Has anyone experienced hair loss? I dont just mean a little I mean alot all over. I don't know if it's from the phen been on it for 4 months or so and I also take a diuretic. I am now on a million vitamins and biotin to help with hair growth but I'm losing like 300-400 a day sometimes a little less. I'm freakin out. Had my blood work done and Im anemic (low iron) but alot of women are. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

i read a lot of threads on here about this. i do not have this problem, but if you do a search i am sure you will find something.

i take biotin.. i heard it was good for hair (in fact i probably read that on here). i noticed my hair growing waaaay fast and it seems shinier

one thing i remember.. it is important to take vitamins because you are probably not getting enough from the food if you are on a diet. so taking vitamins is a good start. try biotin too. i take a multi as well as green tea, etc.

watch out for the biotin though you may want to take that towards the end of the day because it interfers with the absorbtion of other meds i think thats what had been going on with me

I read somewhere that if you do not eat enough calories your hair can start falling out. Who knows if that is true or not but I thought I would pass it along anayway.

My daughter had some hair loss while on phen. Now that she is almost completely off phen it seems to be thickening up again.

thanks for the feedback. the diet i was on for a month i was only on 500 calories a day but that was 4 months ago. i have been at my goal for 2 months almost. but it just started coming out 6 weeks ago. i am taking biotin and i will start taking it at the end of the day mami mia if it interferes with absorbtion of my other vitamins. im taking like 10 vitamins a day all together. thanks again. im gonna go take a shower and see how many come out im so obsessed with it that it's causing me stress with is another cause of hair loss. but i think it was the strict diet i was on. thanks again, bald chihuahua lol

wow... it had to be the diet... 500 calories isn't a lot!! definitely eat at least 1200!

thanks for the biotin info... i usually take it at the end of the day, but with my other vitamins. i will have to change that now...

I had hair loss with phen. It got so bad I had to stop taking it. I was taking vitamins with biotin as well as iron and calcium supplements. I've been off phen for 2 months now and most of my hair has grown back. I have also gained back all the weight I have lost. I'm ready to get back on phen and hopefully lose the weight again. Phen seems to be the only thing that works for me; thyroid problem. I maintained a proper diet which was closely monitored by my doctor. He recommended the supplements with biotin to counteract the hair loss. It's a side effect of the medication, which they fail to tell you but it affects everyone differently. My hair loss got to the point where I had patches of hair missing on the crown, both sides and working its way to the front of my head. I chose to stop phen and let my hair grow back. Hope this was helpful.

The hair loss is not due to Phen, but from your diet. Hair loss will occur with any diet that does not provide plenty of vitamens, and protein and zinc specifically.

I lost 30 pounds a few years ago without Phen, and my hair started to fall out also. It grew back, but hair loss is the dirty little secret of dieting. I will continue to research, and let you know what I find. I like my hair.

I agree with the last thread. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 15yrs and it is NOT the phentermine! It is the behavior ON phentermine. Be sure to eat your protien with every meal. Note:I said WITH every meal, I didn't say FOR every meal!:)Doing this along with your daily vitamins will continue to help. Vitamin A,E, & Fish oil is great for skin and nails. Your nails and hair are the EXACT same protien...one is hard (nails) and one is soft (hair). Blessings.

If you don't want to take another prescription you can take Flax Seed Oil. It works great!!! When you diet, you can loose hair, have skin problems, "poo-ing" problems like constipation, etc. And this is natural. I take three in the AM and then 2 in the PM, plus one prenatal vitamin a day (the prenatals have more vitamins then the regular vitamins, plus it helps make your hair grow fast). Hope this helps, it works great for me.
