I just started taking 35 mg Phendimetrazine yesterday. I take one at 10 am and one at 4 pm, plus I'm trying to stat on a 12-1500 calorie food intake. I'm going to a weight loss clinic here in okc, my question is why did they tell me it was okay to drink caffeine at least once a day and what I'm reading on line states that you should cut it out all together??? I have been having a headache off and on since I startede, but afraid to drink caffeine....any help would be great! Thanks!

If you are used to drinking caffeine, that's the headache, that and you need to drink more water, when I drink anything with caffeine, I get a headache and feel nervous and jittery.

I take phendimetrazine also, 70mg three times a day. I was told that somehow the caffeine undermines the ketosis process. WHAT??? I still have not gotten a clear answer. but I am by no means a caffeine addict infact I hardly drink soda or coffee. I was suffering from headaches the first few days. So I am not sure if it is the caffeine but I do think it is the change of diet. My diet is 500-800 calories per week, a little different than yours. But I go to a weight loss clinic too. Good luck, if you want to buddy up let me know I live in Tampa.

Hi JustJeni...

You will get many different opinions on the caffiene thing. If you are a regular coffee drinker, then go ahead and have one cup, it probably won't affect much. If you want to ween yourself down slowly. Maybe try 1/2decaf and 1/2reg until you can go 100% decaf. A caffiene headache is no fun at all... As to your soda question.. I would limit those too. While they are no calories, there is lots of sodium and other bad things in them. Maybe use a diet soda as a treat once in a while. The key for all of us is to get the water in.. while dieting or not, we all should be drinking more water.

This whole dieting thing is really just to teach us healhty habits and ways of eating. There is no fobidden food... just certain foods that we shouldn't eat everyday or in large quantities.

Good luck on your journey...

2getskinnysoon, that is awesome advice, and really true, we all have our own spin on what we think and what works for all of us. But i think the one thing we have in common is a desire to live a different life than the one that brought us to search out weight loss. I am going to be really happy when getting out is a true desire for me instead of a chore. I look forward to those "Healthier" days.

Yup Calico - it's all about mindset and what works for you as an individual. We have to adapt habits and healthy eating that works our own individual lifestyle. All of our calorie levels, caffeine intake, fat grams, etc. are all different.

What works for one may not work for another... how much exercise, how much food, how much of anything... ?

That's why we all love the Phen so much... it helps take the hunger pains away so we can make wise choices and figure out what works for us. Maintaining weight is very easy.. heck I had been 160-163 for a very long time. Dieting is hard because you have to cut the calories to lose.. hence, Phen.

When I do reach my goal weight I will increase my cal by 200 a day for a week and see what happens. Then if need be the following week, increase a little more and see how it goes. This is how I will find what calorie level works for me at that weight and waht I will need to do to maintain.

It's a lifelong process and one that doesn't happen overnight.. Heck, we didn't get this heavy overnight, it will take some time to come off and readjust our mindsets.

Good luck to all.. we CAN and WILL do this!!!
