Hi everyone!
Does anyone know what happens if you use Phen for too long? Are there any major side effects or damage done to the body? What is the longest amount of time a person should be on them?
Thanks!!!

Hi Dee!
I'm not positive on long term effects but I have heard that after about 3 months or so your body becomes use to it and it's effects of suppressing your appetite decrease. Most effective I've heard is 3 months and I guess depending on your doctor you can start up again after like 6 months. I'm sure there are concerns for your heart also with long term use. Phen isn't universally accepted bc of heart issues that people have had.. So I'd look into it. I haven't talked to my doc about how long he will let me stay on phen but I don't think most doctors will let you go more than 3 months... But I guess it varies from case to case. Sorry I don't have more info but I'd def look into it!!
Good luck!!

I have also heard that because it is a stimulant, it is addictive...so even if you are not feeling the "affects", going off Phen after being on it a long time is difficult because your body will feel like it needs it. Not sure how true this is because there are some people that have been on Phen longer than 3 and stop and the only thing they seem to be disappointed about is that the hunger comes raging back...Not sure.
My state only allows me 3 months so I will never know....Doctor said she would put me on Meridia which I can take for up to 2 years to lose and maintain....so...I will keep everyone posted to see what it will be like...:o

Kelliee- do you know what the difference is between Phen and Meridia? If you can stay on it so much longer, I just wonder if there are many differences, or if I should just start with a drug like Meridia to begin with.
