hi guys---

Have only been on the phen for 4 days. I'm 5"2 and weighed in at 153 lbs. I'm one of those people who only needs to lose about 20-25 lbs.. I felt TOTALLY guilty starting the meds cause I thought I was totally coping out. Having said that, I've already lost 4 lbs---CRAZY!!!! Only really bad side effect is the dry-mouth. The real reason for my post is that, like many, I have ZERO appetite and have to force myself to eat. There is a part of me that feels really sad that I don't enjoy ANY food...sure the weight is gonna fall off but, eating out, socializing is a very fullfilling part of my life (obviously u have to eat the RIGHT foods--lol) and it feels weird to not have that. I've already cancelled dinner plans over the weekend---I can't imagine sitting in a restaurant when NOTHING about the food is pleasurable. Has anyone esle experienced this. Eating is one of life's joys----being a bit repulsed by food seems very sad to me....

Hi and welcome --

When I first started on Phen, I lost my cravings for foods...After the first 2 days, my appetite came back but I became full quicker so I ate less. I would be surprised if your not wanting food lasts very long. Usually the hunger comes back but its different for some reason....you have more willpower to avoid the foods you thought you could not live without .

I too love to eat out. I haven't done much of that and when I do, don't enjoy it either but I thought it was because I felt I was just sabotaging anything I had done that week.

I use to love a glass of wine on the weekends with my husband and I absolutely have not desire for that at all...so I feel bad for him...He lost his drinking partner but I am willing to give all that up for a more slender body and a happier me come June.

I think you will find that you will want to go out to eat again and then you will be bummed you have such a limited selection to choose from....you know.....the salad greens or the salad greens.... and then there is always the salad greens.....:)

I have to "force" myself to eat also. Even if you are not hungry, you still need to fuel your body with food. This will keep your body from going into starvation.

You should still go out with your friends and enjoy yourself. Just because you think the restaurant doesn't have healthy foods to choose from doesn't mean you shouldn't go. You can select the the healthiest item you can find on the menu and modify it. If the restaurant has a website, look at the menu before you go and pre-select what you will order. You can also choose the restaurant that works for you. It's not impossible, it's just the way life is.

What I do when I go to a restaurant that doesn't have very many healthy choices, I choose an appetizer for my main meal with a small side salad and have the dressing on the side. For me, what's most important is the people I'm with, not the food I can eat. Make the best choice you can, enjoy it and start fresh the next day.

Did you know "STRESS" causes weight gain?

YOU CAN DO IT!
