My husband, son and I just returned from a local weightloss clinic in the hopes of finding help for our 15 yr old son - 5'9" -- just weighed in at over 350 1bs. The Dr. put all 3 of us on Phentermine and I guess I'm looking for some words of encouragement that this will be they key to help my son lose weight and feel better about himself. Any tips to help motivate a teen? His health is at real risk here.

Hi Pat
I don't have teenagers so I can't say I know how to motivate him. but the fact that you and your husband are willing to do the weightloss thing with him shows how much you care.
Just take it slow get him to walk 3or4 days a week for about 30 minutes. Once the weight starts dropping he will see its possible. Phen is a wonderful drug. Just let him know he's been given a chance to break out of the shell but he has to want it. Its a long process but he can do it!!! GOOD LUCK!
