Hi Trina,
I am desperately needing a buddy. I don't have anyone to share this journey with. I work at home and have 3 boys: Justin - 11, Joshua - almost 10, and Nate - 5 and 3/4 (according to him). Right now I weigh 182, but I want to get down to 150. I dream of weighing 130 or even 140, but I don't think that is very realistic. When I married at 18, I weighed 140-145. I'm now 31.
I am online almost everyday, usually numerous times.
Wanna be friends?

Hi there crazeemom24. I'll be your buddy. I am 35 and work full-time with 3 boys, 15,13 and 4. I am also vertically challenged at 5' tall. After I had my first 2 boys I gained alot of weight. I was preg. 7 mos. and had a one year old when my first husband and I split up. I was only 22-so combined with my age and the emotional stress I was able to get the weight off. I remarried and had my 3rd son at 31, plus I work a job that requires long hours and sitting. I'm having a hard time getting the "baby fat"off. I just started my "diet meds" and doing LA weight loss. I need some motivation to find time to exercise. Sorry for novel that I just wrote, but I hope we can be support to each other. Oh yeah, I currently weigh 164 and also have a goal of 120.

Hello Ladies!!!

Why don't we share this journey together? If two heads are good then three heads together should be awesome!!

I am online numerous times throughout the day and am very encouraged with adult talk, if you know what I mean . . . LOL

It gets very stressful only being around children all day, every day. My husband is in Louisianna for the next month or so. This is my first time really alone with the kids. My oldest used to help me out quite a bit. But I am finding that it is not that bad, just a daily challenge!!!

Let me tell you how I gained all the weight that I have! I used to be a size 3 when I was 18. I got pregnant with my 1st and gained 90 lbs, which was ALL water weight. When I was that big I swore that it would never happen again. (Little did I know!!!) After I had my 2nd at 24 I had my wisdom teeth pulled. Well, needless to say, the dentist really didn't do that good of a job. It ended up that I had that flesh eating bacteria in my jaw muscle and it was closing my mouth up, kind of like lock jaw. After a month of calling the stupid dentist he finally let me come in to see him. At this time I had enormous headaches, along with my jaw closing so much that I couldn't eat anything anymore except things like jello, I had this big lump on the side on my temple. He immediately sent me to an oral surgeon who did emergency surgery on my head. They found the bacteria growing in my head and informed me that I was VERY lucky, I would have been dead within a week. Anyway, to make a longer story shorter, I couldn't eat for so long and lost so much weight that when I could eat I REALLY ate. I think that is where the gaining began. Then, after 2 more c-sections here I am. . .

So, anyways, I have been taking phen since April 18. Don't own a scale so I don't know if I have lost anything or not. I plan to go into the dr's office Tues or Wed to check for the 1st time.

If you would still like to join me in my journey, here we go . . .

Let's hear your stories now!!!

Trina

Hi ladies.
Trina, that's very scary to hear about your bacteria experience. I'm glad you are alright now. I've never met anyone who actually experienced that.
jenhen, I don't know about you, but I thank God almost everyday that I have boys and not girls!!!

My story isn't very exciting. I have never been skinny. Growing up I wasn't fat, but definately bigger than most of my friends. I swam competitively for 10 years, usually 10 months of the year, so that probably kept my weight in check. After my 1st child, I lost everything but 5 lbs right away. Then after my 2nd child, I added another 5 (putting me around). I kept my weight at a constant of 155-160 until in 1998-99 I finally got a year of schooling in at Purdue. I did the freshman 15 thing so I wouldn't miss out!!!!!!(except it was more like 25). Eating fast food 3x a week definately did on a number on me. Then 2nd semester I was there 5x a week plus I got pregnant with my 3rd child. By the end of the pregnancy I weighed around 198. Although when I did find out I was pregnant I did start eating healthier and only gained 13 lbs in 8 months. Since then my weight has fluctuated from 175-190. One and a half years ago I did lose 30 lbs and got down to 160 by eliminating 2/3 of my carbs and doing exercises for 15-20 minutes a day. But then Christmas came, and went, and I was so sick of eating mostly protein.
I can't afford a gym membership, but even if I could, I wouldn't have the time to go. I do exercise at home. I am trying to do it more consistently though. I have started doing my exercises faithfully again, but do need to do more aerobic. I HATE to sweat though, and unfortunately I sweat too easily. I am addicted to the scale, but I only record it on Thursdays. That is when I do my measurments also.
I know this is a book, and I am sooooo sorry if I put you to sleep. I guess it will help us to motivate each other if we know each other's stories.
Jennie

Hi you gals! Ok, we are on our way. Wow crazee, your story was pretty scary, I'm glad you made it ok. Lady...that is awesome that you are motivated enough to exercise at home. We just bought a new home and moved our weight system and treadmill from the garage of our old home into a room of the new home. I'm hoping that it motivates me to get on the things. I used to work out alot at the gym after my first 2 boys, and because of that the weight came off fairly easy w/o really having to watch what I ate. At 30+ it is harder to do. Our new home is in a community that has a great walking trail, I don't know yet the distance you have to go for a mile, but I did walk/jog around it a couple of times and got my heart rate up. I weigh in at LA weight Lose every other day and meet with a counselor to discuss my daily food journal so that helps me stay faithful to my diet. I didn't lose any weight over the weekend so it was a frustrating visit. Oh well...it has to come off. Maybe Wednesday morning will be a better
weigh in. Well it is getting late and I need my beauty rest. Talk to you guys later and thanks for being my buddy

Good Morning Ladies!!! Hope everyone is off to another great day! It seems that we are all pretty much in the same boat. I, too, exercise at home. I get up an hour earlier than I used to, to do 45 min of pilates and then do weights for 2 sets on each of my arms, triceps, biceps, shoulders and chest. Plus 50 leg lifts on each leg and 50 crunches. The crunches kill me what with having no real muscle strength left in my abs. But I take 1 day a week and give myself a free day with no exercising and a higher calorie input. I also take the weekends off from taking phen. I have to prove to myself that it is not the phen that is helping me to lose the weight, that it is actually my self control with a little nudge by the phen, know what I mean?

You guys are about as bad as me with the age differences of the kids!! Only you guys are backward compared to me!!! Plus I would have LOVED to have all boys!!! I can't imagine my two younger girls being teens together, UUUGGGGG!!! You two are SO lucky!!

I agree that it is SO much harder for us 30+ ladies to get rid of the extra weight!!! Too bad there isn't just a fast metabolism pill out there to take and *poof* you would lose it all in a week!!! But we CAN do it!! Although I want to lose as much as you 2 put together. That is kinda sad to me, that I let myself go this much!! Oh well, I am pretty determined to get it gone!!!

Lady, I don't know how you went without carbs!!! OMG, I just cannot stay away from breads, I think that they are just drawn to me, LOL.

Jen - They check you every other day? That just seems like a lot to me. It seems that they would limit it to like 1x a week. How many calories do they have you on?

Well, ladies, I guess it is time for me to end my chapter of this book for the night. So, I will be chattin' with you in the morning.

- Trina

Good morning!!!
It sounds as if I better get my rear in gear and start doing aerobic exercising more consistently to catch up with the two of you! I have plenty of exercise tapes, and I have The Firm set, but some of the exercises really hurt my knees. I have always had weak knees & ankles, so I can't even hardly jog without one giving out. I liked the firm though because it combined aerobic and weights. Getting 55 minutes in without any interruptions is impossible though. I do child care at home, plus my own, equals constant chaos!!! My youngest is always asking to ride his bike down the road, so I try to do that with him so I can get at least 1/2 mile of walking in 3-4 times a week. Better than nothing!
I didn't cut the carbs completely. That would have been impossible. But instead of having 4 pcs of white toast for breakfast I would have 2 scrambled eggs and only 1 pc. of oat bran toast or only 1/4 c of rice instead of a whole cup (still had to load the butter on!!!!). I love white bread, rolls, breadsticks... It is very hard to say no. Also, this being baseball season, and all 3 of mine play, at least 1 all the way to the end of July, I have to deal with the concession stands: Nachos and Cheese (extra cheese of course), Pretzel and Cheese... Extremely hard to say no. And of course we are there at least 4 nights of the week. No wonder I have a weight problem. I have no willpower against food.
I keep meaning to add my name at the end, I feel bad because you put yours out there immediately, Trina. I tend to make these long, don't I!!!

Hello all!! Hope you all are having a great day!!! I am doing ok, I guess. I was running late this morning and only got in 30 min of pilates. I had to take my youngest to pre-k. That means getting all 3 kids up early, getting them dressed, doing hair, brushing teeth, ect!! Very hectic!! Then I went over to a friends house where she roped me into helping her clean up her mess of a basement. Didn't expect that!!! Anyway, finally got home to eat lunch, didn't have breakfast!! I am having a couple of ribs for lunch. Plan on roast for dinner. Kids want McDonald's though. Sometimes they win, depends on how much whinning they do!!!

Anyways, it could get confusing in here with both a Jen and a Jennie . . . maybe my name should be Jennifer

I wouldn't worry about the exercise so much Jennie. It seems that with all the kids around you that you are probably getting quite a bit. When things quiet down at night I would think about maybe doing crunches or something to that effect just to get some ab work in.

This is the 2nd time I have had to type this message. I hit reply the 1st time and it didn't post it. Do you guys ever get that?

I will be back later to check on you two!!

Trina

Hi ladies my name is Val. I am the mother of three, ages 12,10 and 8. I just started taking phentermine yesterday and I am so excited. I am in my 30's. I had three c-sections and gained 70 pounds in the last 14 years. My family has a history of diabetes and heart disease. I was searching the internet last night and came across this website and thought this would be perfect for me. I hope I can be as inspirational to you as your stories were for me. I have been walking on the tredmill for about 2 months, I started walking for 1 hour five days a week, when I weighed myself after 1 month I had gained 7 pounds and that was very discouraging eventhough I knew it was muscle, that was the last thing I needed to see. Then I decided to cut back to walking 30 minutes 5 days a week. I also workout with Gilad for 1 hour, I hope this works.
229 (1/24/07)
227 (2/07/070 -2
220 (2/23/07) -7
218 (3/03/07) -2
215 (3/24/07) -3 thank God
205 (3/30/07) -10 I cant't believe it, but thank God.
