    Question

I am looking for a doctor in the KC metro area who is willing to prescribe Phentermine. I have tried the link on the side for the Bariatric Association, but so far, I have only found listings for clinics and bariatric doctors specializing in weight loss surgery.

But I was wondering if some of the clinics/doctors that specialize in surgery also prescribe/promote other areas/types of weight loss? (Thinking they may use tactics getting someone ready for surgery, etc.)

** If you know of a traditional "diet doctor" in the KC area, or have a better idea of how I could find one, please post. Thank you. **

Of course, I know I can ask my PCP, however, I just feel she would not support this as she has done nothing to help w/weight loss thus far. And being that I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Insulin Resistance I feel a little 'help' is warranted.

I wonder if the Private Messages are delayed or something...?

So far it says "no private messages". I'll check again tomorrow.

    Thanks!

You need to ask your pcp about Byetta. Its used for insulin resistance and pos. I lost 30lbs. the 1st month but had to stop taking it because it is not approved yet for diabetics on insulin so the ins. wouldn't cover it. Go to Diabetes.Blog.com and click on Byetta on the right side to read about it. Good Luck.

my ins. will not approved ANY medication that is not FDA approved for insulin dependant diabetics. Byetta helped me more than anything. My pcp has me on the phen for 3 months to see if I can loose some weight to help with my diabetes. So far I have just not been losing like some of you all. I have lost only 6lbs. in 6 weeks and he said I should have lost at least 10lbs or more the first month. If I could just get off insulin, then I could go back to byetta or januvia. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I seem to be just drinking water and eating all the fresh fruit I can because of the dry mouth.
