I was wondering if I might join your daily check in.I have been on Phen 37.5mg [half on days I work, whole on days off] since 7/19 and have lost 15 pounds.I am really struggling this week,it seems like after I got my good report at the dr office I lost it and started eating everything in site.I am off today and have taken the whole pill.My scale says I have gained back 4 of the pounds I have lost.I weigh officially on Fridays and am in the Christmas challenge.I need daily accountability and a place to record a menu of what I have eaten by day.I also have been slacking on exercise and if I have to post it hopefully I will do some.I am 39yrs old, married and have 2 boys 9 and 14.I work as a psychiatric nurse and have some very stressful days.Anyway, would it be ok if I join the daily thread?

Of course you are more than welcome to join. I will admit that I have been slacking as well. I'm getting back on the wagon as we speak. I hit a certain number on the scale and I don't know what happened. I guess my brain turned off thinking that I was done losing weight lol. I strayed far from my new habits. I am in the process of rebuilding those new habits and it is very difficult.
Please feel free to post whatever you need to say you will stay accountable. I usually ramble on because it helps to clear my head and get me focused on my goals. Check-In: I did good yesterday. I ate well and exercised. I'm stuck at my weight and hoping the scale will move soon. |

Thank you for letting me join,I am spending the day home alone just focusing on wahat I need to do for this weight loss and some cleaning and laundry.Sat back to work for me and I want to have my meals ready for the weekend.I have a recipe for brekfast cookies I want to make from the healthy girl emails[she has a site and cookbook] I am working to get back on track.I weighed today and am 212.6,so 0.6 gain which a few days ago looked like it was going to be alot more.Excercise yesterday[Thur] was gardening, raking and pulling weeds for 45 min.
food: breakfast protein shake and pineapple lunch apple, slice cheese, protein bar dinner 1 1/2 cup pasta,4oz 90% lean ground beef meat balls, marinara I made from tomatoes from the garden snack dairy queen vanilla malt[family went out for icecream] I am going to start journaling my food daily,I see I need more fruits and veggies in my day,I hate those protein shakes, they make me nauseated and I am not going to drink them.I don't mind a little protein powder mixed in my yogurt. My doctor thinks the protein is important to not lose muscle and he wants 30 min exercise 5x a week.Have a great day!

Hello Ladies,
I was sidelined due to a minor car accident but I am backed and ready to rumble. I placed 2nd in my weight loss challenge by a stinking 2lbs. I keep telling myself that I am really the winner because if I was able to excercise or take Phen I would have won. I am not going to cry over spilled milk or an extra $300 the $200 I won was a blessing. I am glad to be back on the board. Good Luck to everyobe.

Hey everyone. How are you all doing? Things on my end have been going well. I have been eating properly and getting in my exercise. I have my family trip at the end of this week and I'm not where I wanted to be although I do hope to lose at least 2 more pounds by Friday. It will be a struggle but what the heck might as well try.
My hubby and I are buying our first home right now and the search is so frustrating and exciting. Right when we find something we both like, great neighborhood, everything it seems as though the house goes off the market. I'm freaking out cause we have to be in escrow by the end of this month. Thats when all the new lending laws take effect, which is not good news for first time home buyers. So this next week I'm spending all my time looking for a house. I'm going to start getting up at 6am so I can do my exercise before the children need to get up. I think it will be the only way to get it done. I'm babbling and stressed. I'm going to sit down, watch some t.v., and stay away from the MLS listing for the rest of the evening. Someone please pray that we find a perfect home for us. My hubby is not willing to compromise. He thinks its going to be easy to find the right house for our family. Sometimes I just want to smack him in the forehead and tell him to come back to reality. |

Hello all!! Welcome Newoutlook! This forum is great for venting, tracking and goofing sometimes not in that order. Good to have you!
Welcome back Kellgees. I'll say $200 will do just fine. That is a great accomplishment . Keep up the good work! Shannon- Buying a home is very nerve racking......for all parties involved. Dont smack hubby but keep your ground when it comes to the PERFECT house (or close to it). Sometimes we see things that our DH dont. I am sure the both of you will agree on a house that is in budget and ideal in size for family. Keeping fingers crossed for you. Check-in: Havent been exercising daily. Wt. today is 167.4 Nothing to write home about. Time is ticking and I am just a sittin'. Have to do better I know. Taking Phentermine 37.5 and I am not having my PHEN tastic feeling anymore. I don't want to eat everything but that's not because Phen is suppressing appetite as well that's b/c I know I shouldn't. HMMM.......................Which is kinda the purpose huh? LOL Going to doc about this. OMG!!! Anniversary is a' coming!! I am excited about this. QUESTION: My stomach has gone down a lot but whats left will not let go. How can I get rid of this?? I do sit-ups and walk, jog, sprint. Also arms are starting to dangle like bat wings. HELP!!!!! Well got to do some work around here. UNTIL............................. |

Hey Queen. You always have such a great outlook on things.
As for the tummy... Doing sit ups (bicycle crunchs are the best) will help to pull the muscles up and in. You also need to keep up the fat burning cardio. That is the only way to get rid of the layer of fat over your tight new tummy. I am having the same problem right now. My tummy has gone down tons although my lower tummy is a problem. For me, I think a lot of it can not be solved without surgery. My ab muscles seperated during my pregnancies so I will need to get that repaired. Also, my skin is so strethced out, it never bounced back from pregnancies. Not pretty but thats life. I know if those things get fixed surgically that my tum would be washboard flat. As for the arms, lift weights. Tighten those muscles. Do not get discouraged. It will take longer for your skin to firm up. It is something that happens often when people lose a good amount of weight quickly. Give it a few months (about 6) and see how it looks after that. Check-In: Doing good so far. I have been off of Phen-D for about 9 days now. I have not gained any weight back. WOOOHOO!!! Although, I have not lost either. But I think that is because I'm just at a plateau right now. I plan on starting my 2nd 10 week program next week. Getting back onto Phen-D to lose the last bit of this weight. I was very worried that I would gain weight back once I got off Phen-D. I'm very happy that I have not. I am not so worried about the next time when I end the program for good. Keep up the great work ladies. Anyone want to post progress pictures? |

Found myself in a mood the last two days,PMS I believe.I have not been following my diet and I have been eating alot of sour candy and salt and vinegar chips.I gain so easy from salt and I can't seem to get enough of it and the water weight stays around till after TOM which should be soon but is irregular. Also the Phen puts me in a mood combined with PMS.I would feel better if I avoided the salt but I crave it.I have high b/p and the salt bothers me.I find too that on my diet, lowfat, higher fiber,1200-1500 cal that I eat more salt just because the food isn't as tasty with the low fat.My friend at work said, don't you just pee the salt out?Trouble is with me I don't get rid of it quickly and it effects my weight for a few days and then I gain on the scale and get frustrated. My favorite condiment is Franks Red Hot sauce and I love it on popcorn and in soup [or on anything else].Which is great for lowfat low calorie but not great on the salt.I can gain 2-3 pounds from either one of these.I am goint try and do better today!
Kellgees-Welcome back! How did it turn out at the doctors? QueenofdaHylls-I noticed that after the babies abs are just never the same,SHess2004 has the best advice for the cardio and spot work. SHess2004-Great job, especially without Phen. What is Phen-D? Have a great day everyone,I am going to try and get out of this hormonal funk!

Well I'm back after taking a few days away. How is everyone progressing? It is nice to see that we have someone new join us. Welcome Weightwatcher.
I started back on Phen-D today. WooHoo! The 2 weeks off wasn't that bad. According to the clinic scale I lost 1pound although my home scale says I'm the same weight as I was before. No biggy considering I spent the last 3 days at amusement parks drinking soda (which I never do anymore) and eating junk food. I really was not that sticted with my food while not on Phen-D and I did not gain anything back. I'm really happy to be back on program and I'm ready to get rid of the rest of this weight. My goal is within sight. I would love to get to 130lbs although I would still be very happy at 135lbs. I am currently 15-20lbs away from my goal. I never thought I would be so close. Seriously, I never thought I could lose the 35lbs I have already lost. It is very empowering (did I spell that right). Newoutlook- Phen-D is short for Phendimetrazine. It is taken twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. It has similar effects as Phen athough the side effects are less with Phen-D. For example, I have read that many people who start Phen have many sleepless nights. When I started Phen-D, I actually fell asleep earlier (10pm as oppossed to 1am) and got better sleep. Another major difference with Phen-D is that it does not completely kill your appietite. You will get hungry although it helped me learn portion controll and how to be satisfied not stuffed after a meal. I think Phen-D is great becasue once I am back in the "real world" I will notice my hunger cues and be able to satisfied them properly. I will not have to worry about going from one extreme (not feeling hungry at all) to the other extremem (feeling starving because I have no assistance). Our ultimate goal is to lose our excess weight and keep it off. I do not know if Phen or Phen-D have any advantages over each other because in the end it is our actions that will help us lose weight. My best advice is make sure you are making changes now, early in your program, that will support you for when you stop taking Phen. Check-In: I'm back!!!! Thats it. Just kidding. I'm back on my program, I'm back to eating right, I'm back to consistant exercise, I'm mentally back and ready to complete my challenge. I recieved a whole bunch new exercerise dvds that I will be starting today. So far today I am on point with my food. Just had a snack of laughing cow cheese (35 cals) and celery sticks. Oh those are so yummy and good for you. It almost makes me feel guilty because I enjoy them that much. My goal for the week is to ride 20 miles. Oh, just for giggles I had someone, who used to be a friend, text this to me the other day: "Hey ____, Looking good! Those doc p'scribed speed pills are working great. Keep it up." I can't even begin to explain why we aren't friends anymore. LMAO!!! I know other people have been met with resistance such as this. And all I can say to do is laugh in their face. I got the biggest kick out of that remark. Do not let other people dismiss all your new changes and hard work by claiming that a "miracle pill" is responsible for your weight loss. You are the reason that you are losing weight. It's not some pill that does all the work for you. |

H'lo all!!
Welcome weightwatcher-NJ: No, you are not the only one with a scale fetish. LOL. And guess what it doesn't go away!! I just hopped off the scale about 30min. ago. Considering getting a Wii I have heard a lot of good things about it.. Shannon- I feel the positive vibe from your post. Thanx I really needed to read that. Time to focus. Check-in: I saw 165 pds. on the scale 30min. ago. Hmmmm....I refuse to get excited. YEAH RIGHT!!!!! I just cant get over myself. I walk around like a brown peacock all day....just a strutting!!! LOL. I really dig the way I keep catching hubby's eyes on my sexiness. SORRY ladies, I know TMI but heck I feel like being full of myself. I have 5 pds left until I set my new goal on 9-24. Oh yeah, my new method for constipation is completing crunches and squats. Hey, for some weird reason I have to go right after. TOM has left the building and I am happy that I didnt bloat up this time. Guess I better do some work around here. Take care all. UNTIL....................... |

Today has chocolate muffin, breakfast, lunch lean cuisine pizza, green giant steamed veggies, snack popcorn, dinner rice and veggies, baked chicken.I need to get some fruit in.Walked 20 min at lunch.

Hi Ladies- Looks like everyone is on the right track and doing well. I will admit I am obsessed with my scale as well. It is compulsive and a bad habit. (Smacking my hand.) So, I weighed myself after working out today, it said 147lbs. Um, I usually weigh myself in the morning so I will wait until then for the celebration party lol.
This week has been crazy busy! Although, I am making sure that I take my snacks, plenty of water, and making time for exercise. If my scale was right and I'm 147lbs then I am within 12-17lbs of my goal weight, which is 130-135lbs. I told my hubby and promised myself that once I am between 10-15lbs of my goal weight then I am going to schedule my plastic surgery to take care of the mess that was left to me after having children. Seriously, I can't believe that I have met a large goal of mine. It is almost better than reaching my goal weight. LOL, almost! What is a major reward that you plan to give yourself upon accomplishing a major goal? I'm really curious what everyone is going to do for themselves and what is keeping them motivated. How exciting! Keep it up ladies. We are kicking you know what! |

I weighed myself this morning and to my surprise the scale says 147lbs. I'm shocked and am almost in disbelief. It is a great feeling.
Oh, who ever recommended dieters tea for constipation I love and hate you. I'm sure you understand why. The tea is very effective but, for anyone who has not had to use it yet, I strongly suggest having it in the privacy of your own home. I'm a stay at home mom although this week is jam packed with meetings for pta, girl scouts, and cheerleading. I have 2 meetings today in about an hour. I think and pray I will be alright. At least now I know how effective this tea is and will better prepare my day when taking it. Hope everyone is doing great. Keep up with the eating and exercise. It is too hot around here to go riding for too long with my 2 year old. I will have to adjust my 20 mile goal this week. I will change it to doing 300 minutes of exercise. That averages out to 60 minutes a day for 5 days. Ok. I better get ready for my meetings. I notice now that I have lost a significant amount of weight that I feel like wearing makeup a lot more. I stopped wearing makeup for a long time because I didn't want anyone to notice me. Just wanted to blend into the walls you know. Now that I feel confident about my acheivement and body I dress up more now. I'm out of the mommy uniform of dingy t-shirt and sweat pants or whatever other ugly thing. I actually wear dresses and skirt again because my legs are looking hot from doing The Firm. Losing weight is great therapy lmao. |

Hello everyone, just checking in. I am off today and hope to spend the day getting back on track.TOM now but that usually makes me feel better than pms.Slept in till 11am and I took the whole pill.I only take half on days I work but that just isn't cutting it anymore.Haven't eaten yet,I usually eat breakfast but slept right through it.My weigh in at the doctor is 10/3,got to lose some by then.
SHess2004-You are doing a great job at your weight loss! And wow 300 min of exercise,I better get going with the exercise myself. QueenofdaHylls-Great job! Can't remember last time I saw those numbers on the scale. weightwatcher_nj- Excellent first week, how was the second?Have to admit I weigh myself daily and get annoyed easily when it doesn,t say what I want.

I'd like to know if I may join this daily check in as well. I am not on Phen yet but I have changed my diet and started walking. I am hoping to see some results next week. Keepingmy fingers crossed.
Also, my doctor does not prescribe Phen so I am going to a weight loss clinic on Oct. 1. Has anyone else ran into this problem with their doctors? Was your alternative a medical weight loss clinic? |

Welcome LilbigMama,of course you can join us.My regular family doctor does not believe in diet pills and would not give me any.I found a doctor in my area in the newspaper that is a regular family doctor and does "doctors diet plan" so I went there to get my phen.He is very nice and spends quite a bit of time with me.I have to return 10/3.

Hi all!
Welcome LilbigMama- A lot of doctors will not prescribe Phen. Good thing is there are plenty of weight clinics/doctors that will. My doc gave me exactly three months to boost weight loss. I noticed around the second month that I was literally "trained". Meaning- things that are not good for me I learned to stay away from. Now i have my moments when i grab those bad things. LOL. I just know to do better next time. GOOD LUCK and once again WELCOME! Shannon- I have complained enough about bat wings and stubborn tummy......so yes you guessed it I will reward myself with plastic surgery(tummy tuck, etc.) Hubby did not agree in the beginning but he is slowly coming around.LOL. Once I reach 150pds will see. Check-in: Still hanging on to 165pds. I have got to really PUSH on. I have 1 week left to reach goal. If not I will be just fine! LOL. I will keep on moving and succeed! I feel really good about reaaching my goal and moving to the next. Well gotta go......I will check-in prior to my trip and then after for updates and to see how everyone is doing. Keep up the good work ladies. UNTIL........................................... |

Hey everyone, welcome Lilbigmomma! Well nothing exciting to report. Just another day in paradise. It has was so busy last week and looks like this week is more of the same. I am changing the time that I workout so I am sure to get exercise into my day. I will be waking up at 6:15am so I can exercise before anyone else in the house wakes up. This will be a big change because I am not used to waking up early. Anyhow, I resolve to workout 300 minutes this week. I really want to hit a weight loss of 3 pounds. It is becoming much harder to lose weight now that I'm getting close to my goal. But I will push hard to make it.
Keep up the great work. See you all later. |

Hey Beautiful Ladies!!
I am so glad to be back on track again. I am newly single. I was so depressed. I also suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. It flared up again after over a year. I now have to take cymbalta to control the anxiety, paranoia and horrible nightmares. The brain is a mysterious thing. lol Anyway, whenever I stopped posting is when I started the cymbalta and the drama. lol. I had so many things to deal w/ I didn't have time to post. I had taken zoloft and phen before and I know some docs put patients on a phen-antidepressant cocktail. So its ok to do both. Taking cymbalta and phen was too much for me. I really couldn't eat; was very hyper; and couldn't sleep. I stopped taking the phen and maintained my weight. My body is a little more used to the cymbalta 60mg. This is my second day taking both. I have lost a pound so far. I don't think I will take phen everyday b/c although not sleeping much isn't affecting me I like to sleep. lol. Plus the cymbalta suppresses my appetite to. The two together is really helpful. Is anyone else having this experience? If so, how are you feeling?

Hello ladies! My name is Jessica and I would love to join your group. I am a 20 year old college student majoring in nursing. I have been overweight all my life and went to the DR. to have the new metabolism test and found that I have a metabolism of -56%. It seems that normal is 40% ~ -10% so I guess you could say mine is a bit on the low side ha-ha. The Dr. put me on 30mg and it seems to be working. I have been on phentermine for a week now so I hope things will continue to progress as they have. Nice to meet all of you!

I have been so anxious a/b someone posting a thread so I could respond. LOL!! I have missed you guys so much I check the board to see if anyone has posted anything. LOL. I know. . . . . I'm a dork.
Welcome to all the new ladies. You will find plenty of support from all of us. I love the Buddy Board. Although I can't see anyone, I still feel motivated to stay on track. I feel bad if I don't meet my goal sometimes. Well, I am down to 151. I'm happy a/b it but I wanted to be at least 10lbs lighter than that by now. But oh well. I have set a Major goal of 125-130 by DECEMBER 1. I plan to lose 2-3 lbs per week. So I hope you guys hold me accountable! Have a good day!

Hi Everyone!!! It's been a while since I've been on here. Even though I haven't been checking in I've been staying on track. I am down to 145lbs, which I never thought I would reach. I am still working out regularly. My body really has transformed over the past few months. I get so many compliments from friends and family who last saw me at my heaviest. They just can't believe how great I look. I'm also happy to announce that I fit into a size 6/ 8 pant now. I'm in disbelief. I'm actually between the two sizes. I'm getting so close to my ultimate goal. I wanted to get down to a size 5 but I'm not sure if I want that anymore. I've very happy and satisfied at a comfortable size 6. I really want to firm up more though. Cut some fat and define the muscles more.
Anyhow, how is everyone else doing with their journey? It is nice to see some new people with us. This support group is really great. It will help you get through the mental and physical tough times that changing your life brings along. I needed to take a bit of a break recently. As a mother and wife I'm stretched a bit thin right now. I needed some time to rejuvinate myself and my attitude. So keep up the great work everyone. I'm looking forward to hearing more from everyone. Let's really push through this week and reach our goals. |

I have been hit w/the plateau bug. Any suggestions? I have been sad lately. Sometimes I'm happy a/b single life and other times I cant help but cry. Maybe the stress of breaking up is partially the reason for the plateau. I am going to be a little more strict w/diet and exercise this week and see what happens. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Have a wonderful Monday tomorrow.

Hello to my online family!! Welcome to all new family members.
Good to see everyone is hanging in there. Thank goodness after that kick to my B-hind, I got back on track. Weight today is 164 pds. I am happy with that and feel like if I continue this way I will get to 150 in no time. This has been one insane journey!! I love every minute of it. I really needed Phen to help understand NOT to indulge in food. I have learned that when I am angry or feeling blue, instead of grabbing chips and cookies just take a long hard run. Makes me feel 100% better than feeling terrible after eating junk food. Going to continue drinking water and eating right. Take care all. UNTIL........................................ |

Hey everyone. Sorry to hear about your blues Nicol. As with any change in our lives there is good and bad. Just keep on trucking towards your goals. Don't let those slip by the waist side because then all those changes you have been making over the past weeks will be for nothing.
We another week down and weight wise I am still where I have been for some time now. I know I have been slacking lately. I don't get in as many workouts, my food choices are suffering, and I'm feeling lazy. I really need out of thise funk. I was doing so good for so long that I told myself "you can indulge now". I'm close to my goal. Actually, I've been rethinking if I want to lose anymore weight because I have very happy with how my body has changed. Although, I know I need to lose more in my hips/ thighs area. SOMEONE GIVE ME A KICK IN THE BUM!!!! Seriously! I'm eating the wrong foods so I get lazy. I'm not exercising as much because I feel like I don't have the energy. Honestly, all the junk food in my house needs to be thrown out. I have to start back and phase one of developing clean eating habits again. Let's see what next week brings me. I going to work at losing two pounds. |

Thank you SHess for the encouragement. I need to get off my lazy bum and work out more myself. Each week my w/o loses a day. lol I am down to 2 days now. You can't stop now!! We have the same goal weight. You're ahead of me right now but i could potentially catch up to you if you slack off. Maybe we can compete to see who gets there first.
Make it a challenge. When want to veg out on that pizza or not workout, picture me Running 3miles. lol. When you don't feel like working out look back at those old pictures. Or look ahead at the size clothes you do want to wear. Ladies. . . . . . . Winter is coming and we all know what that means. Holiday Parties, laziness, winter blues, wanting to snuggle w/our significant other/hubby/wife (got to be P. C. these days). lol. It is so easy to get comfortable. We need to really be strong for one another even if we have to check in more often. Maybe we can do weekly Challenges. Remember there is no use of taking your phen if you are going to eat bad. It's a waste of time and MONEY. My goal for the week is to lose 2lbs.

Oh, Nichol- It's On!
This is exactly the fire under me that I needed. I got lazy because I've already accomplished so much. This is the push that I need to get the rest of the way. We should also include weekly challenges to see "who could do the most". For example, who could walk the most steps in a week or ride the most miles in a week. We also need prizes are you up for that? Anyone else want to join in for a weekly challenge and prizes? I'll make up a little survey so we can all get to know each other better. Then, on a specific day, we will turn in the results of our weekly challenge. Once a winner is determined then I will put the remaining peoples names in a hat and pull one to see who will be awarding the winner their prize. The cost of the prize package can not exceed $5, not including shipping. Also if the person who awarded the previous weeks prize does not win the next weeks challenge, that person's name will not be inlcuded in the next drawing of names. This is so the same person will not be asked two weeks in a row to award a prize. Simple enough. SO WHO WANTS TO JOIN? So onto my check-in. I'm starting to see the scale move again. And yes it is in the downward direction. Of course my weight loss is going a lot slower than previously, but it is still going down. As of my weigh in today I am 142.5lbs. I was trying to wear a new pair of pants that I got about two weeks ago. I got a size 8 and now they are huge on me. I need a belt to keep them up. I also gave away all my bigger size shorts. I don't miss them and I am not keeping bigger size clothes around "just in case". We have vacation, Disney World, in 4 weeks. I am looking forward to working hard and firming up as much as possible before we leave. I hope to get in a half hour workout today. For the past two weeks each of my kids and my hubby has gotten sick. My little guy still has a fever (day 4), cough, and so far today he hasn't thrown up. I'm praying thats a good sign. It is hard to get anything done with the toddler feeling crummy. Ok, I'm off to get stuff around the house done. I look forward to people joining Nichol and I on our weekly challenge. Let me know in your daily check in if you want to join. I will then PM you a little survey which will be shared with everyone else on the challenge. That way who ever gets picked to award the prize that week can surprise the winner. Have a great day. Make great choices. |

Hey All. I'm checking in. I've been having trouble lately with this site. Has anyone else? Anyhow, onto my pathetic check in lol.
So today I didn't eat right nor did I exercise. i've gotten so far off the path I'm not sure where it is anymore. I am lucky that I have lost weight although I know that I really need to get back to good habits again. I swear it is so easy to relive old habits and have them take over quickly. Tomorrow I will eat right and exercise. I have noticed since I have been eating junk that I havem no energy anymore. Just proves that salads will give you unlimited energy and not make you fat. Ok so are we on for a race? Apparently I only have about 2 more weeks of my script left. After this I will not renew it. So I really need to get back to my great habits. Ok so :: ump pump pump::: Tomorrow I will be victorious! Did I spell that right? Oh well, you get what I'm saying.
