Hello....
I am starting phentermine tomorrw and my Dr. Had mention a couple of things that make Phen less effective. I know she said vitamin C, and cranberry juice, but can't remember anything else. Does anyone know anything else??? Thanks for your help : )

Caffeine is a definite no no. It breaks the phen down too quick to give you the results that you are hoping for.

Honestly I didn't have a problem with anything.... I drank coffee daily and I ate what was on my plan and some stuff that wasn't and even drank alcohol on a few special occasions...

I have noticed that soda(diet coke) makes it wear off super fast. I had one at lunch last week at a easter picnic and by 3 or 4 I was STARVING!! No more diet coke since! I miss you, my lovely fizzy zero-calorie friend!!
Taking mine with breakfast does the same. Now I take it the moment I get out of bed and don't eat or drink(except water) for at least an hour, two if possible. I spend most of the morning clock watching because I WANT COFFEE!!!

Hi
I have been drinking coffee every morning and after about a week I did notice I was getting to hungry by afternoon. So I started taking phen later in the morning. But had very hard time sleeping at night. Plus I don't think I was eating enough calories. So I up my calories, and switched back to taking phen early in the morning. And all is working out. :) And still drinking coffee in the morning.

Thank you for sharing that about the vitamin C, I have actually seen older posts on here where people thought it made it more effective. I know the "free" fruits that I can have are 1/2 orange, 1/2 grapefruit, or 1/2 an apple without having to count the carbs. I have noticed that days I did the apple went better then the orange days...makes me wonder now, lol. Cranberry and other juices are pretty high in carbs so that might be part of it.
According to the plan my doc gave me I am to avoid, bread, reduced fat products, anything with sugar subs particularly aspartime (as it causes your body to be tricked into releasing insulin actually creating hunger when it might not otherwise be there), peas, bananas, carrots, corn, ice cream, cookies, potatos...the list could go on, it was extensive. Not supposed to have a lot of caffeine because it can raise blood pressure to a dangerous range if overconsumed. I have noticed that cottage cheese is a personal no-no, while it works so well for many others it packs the pounds on me and so does yogurt, milk, and ice cream. Something about the milk sugar combo I guess does me in. I can eat cheese all day though and drop weight...maybe thats what I should do, lol. lots of water always helps!

I notice oranges specifically make me hungry.... possibly because they have less fiber than the apple..... they are all juice and get absorbed in to the blood stream much quicker

Phen effects everyone differently. You just have to tweak your routine so it works for you. The only two rules that apply across the board is drinks at least 100oz of water daily, and eat 1200 cals/day (more if you are working out). Theres no specific plan that will work for everyone, so just make it work for you, and do it in a way that you can maintain after your loss Good luck!! :)
