I'm seeing Doctor Fortino on Wednesday. I've heard really good things from friends. He has a website (drfortino. com) and it may be work checking out. He's in South Philly. Good luck! :-)

Dr. Strowhouer is great! The name of his practice is Physicians Weight Control. You can google it, or just go to physiciansweightcontrol (add dot com at the end). He has several different office locations, including Media, KOP and Allentown. Good luck!

Anyone have experience with Sr. Strowhouer they could share? I am considering making an appointment with him. Dr. Fortino's web site is a bit disconcerting. How long have most of the links said "Coming Soon?"

Any Philly area folks who would like to chat?

    Thanks,
    Meg

Yes, my friend & I both used to see Dr. Strowhouer and stopped going. He gives you the pills in the office so you don't really know what you are getting and they didn't seem to work for me like the Phen that I had ordered from the internet. Also, my friends pills were yellow & black and mine were red & black. I just felt like I was spending way too much money for little to no results & I wasn't sure what I was taking. He says that it is Phen & he gives you a B shot and vitamins as well. Good luck whatever you decide!!!

Thank you for the reply, Cia. That's odd about the different colored pills - unless the dosages or brands were different? But why would he use different brands? I actually kind of like the idea of not having to go to the pharmacy but it sounds like major bucks and not from a pharmacy means no guarantee of what dosage, etc. Hmmm......thanks for the info.

I see Dr. Fisher he has offices in Delaware County, South Philly, NE Philly and City Line Ave. DIET PATIENTS DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE AN APPOINMENT AND IT IS $95 A MONTH. He does a Phen/ Phendimetrazine combo with water pills. I like them. I used to go Dr. Levine he was a very nice man and had a nice staff but it was very expensive, but if you are looking for a more hands on approach he is your guy.

    Default Appointment

Kellgees - I wanna give Dr. Fisher a try but can't seem to get ahold of anyone in the office to make an appointment (keep getting voicemail). Do you have another number (besides the one listed on the website)? Thanks!!

    Hi Philly area folks -

Well, after a while of STRICTLY following a diet of Lean Cuisine dinners (the ones without preservatives and therefore, less sodium), fresh spinach leaves, spring greens, two or three low fat, low calorie Weight Watchers snacks, and lots of water........I have not lost a single pound. How very disappointing.

Clearly I am going to need medical help and won't be able to lose on my own. I am going to see about getting an appointment with Dr. Strowhouer because he has an office nearby. Dr. Fisher will be my second choice due to location.

Dr. Strowhouer's web site says "The appetite suppressants we use are Phentermine Hydrochloride, Diethylpropion and Phendimetrazine."

Well, I am already rigorously controlling my intake of calories and fat grams and not getting any results. I don't understand how adding one of the above meds will help. If anyone has any input, I'd appreciate it. I might post this same question on another board, too.

    Thanks,
    Meg
P.S. Blizzie - did you ever get a hold of Dr. Fisher's office?

    Meg,
For me the lean Cuisines did not work because of the preservatives. I try to eat as naturally as possible. Foods such as : brown rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, veggies, fruits, yogurts, nuts and whole wheat breads. The phen/phen d combo is what I do and it does wonders. I don't understand the biology behind it but the weight melts off. Today I have on a pair of capris that I could not get up a leg 3 weeks ago. I go to Dr Fishers and he has offices all over the city and NO APPOINMENT NECESSARY. I am going to my family doc on 08/22 to try to get him to write me a script to cut some costs. Even though $95 a month is nothing compared to my old junk food spending. Good Luck!!! Let us Know how you make out.

Kell - You are so helpful and your posts make me smile. So positive, having great results, and looking maaahvelous. You know, your diet is practically vegetarian. Have you ever noticed that vegetarians are almost always slim? I have. Not sure if i could ever do that, though. I could easily live without red meat but I love chicken, etc.

One last question for you - does Dr. Fisher give you prescriptions to fill or does he have the meds right there? If no appointment is necessary, do you ever see him or only his staff? Whoops, that was two questions.

I agree that $95.00 a month is quite reasonable compared to what we'd spend in junk food.

    Thanks again,
    Meg

No I eat meat. Lean cuts of chicken, beef and fish. dr Fisher administer the meds in the office. Both at the Mc dade office. Though I see more of the associates here lately he has 2 new offices. So I guess he is getting to know his new clients.

Meg - I ended up just going to Dr. Fisher's without an appointment, and was seen right away.

I think it's important to find the right diet for you. I believe everyone's body is different, and reacts differently to different diets. For me, low-carb is the way to go. Sweets, especially high carb ones, are my weakness. Since starting the low-carb, I look better & feel better. The first few days were tough, but now I have more energy than I ever would've imagined.

    Good luck!
