    Hi Everyone~

I just met someone who went on phentermine and lost 40 lbs. I asked my doctor to prescribe it but he is insisting on an EKG and ecocardiogram first. I go in on Friday for the tests . Did anyone else have to have these tests? I also heard that phentermine gives you red cheeks and a lot of energy. Can anyone cofirm or deny.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hey Chris,
Definitely go ahead with the EKG to be on the safe side. I didn't get a EKG when I first started phen but I did get one about a month afterwards. I have heart palpitations now. I'm not sure if I had these before I started phen or not. If I did, they were not noticeable. I had to have a echo last week.

    Good luck

I've had the tests in the past and everything was fine. My doctor prescribed the phen for me without any further testing. Good Luck

In order to reach my final goal weight by the end of 2008, I need a 7.5 lb loss per month. So, a 7.5 lb loss per month will be my goal. Anything more than 7.5 will be icing on the cake I didn't give in to.

I didn't have either of them before I started Phen but I have had them in the past and they are a good idea. An echo helps your doctor check the overall function of your heart and sometimes it can help catch diseases in their early stages. It's non-invasive so it's not bad at all. I do ultrasound and I wouldn't lie to you about it. Another good test that I've had is a nuclear medicine stress test, also not bad at all. The EKG is just a screener and is normally what you have first when you are having chest pain or an irregular heartbeat. Heart problems are widespread and it's always a good idea to have your heart evaluated.
