i've been asking the same question, my daughter is 2 and i still have a big belly. Some say cardio is the best for losing stomach fat but that's all i've been doing these past 6 months and im losing everywhere else except my muffin top. After 2 pregnacys and 2 c sections im thinking about a tummy tuck soon.
Good Luck!

Hey, ladies!

Several years ago, a certified trainer at my local fitness center made the statement to a bunch of us ladies in an aerobics class that, "Women gain weight from the middle of the bodies outward (gaining first around our middles and then up toward our head and down toward our feet). And, they lose it in the opposite way- from the head and toes up toward our mid-sections."

So, basically, I started to try and notice this on my own body, and she was right! When I'm thin, I gain in my tummy and hips first, then I notice that my upper arms and calves are getting thick! But, when I try to lose, I lose it first in my upper arms and calves, then my upper abs, and LAST in my tummy and hips- UGH!!!!!

But, if we stick with it long enough, we WILL see the loss in our middles! YAY!!!! You can do this, ladies!

according to Jillian Michaels you just keep doing cardio and it will eventually work. The tummy is always the last to go. I have been at this for a year and my tummy still is my biggest area. Hang in there!

RAELYNSMOMMY---- I know what you mean about the "9 month pregnant look". I have a 5 and 2 year old and i still cant lose mine. After i had my first son, i noticed a lump on my right side where my abdominal muscles would be..LOL. Well i found out i have "diastasis Recti" which is abdominal separation. So pretty much the only way for me to fix it and get rid of my excess skin on my stomach is a tummy tuck. BUT, i'm gonna try my hardest to lose as much weight as i can and maybe it wont be as noticeable. The first time i was on Phen, i did the treadmill for an hour 4-5 days a week and i did notice a change in my stomach, so stick with cardio!!! Good Luck!

A lady I know had her muscles do that too and her ins covered the tummy tuck...to get the muscles back where they needed to be I guess:)

REALLY???? I tried playing it off that its starting to hurt me. I mean its true in a way, i do get annoying pains when i'm sitting and i bend over and then when i go to get back up it feels like something shoots up between my ribs. The doctor i just say a couple days ago says thats normal.. Maybe i will try going to another doctor. This was the 3 doctor i've seen for it, but pretty much they all say theres not much u can do unless u want to pay for a tummy tuck.

Do sit ups and or watch them excersise videos in the morning. and Lower what you usually eat. When you want something verry bad eat half of it then give the other have to somebody else or throw it away.

The tummy really is the last to go. I gained alot of weigth when I was pregnant. I worked really hard and ate super healthy and when the rest of my body got to where it wanted to be my belly slowly got smaller until it was just a tiny lil pooch. I had never ever gained weight in my stomach or waist and had never had love handles before getting pregnant. I notice since having a child I tend to gain weight easier in that area. Totally lame, but when I lose it does eventually go away.

P90x is awesome... hard as crap. You really only can get "ripped" if you are already at your right weight and just have to super tone your muscles. If you are overweight or on phen to help lose a lot of excess weight you will not be "ripped in 90 days". I've been doing p90x since last august. It's definitely a great workout. I can't do a full pull up yet but I'm halfway there and can do regular "men" pushups now. I've definitely toned up and gotten a lot stronger since then but I"m no where near "ripped" lol.

As far as losing belly fat... it really is true what someone said earlier... it's one of the last places women lose. I've also noticed, the first places you gain are usually the last you lose from. And be weary of lipo and tucks b/c if you get it and weight unfortunately comes back it comes back around that area, literally, and you can look deformed (at least from what I'm told...not personal account)... going under the knife is expensive and scary so if you do it, I would think you already work out like a fiend b/c you have to definitely keep it up after and I would consider it last resort.

Don't give up!! You'll get there! :)
