This is a continuation of the Making Sparks Fly in July challenge. Anyone is welcome to join. The official start date is August 3rd.

This month I would like each person to dig down deep for some new motivation. Here are the requirements of this challenge.

1.Post your starting weight and your goal weight for August 31st.
2.Pick a part of your body you would like to concentrate on improving and what specifically you are going to do to improve it. Post your starting measurement and your goal for August 31. Example—For the month of August I would like to concentrate on my abdominal muscles. My starting measurement at my belly button is 32 ½ inches. I would like to lose 1 inch by August 31st. I will spend an extra 40 minutes a week on additional abdominal exercises.
3.Post your exercise commitment.
4.Post how you will control your food intake.
5.Post any additional goal(s) you have if any.
6.Check in each day if possible.

Each week I will come up with a fun challenge for the week ahead to try and keep us motivated. All suggestions are welcome. Weigh-ins and reporting will be on Friday with the final check-in September 1st.

Ok, I'll join you on this one! Thanks LZ for giving me some new motivation. I have had some fits and starts on Phen but have lost so well anyway. Lately things have slowed of course so maybe this challenge will be just what I need to kick things up a notch.
My CW is 179, and I'd like my one month goal to be 165.
My overall waist circumference will be my body part focus, working to repair separated muscles from repeated pregnancies and three c-sections. My measurement is currently 37.5, I'm shooting for an even 36. Every kind of abdominal exercise I can think of will help me get there, a BIG challenge for me because I hate to exercise for it's own sake. I will work ab/core strengthening into all my other activities like horse training.
I will continue my lower carb, low fat, very low calorie diet as responsibly as possible this month, it's been working for me pretty good so far!
Come on, who else is up for it?

I'm in. My start weight for 8/1 was 174 and today I'm at 168. Must have been water weight, but I'll take it!

My goal for the month of August is going to be 10 pounds (not counting the waterweight I just lost). I plan to do this by doing the SB diet and taking my phen a little more frequently then I have been.

Another goal is to get off my diet coke addiction! I promise myself to drink more water, either regular or flavored and Crystal Light. I also make a promise to myself to exercise at least 4-5 times a week. Either at the gym, walking the mountain or doing my WATP.


LZ - Thanks for startig this up! Everything is going good, the house is great. Although I've already had to call the plumber out The girls are loving having their own rooms. Still have a lot of boxes to sort through, but pretty much everythig is moved in. Now its just waiting for the next chapter of our lives to open.

PhenHope, Glad to meet you. It looks like you have been doing a great job so far!

How old are your kids? Are you a horse trainer for a living or is it a hobby?

Wb, great loss of water weight. I can relate to the plumber. I have had all sorts of expensive repair people out in the last week--electrician, appliance repair and the phone guy!

Do you have a particular body part you are going to concentrate on?

LZ- I would like to be in the challenge.

My starting weight is 122.2.

My goal for this month is to lose 1 inch each off of my waist and hips. My waist measurement is 27" and my hip measurement is 37". I am going to work out on my ab machine 4 days per week. As for my hips I am just going to keep walking. I will walk 4 times or more per week 8.5 miles each time.

As far as my food intake goes, I am on the SB diet and will continue to follow the diet.

I am in another challenge but I would like to do this one also! I am starting phen for the second time. I did well the first time (October 2005 - February 2006) and stop to get pregnant with my second. I lost almost 30 pounds in 4 months.

Well after giving birth and breastfeeding for 7 months I am trying it again. I am currently 172 (As of Tuesday). I took my first pill on the 1st.

LZ I am like you need to foucs on those wings and that flab I call abs. But I will go with my abs. I haven't measured yet but I will and post it soon.

I am not on a diet just trying to change my habits. 3 small meals and 2 light snacks and 64 ounces of water. My goal is to exercise at least 3 times a week (hopefully more). I have been doing the 20 minuite mile or pilates for dummies.

My current measurments:

abs (around the navel): 36 1/2 inches

arms (hope I did this correct): 12 1/2

LZ--thanks so much for hosting this month. You rock!

I'm not sure about goals right now. I'll have a better idea after weigh-in tomorrow morning. I was a little too ambitious for July and will soon see how short I fell in attaining my goal.

Overall though as of last Friday, I have lost over 16 lbs (141.6 lbs down to 125.2) since May 18th. Not overly impressive, but not horrible either.

Ultimate goal is to get to 108 lbs. since I'm only 5 feet tall. I am praying to be down to about 123 tomorrow. Have stayed away from the scale all week, so who knows.

Hellion, you are awesome. What an accomplishment. I'm getting close to where you are, so look out!

Welcome to WannaBa and PhenHope. This is a really supportive group. I think you'll be glad you're here.

Oh, also, for the newbies here. I have 3 kids (15-girl, 13-boy, and 6-boy) and the most incredible boyfriend/fiancee who is serving our country overseas right now. He'll be home soon--yippee.

Hi LZ,

Am I allowed to join this challenge?

I am on the Inches A Weigh challenge but I really need motivation so I thought being on this challenge as well might help.

I weighed in at 188 lbs and I would really like to go down to 183 ls in the next 3 weeks.

I would like to eat more vegetables, fruits, and cut down on the white carbs. In the past, this has proven really effective for me. I also joined the gym about a month ago. But have not been disciplined with my workouts. I need to work out at least 4 times a week - cardio as well as strength training.

So LZ - am I allowed to join?

Oualum98- What weight did you start at? I was 175 lbs. when I started Phen. in Jan. 2007. I am 5'3 1/2" tall, how tall are you?

I hope you catch up to me soon. Good Luck!!

LZ- I am at goal weight. I wanted to get to 125 lbs. so 122 is a bonus. I figure my body will find it's own comfort zone weight wise and then that is where I will hopefully stay.

Hello LZ and everyone
-starting weight 202.5
-goal weight for the 31st 187
-On the days when I get home late from work(10pm).I have to change what I eat. I'm usually starving so I eat whatever is available.
-The belly bulge and the upper arms are my problem areas so I'll continue with the walking/jogging and take myself to the YMCA and use my membership that I've been paying for.
_get my eating and exercise regiment under control so I can wean myself off of phen.

Halloween is a few months away but I've been fretting over it because I have 3 children and there's always a ton of candy in the house.
