View Full Version : Atypical phen reaction?

I've been reading the boards for a week (and been on phen just under a week) and have read so much about the usual side effects. But besides insomnia for a couple days, I haven't had any.

No jitters, no extra energy, no increased sense of wellbeing. The most annoying is that I get intense hunger pains when I know there's no way I could possibly be hungry, (like shortly after I've eaten). I took a one day break from phen because I was sick with a fever, and the hunger stopped. Then started up the next day with the next pill! I don't feel like I'm on an appetite suppressant at all!

Has anyone else just plain not had any side effects? Or gotten the hunger pains?

I'm on 37.5 dose once a day and am definitely eating enough. I try to make sure I take my pill one hour before or two hours after breakfast so it gets fully absorbed. I also know my pills aren't fakes - they are a prescription filled at a local pharmacy.

Hm, that sounds odd...when do you get hungry? Maybe you could split them and half and have one in the morning and one either before or after lunch...I found that I was getting hungry in the evening until I spaced the second one a little later. But I wouldn't take the second half after 2 or you may not sleep so good :o ) I would experiment with times of taking it...

I have had a somewhat similar reaction to the phen. The first week was good. I had incresed energy, increased good mood and no appetite and lost about 10 pounds. Then I started the second week and noticed that the phen wasnt working as well. My energy was there but so was my appetite.
I am ending my second week in two days and have not lost any more weight. I have been drinking some much water and eating a well balanced diet too. I hope that this is not it. should I take a day off of the phen or is there something I can do to boost it. I am already on an anti-depressent so I cant take the 5-htp. Is there anything else I can do to get the first week effects back or even a little of the effects?
Anyone with insight, Please help!!

I started taking the pills in February, we started a MAJOR road trip moving over 3000 miles away, (with 4 kids, dog, hubby me and my mom!) and I couldn't weigh myself, but i noticed my clothes not fitting properly, so I knew i was losing weight! During that time I would go for several days and not want to eat anything, then all of a sudden I would feel like I was starving and need to eat more to feel full, this went on for about 8 weeks, I thought it was because We were traveling, but then my sister in law told me this happened to her, at the end of the 10th week I weighed in with a doctor and had lost 26 pounds, so I am not sure when or how, but I did read on here that you should take a break for a few weeks and then start again and that helps with the weight loss! My dr did not tell me anything about this, but i went off for a week and am going to start again tomorrow! I find when I am starving though I eat a small piece of chocolate and my craving for food goes away! not sure if that would help everyone, but I truly feel this is the best diet plan I have tried!!! I LOVE phentermine even with the side effects!

Hello everyone:

I'm pretty new here but haven't been able to find any phentermine online that I feel comfortable with ordering. Any suggestions? you can email me privately.

Thanks, Valrie

My doctor told me to take my pill (37.5) at 11 am each day. It seems to work real well for me. I have an early breakfast, and by 11 am, my stomach is empty so the pill will get absorbed. Then, when lunch time comes, I am not hungry, so I don't over eat. By the time I am ready to go to bed, the pill has worn off. Maybe this will help you. There are some days that I am hungrier than others. I just keep in mind that I can make it and not ruin my diet. I keep busy and that makes time pass and I won't eat!

That is actually a good idea Bocefus! Because I noticed that for about 5 hours after I take the pill I am not hungry at ALL!!! so if I take it at 11 by the time it wears off I will be ready for a small dinner and then Bed! LOL!!! My doctor only told me not to take it late in the day! Thats a good idea! Thanxxxxx

Try taking your pill at least 30 minutes before you eat. I have taken the pill after a meal and I seem to get hungry but if I take it 30 minutes before a pill then I don't get the hunger pains. Also, if you take the pill early in the morning and drink water all day it will help with any ins****a you may get.

I have the same side affects with the hunger pains. I don't know why but even if I eat , about an hour later my stomach feels like it's empty! I hate that feeling because it always makes me feel sick! I hope it goes away.
