Hey there, I'm on WW too. Glad to know that there are others. I've done WW on and off for about 4 years; what questions do you have? I feel like sort of an expert....except I'm a better teacher than student I think. I need to get re-motivated on it so this will be good. Are you doing points or core? I do points b/c I like to know how much and what to eat; I'm not good at the eat until you are full thing. Are you on or off phen right now? I take it on "hard" days, days that I feel like I just can't do it on my own. It is usually about 2-3 days a week, if I take it every day it loses it's effect on my totally.

**edit-just read your siggy; your on points and off of phen. Yay-good for you!! Do you use your flex points or try not to? Is this your first time on WW or have you done it in the past?

Thanks for the response...In the past I tried ww but did not have the will power to stick with it. Now I am older and wiser and it makes more sense to me now. If I eat it, log it!!! I don't do the meetings, I feel I have enough will power and I have others to motivate me, like this forum. I do the points for the same reason as you, because I know how much I am eating and I am being accountable for all that does go in my mouth, plus calories and portion control are key!! I am off Phen right now. Have not taken it in about geesh its been over two weeks now. Since left for my cruise on the 4th. I had bad headaches when I stopped. I guess withdrawals. But I felt I could do it on my own. I gained 5 lbs on that cruise and started WW and lost them again. WITHOUT my friend Phen.LOL I know I can do it. I will work out 4 days a week at the gym. The elliptical is my best friend now. I used to be so intimidated of that thing. NOW I work the heck out of that thing!!! I kinda got frustrated with the phen felt like it was not doing anything for me.I have one more month coming from my doc. I think I will get the refill, but will use it only when I feel like I need a boost ya know. SO what do u do as far as meals especially breakfast, thats the hardest for me, i dont like to eat it...lol

Breakfast....the meal of champions-ugh!! I hate breakfast b/c I am always so rushed. I usually wait until I get to work for it and have a lower-sugar oatmeal and a yogurt (it takes two food groups to make a "meal"). That logs in at 5 points. Then I wait for lunch and have a WW lunch-usually. I try to pack a smart snack for about 3:30 to 4 when I get the snackies-either a string cheese or a smart pop popcorn (the kettle corn is sweet and only 1 point per bag for the little bags). Dinner I try to cook something healthy or we'll end up having cereal and fruit or a sandwich with veggies. I try to get in all the fruits and veg but I'm not always good at that. I work full time and am a single mom so my time is so crunched all the time. This is my weekday plan. On the weekends-well, all heck usually breaks loose and it's my BAD time. I don't seem to plan as well and usually end up playing catch up in terms of tracking and pointing foods. During the week I am so good-if I bite it I write it; but oh the weekend woes. I try really hard not to use the flex points-that way if I do go over one day I'm not sunk. I do go to the meetings-mostly, some times I just can't; and I go weekly for weigh ins as that makes me feel accountable.

That is so great that you only gained 5 pounds on your cruise (hope you had a great trip) and that you have already lost it. WW is great and it does work; but you do have to work it.

As for exercise-I work out on the elliptical same as you; usually 4 days a week and then I also ride my bike or rollerblade some days too. I have horses so riding and cleaning stalls and such keeps me pretty active. I don't count activity points either though.

Thanks, I know I can do better. I just have to stay motivated. I had to realize that I did not gain this much over night, so I should not expect to lose it overnight either. I love that idea for breakfast. I like oatmeal and yogurt. Now the two food groups to make a meal...is that a given with weight watchers?

Hey-not nosey, no worries.

The two food groups to make a meal is what the WW leader always says; and it sort of makes sense to me. As for my points-I try to use the least possible early in the day and have plenty for the evening b/c that is when I seem to get the hungries. I also try to eat with my son so I need more points for dinner. I like to have breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and then usually have some points left for an evening snack too. I don't go by the new points guidline where you do the survey to determine your points I go by the old one where your weight determined your points and I have 30 points per day right now. Pretty soon it will drop to 28, when I'm below 250.

How are you using your points right now? Are you trying to get in the 5 healthy guidlines everyday? I try but I'm not really consistant on getting in the 5 fruits/veg. I'm pretty happy if I can just stay with in my points range every day.

Me too weight determines points....I also try to spread my 30 points into 6 mini meals. To keep my metabolism revved up. I try and I mean try to eat at the same hours each day. I have my outlook set on my computer at work to pop up when its time to eat. I use 6 points for each meal, and 4 points for each snack... I dont eat after 7:30pm...at least I try most days I succeed. Im doing good so far incorporating my veggies and fruits in too.

I think that trying to eat at the same times each day is a good idea. May have to give that a go. As far as points go-I try to have more for meals (lunch and dinner) and less for snacks and b/f. But that's just what seems to be working for me right now. I know that I need to do better with the fruits and veg but hey no one is perfect Do you have any tips for the weekends? The weekdays I do great but on the weekends my schedule goes crazy and it's all out the window it seems....

yeh my snacks sometimes will be a protein like chicken or fish and a veggie...and some fruit like a fruit cup...I try not to eat so much snacks like sweets....I work out 4 to 5 times a week, and I can use the extra protein for my muscles...
