Hello Twinzy and all:

Sorry I have been MIA. I thought I was ready to join the challenge when I last logged on but couldn't get past my depression. I am so glad that it has finally passed although I still get a bit sad from time to time but am not going to keep me from moving forward.

I am ready to start the Nov. challenge and am looking forward to catching up with everyone and making new friends. Although I must say that even though I have not been posting I have been keeping up with the Oct. posts. I am so happy that everyone is meeting their goals and trying their best to follow a healthier lifestyle.

Twinz - congrats on running your five miles every other day or so. I am so jealous right no. I am still logging 4 miles but have not really been doing it every day.

Resmoo - I loved the Halloween pics. You look fantastic. I can't believe how thin you are now. I remember the last pic you posted when you first got your hair cut and colored? That was you right?

Kitty: I want to place a new avon order but lost your website info: Can you please pm the info.

Hope everyone else is doing fine and I hope to catch up with you guys. I really miss the support.

My starting weight is 180. I has been six months since I have taken any phen and am losing weight steady but have not lost any weight since the end of Aug.

My goal for this month will be to lose 4 pounds. I will also try to make it to the gym 5x a week and weight train 3x a week. I will log my exercises for the week with my weekly weigh ins. I will try and follow a sensible diet but not sure how far that will take me.

Hope everyone has a safe Halloween and will catch up tomorrow.

My name is LeeAnn. I am 42 y/o and help MIL PT in her jewelry business. I live in Texas on a farm. I have a 17 y/o grown up daughter and a 10 y/o son.

Starting weight is 146.6.

Goals for November....

Default Count me in!
Hi there!

I love this post and all of my new friends. I look forward to another month with all of you. I have to be honest and say it is so nice to be able to use this site to be just that...honest. I have no reservation on telling you guys everything, the good, the bad and the ugly...I am not judged and that is wonderful. Everyone is so supportive, motivating and encouraging! I hope I can be that to everyone in return.

So, maybe I should do what Neil did on The Biggest Loser?? Just kidding. If you do not know, he ate and drank so he would gain weight at weigh in so his next one would be better. To me, that is totally defeating the purpose. Yes, we want to lose, but we need to be healthy first.

My family has a terrible track record for heart disease. My father as had heart issues for as long as I can remember, and had a massive heart attack and open heart surgery oh, 3 years ago...he was only 55 at the time. He is doing very well now. His sister, younger sister had a heart attach and surgery 2 months after he did! I lost three grandparent before they were 55...so I need to keep my heart strong!

Have you noticed, I added a picture! I need to work on that ticker thing the bottom of everyones posts. They are all so cute! The picture is of me (at 190 pounds) in July in Lake Placid at the Ironman Triathlon. Yup, that is the amazing, athletic, unbelievably gorgeous six pack of a husband I am blessed to be married to! Now that was taken after he completed the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run, in 12 hours! He looks like he rolled out of bed, I look more tired there than he does!! Can you tell I am proud of him? We do not have kids, so he is my source of pride!

He would hate it if he new I put his picture here. But I do not have any solo pics of myself...I am the one behind the camera all the time. Hopefully, that will soon change and I will LOVE to have my pic taken!

November goals:
1~post more regularly
2~post calories and workouts
3~lose at least 10 pounds
4~Run 7 miles continuously (according to my half marathon training schedule)
5~smile!

So there you have it! November is a new month, and with that we will become stronger, thinner and healthier.

Looking forward to seeing all of the October buddies here in the November challenge. Twinzy~Thank you so much for keeping this going!

Default Kick it up a notch again!!!!!!!!
Quick post before I go to school. Yesterday's weigh-in 220.5, I am going to try again for Onederland this month. I hope my stress level goes down a lot. October is a really busy month for a teacher too, so that didn't help my stress eating either. As I mentioned the other day, I plan on posting my daily menus and exercise. During my very first challenge with this group, slave driver Kitty, kept us posting all that important stuff daily. I lost like 30 lbs. I had just started phen, cut out soda, and exercised like a fiend at the gym. So, I am rejoining the gym this month and logging all my food.and exercise. I will go to the gym before I come home at least 4 days a week. Ok, GTG to school. I'll check back later.

In order to reach my final goal weight by the end of 2008, I need a 7.5 lb loss per month. So, a 7.5 lb loss per month will be my goal. Anything more than 7.5 will be icing on the cake I didn't give in to.

Default Happy November!
Good morning. I feel better today and am ready for some fresh challenges! For this month, my goals are:

1. To return to the Y for weight training twice a week, and pilates on Sunday morning. Wog 5 miles 3 days a week (down from 6). One day to rest.

2. 173 pounds or better. My original goal for 2007 was to get to 160 by year end, but I'm thinking 168 might be where I end up.

3. Water over wine. Insert funny Jesus reference here. But seriously, I gotta reduce those empty calories. That is my biggest challenge...I have no sweet tooth and I eat really well most of the time...so this is an area to work on.

Ok then. I need to get my butt in gear to go to the Y.

But first, welcome back Miami! Here we are, still neck and neck at 62 pounds gone. I'm glad you are on the mend. I know it's been tough. And yes, that was me when I tried to go blond this summer. It was too tough to maintain, I'm back to being a brunette (under the red wig, haha). Thanks for saying I was thin. I still don't believe it. I have major phantom fat/body distortion issues.

Kitty, good luck trying to unteach your picky eaters (my theory - your husband was taught/allowed to be a picky eater and passed that onto the kids). It's tough to change that. My parents did the "this is what is being served, if you don't want or like it, go to bed." They never catered to me with a pb & j sandwich or whatever. They were depression era people, not cruel - and they just didn't believe in giving children a separate meal or other options. I never had fast food, hell, never even had ketchup until I was a teen (and today I don't keep it in the house). So that's how I became the vegetable loving foodie (and snob ) I am today. Jessica Seinfeld's ideas are a good plan B, something that might work for this generation.

Gonnasail, you are on your way to be Iron Woman, wow! Look out!

NewMicMic, I am so happy you are here and so Into This. You'll be in the 2's by the holidays! Woo hoo!

Loseitnow, I'm still so proud of your 75 in a year. But if you don't mind my saying so, I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment trying to see Onederland this month. I don't want to see you angry at yourself when you are a success. And it's not because I don't think you can do it, it's because I don't think it's physically a good idea to drop 21 pounds in a month at this stage of the game. To do so, you'll have to drop muscle and dehydrate yourself and all kinds of nonsense. I think a more realistic, healthy goal is 8-10 pounds. Please don't be mad, I have your physical and mental well being in my thoughts. Kiss.

Hi LZ! Hope the jewelty show goes well.

Thanks again for hosting, Twinzy.

Default November in Iowa.brrrrrr!
It was 22 degrees when I got the kids up this morning. Yikes!
Hubby just drove them 2 hours north to MasonCity, Ia where MIL is meeting them to take them up to Mnpls. for a long weekend! Hurray, peace at last! I have to work this weekend, but at least my home will be clean and quiet! We are going out to dinner tonight after parent/teacher confrences (for preschoolers????) and then Saturday night going to the new casino. I have told all my friends and MIL if I win big, Im getting everyone a gift certificate to the local plastic surgeon for some lipo. hahahaha

Well, I got everyone's beginning November weights recorded, man, we rock! Just wanted to make sure that I have Gonnasails correct at 169#. And, BTW, Micmic was the BIGGEST LOSER of October, way to go girl.
I totally watch the Biggest Loser every week, and I can't believe that Neil drank all that water and did't pee his pants! That was just stupid what he did. And I was sad to see the last guy leave, he was my fave.

Well, Im off to run, in silence! I decided to take my phen midday, I do really good in the mornings...so maybe if I take it later I won't be tempted to eat any cereal at 9:30 like I did last night, or Halloween candy, which I have been REALLY good about! Tell you one thing, CLA is awesome....my twin skin seems to be shrinking! I wore my size 9 JUNIOR Aeropostale jeans yesterday without TOO much muffin top. It was amazing!
Start Wt. 190# 5-9-2007

January goal 8# Or lose 3# per month until June, that will be hitting my goal as I go on vacation!

Okay, I'm here. I'm Cari, I'll be 32 yrs old on Sat. I'm a stay at home mom and I sell Avon. Been doing this for over a year and a half. Slowly but surely is my mantra. Although it's been more slow than anything lately! My goal this month is 5 lbs. Drink at least 60 oz water daily, take my supplements and exercise for an hour at LEAST 3 times a week. OH, and track my calories again. Quit doing that 6 months ago, and need to start again!!

Twinzy: Can you change my Nov. starting weight to 177.4? I know I was 178.5 yesterday, but I dropped some from exercising (w/ sauna belt on) yesterday, and having cereal for dinner!! Since today is the first, I want to start with today's weight please. Thank you!!

Resmoo: You are right! My hubby is an only child and was catered to alot. I was not, and had to clean my plate whether I liked what was on it or not... therein lies another problem, always thinking I have to clean my plate!

LoseIt: I agree with Resmoo... your goal may be too high. Smaller goals reap better results. I would go for 10 at the most to start with. And if you over achieve... then it's just that much better.

Miami: Did you get my PM about Avon?

Gonnasail: Good job, keep up the good work. I can't wait to see the 160's on my scale!!

Thenewmic: Good job to you too. You have done fabulously so far! Keep it up!

Hi LZ!! I am going to start tracking my calories again Monday. I went to prevention dot com and signed up for their Health Trackers. It even tracks your mood!! It told me if I want to lose 13 lbs in 6 weeks I need to eat 1100 less calories per day, then took my normal calorie burn from daily activity level and said I was allowed to eat 1340 per day. So, that's my goal. It has alot more stuff on there than Spark. I got tired of Spark cause every time I was on there it would freeze up my computer for some reason!!?? I am also buying that diet pill and those Gilad dvds next week with my birthday money. I was also thinking about getting those Bowflex Dumbells that adjust from 0-20 lbs with a click of a button. I need heavier dumbells, but don't want 5 sets of them lying around either! My hubby thinks I'm stupid for wanting them, but I don't give a SH**.

Okay, well, I still haven't had anything to eat today (3pm) so I need to go eat. Taking my 1/2 of phen at 10:30 really does work on my appetite so much better. Yesterday I ate lunch at 3pm and wasn't hungry till 10pm, and I had Smart Start cereal instead of the nacho's my husband wanted me to have with him!! Good choice, huh??? I was proud of myself. I fixed him nacho's and didn't even have one bite! See, some days I CAN be good! LOL

Gotta go.... ttyl....

Hi ladies, I am Victoria and a former fat person. Not too fat at the moment, but certainly have the eating ability and mental capacity to overeat my way right back the weight I started, 164ish and more.... I am currently holding steady at about 140 on a very good day to as high as 144. This morning, 144 - been out of control the last few days. Sigh... I have a crazy life here in so cal... I work full time, have 2-year-old twin daughters, a cat, a house and a husband I have to clean up after, feed, buy clothes for and eveyrthing else we all do each day for the household. I am fortunate, we have a live-in nanny and she certainly helps me out a ton, but at a price ($$$$$).

So today starts the holiday season and another month. I am geared up and ready to take all challenges head-on. I will start by taking a whole phen per day, not just a 1/2 anymore. (1/2 early at 730/8 and 1/2 about 11) I haven't really taken any with consistency for about a month now. I saw the fat doc earlier this week.. .according to our talks and my self diagnosis he has me taking 2 adipex a day (of course I barely take 1). He totally believes in drug therapy for our "disease" and dispenses them out like candy. So, pill wise, I am stocked up. Mentally I am ready too...

Foodwise, I will be going back to a slimfast breakfast shake, lean cuisine and an extra veg for lunch, apple snack and very small dinner. This should do the trick. I am also going to look into taking the CLA everyone says melts the middle. Exercise, sigh, I guess I will have to figure something out and go down that avenue.

micmic and gonnasail you both are doing such a good job!. All us regulars... here's to another month and let's see some big numbers come end of November. Donna, we are watching you and hope you can meet a very lart percentage of that huge goal of yours. Twinzy... rocking the junior sized clothes.. way to go. Res, less empty calories will make a big difference. Kitty - NO NACHOS and Miami, welcome back..
Anyone I missed? sorry, didn't scroll down.

Motto for the month - No pumpkin pie!!!!

Thank you all for reminding me that when I set my goals too high, I usually end up disappointed when I miss them. So, I will change it to 10 lbs for November and Onederland by January 1. I think this is more realistic for me. Honestly, I should have known better. Resmoo, I would never be upset with you for thinking of my well being. Kiss back! Anyway, I will make myself take my phen every day so that I can work toward my goal. I haven't taken it regularly for about 5 months. I think I've used 60 pills in those 5 months. I'm hoping my body will react to this almost like it did a year ago. Anyway, it is late and I need to sleep. Early morning for me tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Donna
