Hey Lorie!

Here we are...positioned to take off the last few pounds. My hubby asked me last night how I was doing on my last 10 lbs. He has asked me that a couple of times. I think it is because I told him I was going to go on phen again to get the last 10 lbs off. I only bought a 60 day supply to take through the summer but I think he thinks it was kind of an unnecessary expense because I look fine to him. I guess compared to 215, I look like a Playboy model (without the boobs that is).

So I weighed myself this morning...I was kind of afraid because I felt like I had overeaten on vacation last week. Well...I weighed 152! I couldn't believe it.

I'm trying to get my enthusiasm back for the exercise. Don't get me wrong...I'm still plugging away...BUT I haven't really challenged myself in a long time. I have increased the weights from 5 to 8 and 10 lbs. I like to do the arm exercises.

You should be taking advantage of your "time off" from work to try a bunch of workouts to find one that you enjoy. I know it is a stretch but I'll bet there is SOMETHING you would enjoy (LOL).

Do you like to read magazines? There are a lot of good fitness magazines our there that have lots of great info...my favorites are Energy and Muscle and Fitness for Women.

Well - I better get my butt in the shower. I'll check in later today.

See ya chickee.

I love to read magazines. I consider it my entertainment! Ha. Ha. I don't have any health or fitness magazines though. Maybe I ought to purchase a few for inspiration. I'm always reading brain-dead entertainment magazines (ie, US, People, InStyle). I also look at a few home type mags too. But no health or fitness. Great suggestion though. I'm gonna do it!

You, know, I feel so bad but I never did read the magazine article KeliK was featured in. Did you? I looked for it, but I guess not hard enough. So, your recommentations are Energy and Muscle and Fitness for Women. I can honestly say I have never heard of them, but I'll look for them. Let me know of any others you find interesting. I would much rather have honest input by you than blind purchasing by me.

I agree with you on finding SOMETHING that clicks with me while I have the time to explore different exercise options.

I really do not mind the LifeFitness machine. It's a club quality machine we paid big bucks for. I just don't do it. BUT, I do have the time this summer, so I am determined to do it.

I feel like I should be taking advantage of the hot weather and swim laps instead of using the machine though. I can use the machine anytime, but I only have so many months to use the pool. The difficulty with this is obviously that my children want to play with me while in the pool. So, not as much excersize as I intend to do once I do get into the pool.

I'm surprised that you were able to fill your script. Any fibbing going on, or did you report the truth?

My hubby doesn't really think the ** is necessary. He doesn't say it, but in a 'round about' way. It sounds like your hubby thinks the same way. You look good, your healthy, why buy a ** to get you to a goal that's in your head, you can do it yourself. As if you wouldn't be doing it yourself anyway. Ha. Ha.

To tell you the truth, I understand both sides of this story. I wish I could do it w/out the aid of Phen to help me kick start things. But I do not have the confidence w/out it. I started back on Phen one week ago. I'm hoping that this will be it. Summer usage of Phen and then no more. But we'll see.

I'm really striving for 150 by the end of summer. It will really make me feel like I'M BACK to me again. I'll figure out what to next (once I get there). No more long distance goals for me, just short distances.

I'm positive you will be able to hit goal this summer. What a huge accomplishment that will be for you. I'm proud of what you've already accomplished, but I can only imagine how you are going to feel personally when you hit the magic number. Well, at least being in the 140's (FOR GOOD). Now doesn't that sound nice?

I have lots I could talk to you about, but I do need to get a workout in if I don't want you getting on my case.

Again, great idea!

Hey Lorie,

I stopped in at lunch time and saw you were logged on so I waited a few minutes to see if you were going to post and then logged off.

Yes I lied to get the phen. I went on line and said I weighed 175. Of course 155 at my height still qualifies but I didn't want to take any chances!

I am the same as you...shameless addicted to People etc....Definitely find the magazine called Energy...I love it. It is for normal people not just muscle babes. Yes I did read the article Kelik was in...it was in a Fitness magazine I had. I ****** out the page and told everyone that I "knew" her and now I can't find the page. It was a one page..."I Made It" type of article that you submit yourself. She did not mention phen or this forum but I understand why....too many people think that when you take the pill the fat just melts away...I have news for them, phen does not make my butt get out of bed at 4:15 am every morning!

I came here as soon as I signed on so I haven't been to the tredder post...where you there? I'm going to find out....

I'll be happy if I can maintain in the 140's like I have in the 150's. I really can't eat like I use to and it is nice to know that even if I eat non-stop I could not get back to 215 in a day!

I use to think...I just want to get further away from 200 and now I am 45 lbs away from 200!

Okay...I'm going to check out the tredder thread are you going to be proud or embarrassed?

See ya tomorrow!

Are you pleasantly surprised that I EXERCISED? Being held accountable certainly does create more of an urgency to work that into my daily routine.

Thanks for being the little angel on my shoulder, because the fireball of a devil on the other one is a smooth talker.

My goal is to wake up early and get some excersize done first thing in the morning. Tomorrow will be a busy, busy day.

A life long family friend of my sister's husband's family (get it?) died on July 4th. The service is tomorrow. I'm going to watch some of the younger kids so the adults can attend the service. They're catholic so the service, burial and rememberance will take a while. I probably will not be able to get a work-out in unless I do it before I take on daycare duties.

I also promised my SIL that I would help her with a garage sale. She's a TOTAL pack-rat and needs to do some serious cleaning out. I will drive down to her house late afternoon on Friday, help with the sale on Satruday morning and then come home late Saturday.

A nearby town has thier fireworks display the Saturday after the 4th every year. It's in a little hick town about 20 miles from my house. The display is beautiful and extravagent (sp?). I'm hoping I won't be too pooped to go enjoy the festivities. But who knows, I feel pooped now.

I'm feeling good, positive and ready to go. How about you? Are you ready, ready, ready, ready to run? I've gotta catch ya, I USED to be ahead, now I'm way behind! Hail to my inspriation. heh heh heh

Hello, Hello:

The little angel on your shoulder did NOT exercise this morning. I drank too much beer last night and decided to sleep in instead. Some co-workers and I went out for a couple last night. I didn't get home until 9:30 (I get off around 5:00). You can imagine how much beer I drank!

You sure are busy for an unemployed person. We thought we were going to miss fireworks this year. We didn't leave the water park until 8:00. We were on the ferry (crossing the Jamestown River in VA) on our way back to my BIL house after the waterpark and a bunch of people along the beach were doing fireworks. We watched them the whole trip (20 minutes).

I know what you mean about the angel and devil on your shoulder. I call them my "good" and "bad" voice. The more you ignore your bad voice the quieter it gets until it disappears all together.

I'm going crazy at work today....it is pay day and people come to HR all day with questions/complaints about their paychecks. I get interrupted ALL DAY! I'm so glad Ingrid has started (6/23). Soon she will be the one getting interrupted

Well - I better get back to work. I have a new hire coming in at 2:00 to fill out paperwork and I have a couple of other issues to take care of before had (one of them is eating a scrumptious brownie). I'll check in tonight.

PS. You should still exercise (if you can squeeze it in) even though I didn't....

Hi Buddy -

I know you are really busy today but I felt inspired to post to you something I think you can relate to - I am having a great cleaning day and I started thinking about how my cleaning moods impact how clean the house gets and I mentally made up this list:

WannaBe Cleaning Day - This is when I "think" I really want to clean and am really just waiting for the first distraction to deter me. Generally I squirt toilet cleaner in the toilets and it stays there for several hours because I am sitting on the bed watching "Trading Spaces", "While You Were Out", "American Castles" or some other riveting program. Generally the only thing that gets done is laundry, the toilets and the downstairs gets "straightened"

Normal Cleaning Day - This is when I don't really "want" to clean but I know it must be done or it will be hanging over my head the rest of the week. All the "standard" stuff gets done...laundry, bathrooms (except my shower-which I truely despise doing), sheets get changed, downstairs gets truly clean.

I am NOT the MAID Cleaning Day - This is very similar to the Normal Cleaning Day described above the only difference is that it is done with angry energy and I yell at the kids, the hubby and the cats throughout the entire cleaning day. Common comments - I wasn't put on this earth to clean up after you, Everything I find on the floor is going in the trash or to kids who appreciate toys, Am I the ONLY ONE who cares what this house looks like.

Superwoman Cleaning Day - This is where every single room gets a good cleaning - linens get cleaned down to the mattress pads, drawers get cleaned out of clothes that don't fit, bedrooms get dusted, bathrooms look like the belong in Better Homes and Gardens. This is done with lots of hugs and kisses to the family and graditude that we have such a beautiful house. Anticipation for the end of the day when everything looks perfect - even though we don't have company coming and the knowledge that I will feel great about the house until about Wednesday when it will go back to normal.

Today I am having a Superwoman Cleaning day. Thought I'd share and hopefully give you a smile. I'll check in later!

Good morning Lorie!

It has not been a good weekend for me...start late Saturday afternoon when I discovered that I had pink eye in my left eye. Hubby took Tony to the doctors that morning for his right eye.

I started using the drops that Tony got too because mine was bacterial (according to the symptoms on the internet). My eye got so swollen - almost down to my upper lip! It started to look a little better yesterday (swelling went down) but then I realize that my right eye was starting up (and Tony's left eye).

So we are both home today. I got up four times in the night to "unglue" both of my eyes. Tony's looks pretty good...just a little red. I look like an alien. Anyway, just wanted to stop in. I did a post on the main forum asking for any suggestions and home remedies. This is the first time I have had pink eye in my life!

I tried tea bags last night. Very soothing and my right eye did not get as swollen as my left eye the night before. I am going to do tea bags and drops all day today. This is miserable. At least I got the worst of it. I'll check in later. Hope you got to see your fireworks.

Oh...as far as eating...I have been eating like a pig because I am sick and feel like I deserve it. No exercise since Friday. I'll get myself right back on track though....Poop (as you would say) my throat started hurting in the night too....what next?!?!

OMG Kaybee, don't ask what's next! You're gonna curse the situation even further. Yikes.... When I became ill over my work situation I said the same darn thing. Oh man, that was the worst. And the throat, oh the throat, the soreness, the inability to swallow, the BLOOD! Ugh. I'm feeling for you and HOPE, HOPE, HOPE, your throat is just a tickle.

I'm even more sorry that Tony has it. I hate it when the kids are sick. I always just want to take it on myself instead of having them be ill. Yet, they seem to get over things so much more quickly.

I was totally going to ride you for not excersizing since THURSDAY (not Friday as you said, unless you didn't post your workout on Friday's T&S thread). But, since you're sick, I guess I'll let it slide.

You will be glad to know that I did wake up early on Friday and got a workout in (30 mins on the LifeFitness machine). Even I was proud of myself for doing that.

I don't know if I told you, but my hubby purchased a wrecked Austin Healy almost three weeks ago. We put an add in the paper to run Fri, Sat, and Sun. This way he could work on selling the car (and a boat motor) while I was away with the kids helping out with my SIL's garage sale.

OMG, the first phone call was at 6:30 in the morning. That's early to be calling about a car (my opinion anyway). So, since I was up, I got on the machine and did my workout. All while Gary is trying to get ready for work and field the early morning phone calls.

I'm so glad I got my workout in because after I stepped off of that machine it was non-stop phone calls. Gary told me that I could just let the machine grab all of the calls and he would call everyone when he got home from work.

Well, I was trying to be nice and field the real buyers from the just interested folks. EVERYBODY WAS INTERESTED.

I even let this one guy come over and look at the car (which I NEVER do - selling cars is Gary's responsibility). I'm really proud of myself because I SOLD THE CAR! Gary is proud of me.

We purchased the car for $3,000 and sold it for $7,500 three weeks later. That was the plan, but I totally don't understand the nostalgia of restoring cars. This was such a HOT item. I cannot believe all the interest. So, Gary seems to think he's going to shift gears away from Corvettes for a while and focus on finding a few Austin Healy's.

It's funny. I really don't have any hobbies anymore. Gary on the other hand has too many. He gets disappointed that he cannot do EVERYTHING. Hunting (Dove, Pheasant, Ducks, Goose and Deer primarily). Fishing (Shad, Salmon, Bass, etc). Car restoration (Corvette's, and now Austin Healy's). All I have to say is he has some very expensive hobbies!

Okay, I've been a chatter bug. I have more to say so I'll be back in a little while. I know you're gonna miss me while I'm off switching laundry, making beds, getting breakfast taken care of, etc, etc, etc.

I just got done working out. Whoo Hoo Very hot, sweaty and sticky. Had to take an immediate shower. Now I'm refreshed.

I helped my SIL with a garage sale on Saturday and it took alot out of me. I consider all the arm movements, squats, lifts, walking, etc. to be a workout all of its own. Strength training is what I'm calling it! Heh Heh I was thoroughly sore on Sunday and still have some soreness today. I'm glad I got on the LifeFitness machine, because I really wanted to say no, I'm too sore from Saturday's events.

About the SIL garage sale. Here I was thinking I was helping my SIL out; coming down to her house with my kids in 100 degree weather to help her organize a garage sale. You know, help her 'clean out' her garage from all the clutter, doing something I totally did not have to do. I felt I was doing it out of the kindness of my heart. A helpful hand. ETC, ETC, ETC.

Guess what my SIL's interpretation of my helping with the garage sale was? She said, "it was good pay-back for all the hand-me-downs she gives me". I just thought, oh my goodness. What two differeing thought processes are going between the two of us. Our brains are at two opposite extremes. Nobody is right or wrong, just interesting to see how two people can look at the same situation SOOOOOOO differently.

I mean really, all the hand-me-downs I get from my SIL I have to give back. She actually called me two days after she gave me a dress for my daughter and said I should be washing it seperately or on the most genlte cycle on my washing machine and NOT to put it through the dryer. WHAT? Handling instructions for hand-me-downs? Errrrr..... just venting my frustration here. I love her. But the thought processes she has are beyond me sometimes.

I NEVER want anything back that I give away. I just GIVE! In my opinion, hand-me-downs should be hand-me-downs. So, taking the high road I will store the cute little dress, not have my daughter wear it for fear she may ruin it in kindergarten. Heaven forbid she gets a stain on it. How would I account for that? ha. ha.

I didn't go to the fireworks display. The heat from the garage sale made me sick. The kids were beat and it just felt a lot better inside than out. I felt alot better Sunday morning.

You forgot to mention that on Superwoman Cleaning Day you eat out for dinner. There is definately no reason to start making messess immediately after clean up!

Okay, don't kill me for coming here again today. I just forgot to tell you something.

About a year ago Gary thought he had gotten pink-eye. As it turned out, it was actually an eye infection. It lasted a really long time (2-3 weeks). His eye actually turned red, was swollen at times (especially in the beggining), crusty, 'mucousy' (is that even a word, if not, pretend it is), slimy, etc. It really looked bad.

He had to go to a special eye doctor, not the regular o'l eye doctor. The family doctor referred him I believe. Anyhow, he had to put antibiotics drops directly onto his eye as well as take oral antibiotic medicine.

Just thought I'd give you something to worry about if the pink-eye doesn't seem to go away.

Take care. I promise I'll lay off of the posting for the rest of the day. I might even turn of the darn computer. oooooooooo

Lorie,

You don't have to apologize for posting...I posted three times in a row over the weekend.

Well - I went to the doctor. He said Yup that looks like bacterial conjunctivitis and the drops you are using are what we prescribed. I said WHAT...there is nothing else you can do for me! I said what about oral antibiotics. He said there has never been any proof that oral meds help with eye infections (this doesn't make sense because it helps with all other infections). Then he said that there is one other kind of drops. The ones I have a sulfer based and they have one that is "quilon" (something like that) based. Maybe I was having an allergic reaction to the drops. I had actually considered this because of my swollen eye lids.

SOOOOO - I got new drops. They do feel better in my eyes so I am hopeful. I said to the doctor...what if these don't work. He said "Well we do have a opthamologist on staff, I can consult him" What does it take....me going BLIND!!! It was kind of comically - he didn't get anywhere near me and never touched me. He did have the appropriate concerned/sympathetic look on his face the whole time.

I have the same symptom's as Gary. Every single time I close my eyes for more than 5 minutes they get stuck together to the point I have to use a washcloth to open my eyes. the rim of my eyes are sore from all the wiping. Man I really take my eye health for granted because this is pure misery! I am not usually a wuss like this...I'm acting like my husband. I asked him to bring me home some mint chocolate chip ice cream which I promptly ate for dinner. He got low fat Breyers. These new drops cause me to have funny taste in my mouth so at least I won't eat the whole container of ice cream.

Don't you hate when you do something out of the goodness of your heart and the idiots around you don't even recognize it....it kind of hurts my feelings. Sounds like you SIL is a tit for tat type of person which is unfortunate. In my experience I have always received the good side of what goes around comes around. Meaning....if I do something good for you, I'll get "paid back" from someone else. That actually works better than tit for tat.

Now who is rambling....Well, I have to go put drops in my eyes then fall asleep with tea bags on them - maybe I should have a witch doctor do a jig around the bed too....POOP POOP POOP!
