Ideas for Purging

I have suggested this in a PM, but I thought I'd formalize it here.

I think, to speed up the site and to make it seem more relevent to today's phensters, you could:

1. Delete any topic with fewer than 5 responses that is older than 6 months. This will get rid of a lot of clutter.

2. Merge common topics. Seems many people have a tendency to start a new thread without scrolling down even 1/2 a screen to see it's already being discussed. I'm sure I've been guilty of it too. On another website I particpate in, the mods don't allow more than 20 topics or so. The merge common ones together and let old ones die their natural course. It's a fast, clean site.

3. Post an "Attention - Please Read - Cleaning Boards "at the top of each so that people understand what you are doing.

I totally agree!! I went through here when i first started and i can not believe if you flip page by page there are the same "7" questions on almost all..... this site is running soooooo slow its hard to be on here cause if i only have a few mins to post there usually all used to waiting....hope you concider this seriously!!

I THOUGHT I WAS JUST EXPERIENCING AMNESIA LIKE IN 40 FIRST DATES BECAUSE JUST LIKE CASSANDRA THESE ARE THE SAME TOPICS THAT WERE HERE WHEN I FIRST JOINED . I KNOW I TRIED TO DELETE A COUPLE OF MY TOPICS A WHILE BACK BECAUSE THEY HAD NO RESPONSES BUT MUCH TO MY DISMAY I COULDN'T DO IT .I'M GLAD YOU SUGGESTED IT NOW THE QUESTION IS WILL THEY ACT ON IT ?

I have to agree. I am surprised by how old some of these posts are. I often see post from 2006.
