Good news! I went to the doc today,and weighed in at 208- that was 20.5 lbs gone since she put me on the meds! She was happy with my progress and gave me another 3 mos worth!
Whew! Now I'm ready to get in gear with this and let all the weight go!!!

A New Laurie: I noticed in one of your earlier posts that you are also left-handed!!! Great to see another lefty to join in as we tackle the battle of the bulge!! In book stores, they have the left-handers daily calendar; it's square, and you tear the pages off day by day. What I luv about it is the interesting information about us, the lefty birthdays of famous folks, and it makes for a great daily calendar too!

Elliesmom: Gurl, congrats on your excellent weight loss numbers!!!! Be sure to update your weight information in the section to the left of your post so all can see your remarkable progress at a glance!! I want your doctor, someone who writes 3-month prescriptions at a time!! I really like my doctor, but she can be very reserved at times -- I don't know why I'm stressing about her holding back next month on re-filling my phen for me, but I am ...

Can anyone recommend something I can purchase over-the-counter (even at a GNC health store) that is good for appetite suppression during that month while I'm off phen? Maybe if I had something else to take, it would help calm my nervousness; I know it's all in my mind, but still ...

I had a good day today of eating, just like yesterday, with lots of water, and I plan to get in some biking tonight, keep the metabolism going -- TTYL!!

Arrow Hi Phrends!
Had a decent weigh-in. My scale, 139; TOPS 139.8; Doc 137.4!! So, from doc scale I lost 3.5 pounds in the last month. I was kind of scared about my re-fill because according to his scale I have met my 138 goal. Next time I expect just a maintenence re-fill which I think is 60 pills for one year. Sounds great to me. I really would like to get down to 130 and be able to fluctuate from 130-135 as a final goal since I am 2-3 pounds heavier before TOM. I will stick with my scale for the challenges since I can always get to it.

I've had a hungry day. 1400 calories which is 150 over. I took an off for exercise, but I really need a good workout.

MIL is here as she got out of the hospital today. I have to take her home tomorrow. (four hour round trip) I also have to take Son to orthodontist first which is a two hour round trip. I will try to get up when Hubby does to get my workout in. I also have to go back to the pharmacy where MIL got her meds filled as she did not have her new prescription card. Hubby charged over $400 on our credit card. Sounds like I'll get a lot done tomorrow. I had planned to finish getting the tax stuff together for us and my Mom. I guess I'll do that Friday. OK, no more whining. After all, these are the reasons I don't have a paying job.Thank God MIL is better enough to go home. The only reason she got out was because they were admitting someone else to her room and she didn't want to share and she threw a fit. They gave her the diagnosis of renal failure which really concerns me.

CD, I think your Doc is too conservative. I'm sure you feel the same. Good luck on a comparable appetite suppressent. I need to take a break soon. Heck, I'm ready to learn to do this w/o the phen. Talk about scary!

I agree LZ, she is much too conservative - we have been going to her for many years, and as a physician, she cares and wants the best, but in terms of medications, she holds back way too much ... I did my bike tonight, burned 450 calories, biked for 65 minutes, but I also munched on two 100-calorie packs, something I didn't need. I got my veggies and my fruits in, but I don't feel "comfortable" about her decision right now -- but I do have about 22 capsules left over from when she initially prescribed the 30 mg of phen, and I felt they were too strong at the time (the blue/clear timed-release capsules); I think what I'll do is "blend" those in with my 15 mg capsules that I have now. Between the two, I should be okay in having something to take to keep the munchies away for the next two months -- it's not like I really need a break from it right now anyway; I started them in mid-November, so that's only 4 months that she has prescribed for me. I had forgotten about those 30 mg capsules that I had; okay, I'm feeling better now!!

Okay phen family, let's keep those "forgotten 30 mg capsules" just between us!!

hello to all my party people!!!

yup,been off yest and today, hence i was mia again~! yest was icky, did well at work, like300 cals,then came home and napped got up, and we decided to take my daughter to chuck e cheese for her bday...3 pieces of pizza, and 2 cheesey breads later...ummm well then it was desert at home (even all the low fat/no fat kind)...and umm well we don't need to talk about the 2393 cals do we?? one serv of fruit...but we had a great time!!!!!!!!!

today, a little better...no eating out!! oh, well not for meals...just dq! but u would be so proud of me! i only ate 1/2 and shared the rest with the kids!! normally i don't EVER share my ice cream! so over on the cals today but by less than a hundred. had one fruit one veggie...that's really ick. exercised well last night, need to do it today still.

hoping that all who are traveling are getting there just fine and having a great time!

glad u all enjoyed my going out story! it was a blast...prob not gonna get out again till we are in wa in april, may, june. gee, we leave in 4 weeks already!!! i need to start organizing stuff!

the scale has still been kind, which is weird since i ate pizza twice in 3 days...wow, i normally only do that like twice a month!!! lots to make up...so goody two shoes these next couple of days! my ex sil is already asking how i am doing on my wt...and i want to look good when i get to wa.i saw an episode of bulging bride or what ever it's called, and man! in 6 weeks they really knock off some wt and pounds!!! duh, this is a 6 week challenge!!! i need to fire it up and stop the cheating and rationalizing days...summer is just around the corner ladies!!! short shorts, tank tops, going to the beach and getting on my ex sil's boat...lots of reason to be FINALLY comfortable in my skin!!! so CD, i am gonnna need every bit of your motivational moments and wonderful cheering that u do...!!!! not to mention lifting up from everyone else's successes and watching u all grow!

cd~i would suggest the 5htp, that is something people take along with phen and you could do it while your off, its otc, so you can get it at super suppliments or gnc!!! well ladys im in to check in and say hello!!! I think im gonna ask my doc for phenD as well, i was at work today looking at the prices and its not to bad and so I think i will try it!! plus im gettin CLA on friday!! woot woot!!! So this week iv been doing good, I also got a tooth whitening kit from the dentist so another move towards a hott me!! hehe, plus I put it on at like 9 and it stops me from doing any snacking I mite want to do cuz I cant while its on!! anywho, dont have much time this week to say hi to all, but hope everyones doing great

Default "...Im not in Kansas anymore..."
Here in NY FINALLY!!

I was sooo exhausted yesterday as I did not sleep a wink the night before. We looked at a couple of apts but they both ****ed. Im meeting with 2 girls today about apts and after that Im going to say SCREW IT and get my own place in Astoria. Most of what I saw yesterday were glorified closets (which I have been aware of for a while now) but the roomates ****ed. I want to live with a young professional like myself..someone who's fun. Not someone who draws grafiti on their walls all day while they are getting high.

On the other hand, I have been here for less than 24 hours and I believe my tastebuds think they have died and gone to heaven. We went to this Thai place last night that was to DIE for! ANd I dont even think it was that unhealthy... Tofu and veggies in this like spicy vinegary type sauce. CAnt explain, but it was good.

Well I have 3 large suitcases, 2 of which are at my cousins house in Queens while I am staying at his Mom's house further out on LI. Therefore, no scale for me this morning...I honestly think it's going to throw off my whole day too, ha. I did well with eating yesterday and Im anxious to see results.

Anywhooo..gotta go. Long day of craigs list stalking to do. I should run, but I dont want to I think it has been a week since my last run...oops. BUT I did bartend those 2 shifts...

I'll be able to focus more energy on this healthy lifestyle of mine when I actually have a place to call home. Just give me a few days, lol.

Hello phen family!! I'm busy cleaning up stuff at my desk today; here in DC, they are calling for snow after midnight, and then sleet/freezing rain on top of that for all of Friday!! So if it turns out to be as bad as they say, I may have to stay home tomorrow, and don't want to leave any projects undone on my desk -- well, I weighed Tuesday morning, and it showed a 4-pound gain from my original weight, not surprising since I was eating bad stuff over the holiday weekend, so then I weighed this morning, and it showed a 2-pound gain from my original weight. Since I weigh at the gym here at work, if I'm not able to make it in tomorrow, that is the weight I will use for the week. But I'm gonna continue to do good, be strong, and look for much better numbers next week!!

Hi Krissy, thanks gurl for the advice of the 5htp, I appreciate it!! I had seen folks talk about it on the phen board, but didn't know too much about it. I gather it works to help control your appetite, so I'll definitely go get some; really didn't want to take the 30 mg capsules that I had, since they were strong before, I had left them alone, so don't want to get my body out of whack just to keep the appetite away!!

Trauma: You are so right, spring/summer is right around the corner, and we've got to look our best -- stepping out on the boat, you've got to be looking like a perfect-size phen!!! I will make sure our motivational says are posted, and when I write them, I am speaking to myself as well, boy do I need a push in the right direction!!

7jeans: Meghan gurl!!! Glad to hear from you!!!! Well, I hear ya about not wanting craz-ay roommates; that is the last thing you need; they are already down, and if you live with those kind of nuts, they will bring you down right along with them!!! And yes, definitely count those bartending jobs as running, jogging, all that, you were burning those calories up!! So glad to hear that you made it safely , and have a great day today!!
