Angry Dealing...with heartburn!!!
I have heartburn daily......

I have since I put on the weight in the past 5 to 7 years....

I am tired of this it's literally a pain and I am sick of nexium and zantac and pepcid AC...

I think I have eaten more to keep the heartburn away....which has added to weight gain.

I gave up gluten 4 days ago....and I have seen a 95% drop in heartburn thus far....

I am really hoping weight loss and gluten free will do the trick...

How about you....?????

Try to make sure that what you are eating isn't too acidic. Also, make sure you don't lay down after eating. Drink a good amount of water to wash down the food. Just things I can think of for now. Also check with your doctor to see if you have gastroesophagial reflux disorder. I have this, and am told to take prilosec when it gets bad. Good luck.

I have gastroesophagial reflux disorder too in addition to a hiatel hernia ... even then I've only had heartburn during pregnancy.
Cut out spicy food and sleep w/ bed elevated a bit, works best for me, but I'm on nexium daily. So that's the biggest contributing factor.

Hope yours stays at bay

Donna I do not know the reason and believe me I have searched!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But while on phen the heartburn or throat burn-- I actually never felt the heartburn ---gets so much worse!!!!! You may even find that you have trouble with your throat and swallowing is difficult at times. Also, you may feel as though there is a lump in your throat and thick sticky saliva also. This can become debilitating. I put up with it.......because getting the weight off is important. BUT you must stay regular in the potty too (because phen is constipating) or the reflux is soooooooooooo bad!!! no place for it to go but in your throat.
you may begin to feel as though you have post nasal drip also...Once again..........mylanta is a life saver.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep a bottle of pills in your purse and ALWAYS have water in hand. Do not allow the throat burn to get out of control as you know it causes tissue damage that can lead to cancer down the road !!!!!!!! I was miserable with this.Actually scared at times because I couldn't make my throat swallow..Stay on top of this....NEVER don't get your total water in for the day.
