Hello Everyone:)
I was reading through some old threads and saw one posted by KittyPie that is no longer active and well... I just fell in love with the motto! So here is my attempt to get it going again
Taking care of yourself = Self Love = Happiness= Long life = More to give others... So it's time to put yourself and your health on your calendar!!
I am not specifying any particular diet/exercise requirements for this challenge as I am a believer that everyone has their own goals and ways that work for them, but I do encourage everyone to check in once a day! It really makes a difference when you are held accountable! I think this thread should be a place where we can come to share motivation, support and ideas for this weight loss journey! That said, it may be fun to have some weekly challenges everyone once in a while...so if anyone has an idea, please post!
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Meghan. I was on here about 2 years ago and this website helped me lose more than 50lbs in about 5 months. I grew very close to many of the other members, some of which I see are still on here (LZ, CDCreations, KittyPie )
So, this is my time to start over. It is time to love myself enough to WANT to take care of myself. It's about caring enough to eat good/healthy foods, about caring enough about myself to exercise my heart and lungs and muscles so I can be healthy for life.
.
My story:
Since I stopped using this website and stopped taking care of myself I have gained everything back and MORE. It has been a whirlwind of a couple years as I have graduated college, spent 8 months living in NYC, a year living in Wilmington, NC selling insurance and am now back in my hometown. I've learned a lot about myself through these tough times and now I am ready to take that knowledge and channel it in a way that will change my lifestyle as well as my relationship with food and exercise.
I am 6'0 and currently weight about 260!! YIKES!! I am wearing a size 20 but my clothes are tight so I spend most of my time in yoga pants and T-shirts. This is my signature from the last time I was on here:
"it's better to wear italian than eat italian"
6'0
7/10/07- 252
8/22/07-233
12/18/07- 203.8
12/9/07- 207.4
12/18/07- 201.2
1/21/08- 197.2
2/18/08- 194.6
2/27/08- 191.2
Life long goal of target weight: 155
You can see that I have officially gained about 70lbs. At my skinniest weight I was a size 12 so the exciting part of this new weight loss journey for me will be the fact that I still have all of my clothes ranging in between. It will be nice to finally wear some of the clothing items in my closet that remind my daily of how heavy I currently am.
Ok, so my plan is the following:
- eat less that 1200 cals per day and make healthy food choices
- workout at least 1 hr per day 6 days per week
- drink 120 oz water per day
- take CLA and drink 4 cups of green tea daily (both aid in burning fat)
- run an 8k on Valentine's day!
I think that about sums it up for now. I greatly look forward to this journey and sharing my success with each and every one of you! :D
