight is at a standstill. I'm consciously eating small portions and watching what I eat and I am exercising an hour a day at least 5 days a week. I figure I'll go ahead and take the PhenD for the remainder of the month, but after that, I don't know what my options are. I guess I'll just have to do this on my own without meds. Willpower has always been hard difficult for me to maintain. I just hope that I can stick with what I've done so far. Has anyone else had no luck with either?

7/4/08 - 184.5 lbs (and I even drank alcohol last night)

I took Phen back in 2006 for 8 weeks. I had to stop when I found out I was pregnant. Back then I was taking 37.5 mg tablets. I lost around 18 lbs (which was great). However, this time around I am taking 30mg Phentermine HC. The prescription is for Fastin; I get the generic. I have had WAY better results this time around. I don't really know what the difference is. Instead of the tablet, I take yellow time release capsules. I am NEVER hungry and I can still feel it working (after 5 1/2 weeks on it). You may want to ask about this. I can tell a huge difference between the two.

My first two weeks I had a big loss also but then it kinda leveled out to be like three lbs a week. Rather you take the phen or not you can be successful, without the phen it may not happen as fast but it can still happen. Workout out like you are will def change your body and watch what you eat... Keep pushing your body and you will be seeing the 180s before you know it... I stopped taking phen when I was around 190 and have lost the last 16lbs without the phen. It was harder and a bit slower but I am still losing and in the end that is what counts. Do not get down the weight will come off...

Same here...I started phen 3/21 and have lost 11 lbs but no further. My doctor has me on the low carb diet which I'm sticking to like glue, but still nothing. I do light to moderate exercising and walking, too. Very frustrating! I have been taking phen around noon to get the lasting effect thru dinner so I'm not starving. But my energy level is definitely gone! It's hell to get old!

^wow

11 pounds might not seem like a lot, but it is! Omg you guys, I've been on Phen since Nov of last year. (on and off) and I've lost 25lbs. I couldn't afford to go to the clinic at times, but I didn't gain the weight back because I stayed focused in eating healthy. So I understand, it ****s to feel that you are hungry.

All I have to say is that if you feel hungry, you might not be doing something right. Set up a food plan for yourself depending on your daily calorie intake. Are you only eating 3 meals a day? What works for me is eating through out the day (snacks) Not only does it help keep your metabolism going but it helps you not feel hungry. There are yummy rice cakes at Albertson's (popcorn, cinnammom flavor etc), and so many other healthy snacks.

Don't give up on phen, it DOES work. You just have to make it work for YOU. Be proud of your 11lbs, if you want to I can be a support buddy for you.

Also, watch the biggest loser finale tomorrow, it will inspire you... I'll be watching
All I'm trying to do is find that skinny girl I lost inside of me,
she was last seen in 2004!!

aquafinachick-support buddy would be nice. I try to eat 3 meals a day but sometimes I do just snack. I take the 37.5 and the doctor told me to take it around lunch time and eat a lite lunch and do a low carb/high protein diet which I do. I normally have eggs and baconor suasage for brkfst and maybe an Advantage shake for lunch with snacks and then some meat and salad for dinner. he said to maintain about 1,000 calories, but sometimes that's hard to do. I've done the Atkins diet before and lost almost 40 pounds and all I watched was the carbs...no more than 20 grams per day. So I do feel stuck in a rut, but I know it's not going to happen overnight either. Thanks for your help!

Nursy, are you eating 6 times a day? How much water? In that hour of exercise, are you lifting weights? I lost weight slowly at first, but when I increased my calories I lost more, and I wasn't feeling so deprived at the end of the day. Your exercise could be making you lose inches and gain muscle. You know this Ms.Nurse! (I'm a nurse too.) Go to www.calorie-countplus.com and calculate your bmr, calories used in one day (includes everyday calories burned and exercise) and determine how many calories you should be eating. It's probably alot more than you think. Going by those calculations have really made a difference for me. Hang in there. Do you work dayshift eves or nights? Night shift can make it harder for us to lose cause our metabolism is screwed up. I also find when at work, I don't get to really space my food out like I do when I'm home cause of the busy-ness, let alone trying to pee! Let me know.

I work nights, so it does make it harder to do. I don't have a "normal" eating schedule. On work nights I normally eat a healthy dinner before going to work in the evening, then I fix a huge pitcher of water to drink on while at work (when I can actually sit down and drink it), I eat a light snack around 9 or 10, then I eat a healthy meal around midnight or 1 a.m., then I eat another snack around 4 or 5 a.m. On my days/nights off it's usually even harder to eat like I'm supposed to because I'm sleeping in my first day, then I'm usually up late the first night (like right now), but when I go to bed at a normal time, I eat 5 to 6 small meals/snacks during the day and drink water. I have been lifting weights along with my cardio and I have definitely been able to tell that I've lost inches. I was brave enough to post before and now pictures tonight and I can tell when I look at the pictures side by side. I can feel it in my clothes, too. None of my pants fit anymore.......they are falling off of me. Even though my weight is not moving, I'm realizing that I'm probably replacing fat pounds with muscle pounds and toning up.

Maybe you could try eating your healthy meal around 9 or 10 (this is what I do) then snack at 1a and 4 or 5 a. Then you will eat smaller amounts while our metabolism is slower. But I know, sometimes i don't even get my 10p meal in til 2a! You know what I mean! But I am glad you took the pics cause that helps us really SEE it in other ways than looking at the scale. I commented on your pics in your pic thread. Good job girl!

I started taking PhenD around the 8th of this month and lost 8lbs the first week, but now I've gained it back. I go to the dr. tues. and am going to have him check my thyroid.

I've been keeping track of what I eat on the calorie-count site, been doing 400 crunches a day and walking 2-4 miles everyday(7 days a week). It's getting very frustrating! I'm sure I'll whine/vent on the other forum tues. after my appt.
