Hi everybody,

We are very pleased to announce you that the chat application is currently working. We haven't finalized all the parameters yet but you will be able to chat in real time with other people.
We have taken some time to analyze all the chat programs on the market and have opted for the best Java char application from digichat.com. We are convinced you will love this chat ! The response time is immediate so you don't have to wait for a refresh of the screen.

The chat will work on all browsers which are Java compatible.

For the best speed and compatibility with the Client applet (the program that creates the chat window), we recommend Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0 for Windows, and Internet Explorer 4.5 or later for Macintosh with MRJ 2.1 or later. You may use Netscape 4.0 for Macintosh, though these browsers exhibit poor Java performance.

------ AOL USERS -------

Does DigiChat run under America Online?

Yes. However, it may be necessary to access DigiChat from an external browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator/Communicator, rather than the built in AOL web browser. This is due to apparent bugs in AOL 4.0 and earlier which cause some Java applets , such as DigiChat, to redraw improperly. This bug appears to affect Windows 95/NT and Macintosh, though Windows 98 appears to be unaffected.

How about some different pictures for the chat room. Some of them are pretty scary!

How about a coffee cup, night light, white/blue speck phen pill, and all the smileys? We need a "Be Right Back" icon also.

I love Robin's idea of the blue/white speck pill for an icon! Also, not that we don't appreciate our chat room, but, could ya tone down the font colors a little? They can be blinding! Thanks.

I've changed the icons in the chat rooms. Try them ! there are some great ones !

The colors could be changed to be more in line with the forum colors.

Is there a way to save your profile in the chat room? Can you leave the chat room and go to the forum with out logging out? Is there a way to see who is in the chat room before you go into it?

I wish the little nurse's head had blond hair...and the little head with the halo and sunglasses on would suit me (according to Lee...just because I don't own a vibrator)...but she's got dark hair too. Is this some sort of conspiracy against the pigmentedly-challenged?

Hi John,
I just tried to go to the chat room for the first time.Not a positive experience.

I entered my nickname:Paula and tried to click on the connect box and to no avail...It froze my computer up and I had to manually shut down my computer.
What am I doing wrong? I'm on Aol and I'm a novice on the computer so....speak clearly and slowly to me.I'm hesitant to try again.

The icons that appear as choices, while I'm sure they're meant to be humorous, are totally ludicrous as choices for any 'cultural' elements that frequent this board. Now what does Lee mean by that? None of those idiot pictures vaguely resemble a 'sista'.

If you want, I can just send you my picture and you can make an icon based on that which I'm sure would be pleasing to any eye..

I sent you a message on the 15th of July about the lack of appropriate faces for the chat room. This is the now July 16th and I did not notice a difference. I've been rackin my brain tryin to come up with excuses for the delay since I know how busy some companies can be. But 24 entire hours???????? You must be short staffed.

I'll check back tomorrow to approve the changes.

Remember that these icons have 24x24 bits ... so I don't guarantee the result at all.
