View Full Version : can't get phentermine refilled???

Hi,
I'm originally from Las Vegas and I'm visiting my mother in Ohio. My doctor gave me 1 refill on my phentermine because she knew I wouldn't be in Nevada. I went to my local CVS to get it filled and the pharmacist was very rude to me and told me that "Phentermine refills are banned in Ohio." He also decided to lecture me on taking it and added "it doesn't even work."
Anyway, I've been trying to look up if it really is banned but I haven't found anything.
I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about this?
I'd like to know before I go around trying to get it filled at another pharmacy.

I haven't heard such a thing, and I cannot find anything online that says the rude pharmacists statement to be true. Personally I would call and complain to his supervisor about what a d*ckhead he was to you. Try calling another pharmacy in the area. Also, he's a freakin pharmacist..not a doctor..you should tell him to kiss your skinny *** that you got from phentermine!:D

Hi .. i owuld definately report that pharmacist.. what an a@@ he was ... I would call a different pharmacy to find out if the claims are to but as far i see he just being a jerk !! There are some states that limit the amount of time on the drug but not sure if the state your in does that .. wish you the best of luck !

Well first off, I think its very unprofessional for him to have told you that. If your Dr feel as though its medically necessary then that is between you and your doctor. There may be some truth to what he told you, because I know that in Ohio a dr is not allowed to write refills for a controlled substance. I was on Meridia and my dr in Columbus was only able to write one script at a time. I had to either have them call in or go in for each refill. So this may be somehow tied together.
