Hi Everybody!!!

I am soooo sorry, I have not posted in a while. I kinda fell off the hill lately, and have been doing horrible w/my diet. I don't know what happened, but I starting having the most horrible stomach cramps so I took a break from the phen and pigged out majorly!! =(

But my doctor's appt is a 2 week gap this time, so honestly, I don't know how my WI is going, but I can feel it in my stomach, I have gained weight back

Anyways, today is the start of a new week and I am gonna get back up there and see what I can do.

Shannon--I am soooo sorry that you did not get the results that you were expecting when you went for your WI. I know exactly how you feel though, but honestly, 4lbs in 2 weeks, is GREAT!! Really, they say the healthy way to lose weight is 1-3lbs a week, to ensure that you don't gain it back. I do see how you feel that way though b/c you lost 12lbs the first week in and that would definitely devastate me too, but you are doing great! I think everybody is having a hard time w/the water intake sometimes...I know I do, but the advice that much2live gave you is great! I find that it is easier to drink the water w/your meals, and it helps to fill you up faster also. That is great that you want to increase your excercise time to 1 hour a day, but that is a big jump from 30 mins, so don't get discouraged. Any excercise is better than none, and I am scared that you are trying to push yourself too hard. You are doing great, don't stress!!! Just like you always say to me, take it one day at a time b/c we can do this!!! =)

Billie Jo-(nice to finally know your name!!) Walking is great excercise I agree. It is hard for me to actually get out and walk though, I always feel like I am the vicitm of a horrible time crunch!! I am way happy to hear that your kids are doing better, and it is always great to see you in such high spirits!! That is totally an inspiration about how much weight your sister lost. I love hearing stories like that b/c it pumps me up to lose my weight too. AND-That makes me very angry about your daughter's teacher, that is horrible. I understand that teachers get frustrated too, but Geez....if she picked that job, she needs to learn to have a little more patience, and bless your little girl's heart. I am very sensitive too, so I can just imagine how she feels. I hope your meeting goes well.

Sorry It took me so long to post. Maybe that is why I fell off so bad this week, b/c I did not have you guys to get me back up. Have a great week and I promise to check in more!!

Kris-I am so glad you're back!!!! The most important thing is that you didn't give up completely. It takes courage to fall down and get back up so hats off to you. I couldn't tell you the number of diets that I have been on that when I "cheat" 1 time I completely give up. And then, I end up taking the word "Diet" out of my vocabulary and gain back everything I lost plus some. You have me pegged right though about "overdoing" it. I am such an overachiever/perfectionist at everything I do. I can't halfway do something and feel good about it. If I can't do it right, then I won't do it at all. It's really a burden to feel like that about every single thing. I think a lot of it stems from the insecurities I have about my weight. It's like I have to prove something to the world....that I may be overweight but I can still do whatever I set my mind to and do it well. With dieting, I don't have the confidence that I can succeed. I am so scared all the time that I am going to fail at this and I know that if I can't give it my all, that I will quit all together. I am trying to keep the right mindset and determination and set goals for myself. Posting them on here helps to keep me accountable for at least attempting them. 1 day at a time!!!!!
I know I shouldn't have been whining about only losing 4lbs. cause at least I wasn't gaining. LOL, I just wanted it to be soooo much more. Oh well, maybe next time.

Billie Jo- That just makes me sooooo angry about your daughter's teacher. There are so many teachers in classrooms that shouldn't be there at all. I think a lot of times that people forget that children are humans too and they have feelings just like we do. I have completed lab experiences in 4 different schools and the way that some of those teachers talk to the kids makes me sick. I always try to treat other children like I want mine to be treated. In fact, I am harder on mine than anybody else's. Classrooms should belong to the students. They are the ones that are going to be cooped up there all day long and it's their education that is at stake. They should be in an environment that they feel welcome and secure because so many studies show that when this isn't happening, effective learning isn't taking place. And besides, who wants to spend 8 hours with someone yelling all the time???
I hope that your meeting goes well. It's horrible being stuck with a bad teacher. We went through that last year. And, I honestly think that God had me go through that so that I could see the parent's perspective before stepping into a classroom as a teacher. Between my labs and my daughter's school, I have learned A LOT about what I don't want to do as a teacher, LOL!!!!!!

Once again I write a novel...lol. You guys are just so easy to talk to;I get carried away

Anyway, another day down (well almost) and another day to a slimmer, healthier us. We can do this!

TTYL, Shannon

Hi Everyone!!!

Just wanted to see how everyone is doing so far this week!! So I was bad yesterday b/c we went to a restaurant that had king crab legs 16oz for 14.99 and I had the crab leg feast of them all, it was sooooooooooo good. I did opt for the white rice instead of fried or potato though...but I ate 3 rolls...OUCH!! I am such a fatty, but I am craving everything. But I did do a little aerobic excercise stuff...

But on a good note, the lottery is up to like 355 million, so I am going to the gas station and buy some lottery tickets!! YAY, I never, ever play that stuff, but I don't know...maybe addiction to lottery is better than addiction to food.

Anyways, on a serious note, I am terrified about going to the doctor on Saturday, b/c I always do so good, and this time it was a 2 week break between doctor appt's and I don't think that I am going to do so great. But we will see. My bathroom scale seems to say the same things it said 2 weeks ago, so I don't think I lost anything, but I can't go completely off of that b/c the scale at home and at the doctor's do not coincide.

So I have a question for you guys....When you go in for your WI, do you always wear the same clothes to your doctor appts? I always wear the same clothing, shoes, bra, etc ( I wash them of course!!) so that I can try to get the most accurate reading of how my weight is changing. Just a thought though!!

HA, see I write novels too, it is so easy to go on and on, wouldn't it be great if we all lived close to eachother???? Anyways, I hope that ya'll are doing great!! Another day over and another pould closer!! =)

I am off to a great start meeting my exercise goal for the week. We have a large field separating our house from my in-laws and we walked around it 10 times last night. I had my husband get in his truck and drive around it to see how many laps make a mile and it was 5.....so we walked 2 miles in a total of 44 minutes. I felt sooooooo good afterwards. But boy did my legs hurt this morning, lol. I only got 40 ounces of water in yesterday though. Gotta keep working on that. Today I have already gotten in 40 ounces so maybe I can down another 24 between now and bedtime.

Kris-Bathroom scales are an ugly word at my house, lol, so I don't even own any. Therefore, I have only weighed twice (at Dr.'s office) since starting my diet and I don't think I really thought about wearing the same clothes. It makes sense though. Especially the shoes. I have some really heavy shoes. Hey, maybe that's why I only lost 4 1/2 pounds last time!!!!! Hmmmm not a bad idea at all, I can blame it on the shoes. LOL! Next time, I will wear flip-flops (big grin). Maybe WI won't be so bad. And after your "bad" week, if you have just maintained what you had already lost, that would be good.
How did you do today?

I always joke with my husband about winning the lottery but, Kris, like you I never play so my chances of winning is like, ummm.....NONE, lol. But good luck to you!!!! Maybe you will strike it rich.
What kind of aerobic exercise did you do? I would love to have an easy beginner type progam to do-Something to do inside when life is just too hectic to get out.

It would be GREAT if we all lived closer together. I am such a talker (like you haven't already figured that out by my lengthy posts). I can go on and on and on sometimes. If only talking burned calories, I would be in good shape.

Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing great!I read this inspirational quote today and thought I would share.....
"There are two ways of meeting difficulties: you alter the difficulties, or you alter yourself to meet them." Phyllis Bottome

Have a wonderful night everyone! We are almost through another day!

LMBO...You guys crack me up! I was feeling very aggrivated and stressed(it's a long story!..long story short, I got ripped off for $121 on eBay, GRRRR) any way....I thought I would log on to see if anyone had posted and BAM! ya'll are sooo funnyMelts my blues away!
Kris-i think it would be a riot to live close together so we could get together and visit! I think...that....when we all lose the weight we want, we should get together and bring before photos and maybe print some of our posts so we can look back and say WOW remember when.....we would have to figure out a half way point so it wouldn't be far for everyone to travel. That would be fun. Oh, and I never play lottery either My luck I would end up OWEING something LOL

Shannon-WOW! two miles is awesome. I am sooo very proud of you, seriously ,I have tears in my eyes! I walked ten laps around my sis's apartment complex yesterday, I'm not sure how far it was but I was guessing bout a mile and a half to two miles. I haven't had much water today either and I have been cleaning all day trying to get ready for my new carpet(YAY) so I haven't gotten to exercise today either. Oh and by the way, The very best low impact ,kinda easy, but very effective exercise program I have ever done(don't laugh) Richard Simmons Sweatin to the oldies 2. It is sooo much fun that even though you are tired it is kinda like you just came from a school dance where you danced your booty off! And it isn't a bunch of tone tight muscled 20 somethings that probably never had an extra inch of fat,it is real people who were losing real weight! I love it! It makes you say "hey, if they can do this, I can too!"Well, now that I have been cheered up and motivated I think i will go do laundry(YEE HAW)lol

Good Night , Billie Jo

Hey guys!!! I am feeling a bit discouraged right now and I need a pep me up!!! I lost seven pounds...tommorrow marks the end of my first week!!! HOORAY FOR THAT!!! I just wonder if I could have done better my first week out...Am I at a plateu or what? OR am I being just to hasty on it all. I did that 7 lbs with little or no exercise and just drinking my water and eating 3 meals and sometimes a snack or two a day. I find it hard to count my calories...But I am getting more fruits and veggies and have had only one piece of Red meat which I was a bad girl...I went to wendys and got a burger...and a side salad. I am feeling fuller faster. I exercised last night with my exercise ball. That thing is amazing!!! I never thought it could be so easy to do my crunches...LOL However I was a little scared of the thing...thought I would sit on it and it would burst...HA HA but i read the box it said it holds up to 1000 pounds...so I am safe!!! Any tips you all could give me on how to keep track of my calories. I am aiming for 1400-1500 daily to achieve loss. I am happy that I found you all to help me on my way. This forum is so motivating and it helps me see that I can do this!!! Thanks so much here is a pic of my loss at 6 pounds

Hey sugga, 7 lbs. in one week is fabulous! When I started on 1/20 I lost 16 the first week(mostly fluid I think)and the next couple of weeks it was only about 3 or four , then started losing about a pound a day and so far I have lost 26.5. I started out counting calories and fat grams, if you pay attention to serving sizes and look at them when you put your food on a dish after awhile you can just tell how much a serving size is and you don't have to measure.
I like to use the smart ones meals from weight watchers and lean pockets, it takes out alot of the guess work for me! You are soing great though, so keep up the good work!
By the way, You are georgous! Good luck this week!

Billie Jo and Shannon, Ya'll are doing great with keeping up the excercise!! Good Job!! I have been slacking the last couple of weeks with excercise...I don't know what my problem has been lately, but Yeah...not good

And Sugga-7lbs in your first week is AWESOME!! Great JOB!! And no, I don't think that you are at a plateau, yet that seems like a wonderful 1st week and your pic looks great. What Billie Joe said is correct. It is hard at first counting calories, but just watching the portion sizes on the labels helps, and the frozen dinners definitely take the guessing work out of things!! Keep up the great work, and don't hesitate to post when you are feeling down, or when you get that crazy urge to eat 3 chocolate cakes!! That is what I do, when I am about to eat something crazy usually, I read ya'lls post and let you know that my hungo-meter is caving in LOL.

Hope everybody is having a great week so far. I ate some nasty brussel sprouts (1 cup) and about 2 tablespoons of alreado noodles yesterday. YUM YUM LOL. We will see what crazy healthy creation I can come up with today at dinner. Lunch is usually never a problem for me though, but dinner is the tough one. I will try to post later tonight when I get off of work.

I almost forgot...Billie JO, I think that is a GREAT idea. We should totally find a spot on the map that is in between for all of us, and meet up so that we can see how much we have lost!! I would love to meet all of you in person. You guys keep me sane, and from eating twinkies and ding dongs all day!! Bye for now!!

Shugga, I have heard that headaches are a side effect of phen. I hope that is all it is or just a regular headache. Post as soon as you can and let us know how u r feeling.

daqui! I am so glad to hear from you! i was wondering where you were! The weather was great here today too. It was 66-70 degrees and sunny, a little windy, but ya'll shoulda seen all of the kids at sis's apt. complex flying kites! they were everywhere. While they were flying kites me and a couple of my friends walked 12 laps around. I think that is about 2 miles, and I coulda done more! a few weeks ago I was dying just walking to the mailbox!

Kris- twinkies and ding dongs (lmbo) you crack me up! but i know just what you mean( i can't stop smiling and hubby thinks I'm crazy)! I think I would be in trouble with out the 100 calorie packs! I just found hostess cupcakes in the 100 cal. packs, yummy! I love the carrot cakes! also the chips ahoy are awesome and I can't keep em for the kids! I think having some good for ya sweets around keeps me from cheating and I only eat them at snack time.

Tomorrow(oops, It is tomorrow!)is my oldest daughters birthday, she is 11. It makes me so sad in a way that she is growing up so quickly. I really dread the teens, everyone says they change so much that it's like your kid left and in comes some grouchy stranger. I hope that doesn't happen with my Katie. She has always had the sweetest personality and I hope that doesn't change.ahhhhhh, anyway, I need to go to bed because it is 3 am here and I have much to do when morning comes. dont worry this is the norm for me it isn't phen induced insomnia! Hubby doesn't get home til 1 am from work and I can't rest til he is home safe and sound.

Hello Everybody!!!!!
Shugga- I really hope that you are feeling better by now. 7 pounds in 1 week is AWESOME!!!! I am so excited for you. As far as counting calories, I am on a 2000 calorie diet(because I have a million pounds to lose, lol) and my doctor suggested breaking the calories down into meals so that I had a limit that I could have for each meal. I checked the calories religiouly at first but once I found food combinations that kept me under my limit and were still satisfying, I wrote them down and now I know what I can have without having to count calories. I do this mostly for lunch and I have kind of gotten stuck in a rut because it has gotten to where I just eat the same thing day in and day out. I am satisfied though and not still hungry so I guess that's what counts. Supper is a little more challenging because I am feeding my family as well and since I am on a mission to improve our eating habits for life, I am trying to prove-especially to my 10 year old- that healthy food can be good. Heck, who am I kidding???? I am still trying to prove this to myself, LOL! Anyway, try playng around with different food combinations- counting the calories- and when you get one you like, write it down for future reference. And like Kris said, anytime you feel discouraged or like you can't get through something post a comment or even reread some of the posts to keep you motivated. Sometimes just writing your frustrations helps you to feel better (for example- "the in-laws driving me insane post" previously posted, lol)We are here for each other as a support team and we all want everyone to succeed. So if there is ever anything I can do, let me know!!!!!!!

Billie Jo- Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!! to your oldest daughter. I know what you mean about it being kinda sad. My daughter will be 11 this year also and she is growing up soooooo fast. Questions (that I thought I had a few more years to think of a reply for) are being asked. I recently went to the Christian Book store to find some good ammunition for some of thes
