View Full Version : NYE 2009 Challenge

I have 14lbs left to lose before NYE 2009 to reach my 1st goal. That is only one month away! I am challenging myself and anyone else who has a New Years Eve goal to reach.

The holidays are some of the toughest times to keep on track with eating right. Cakes, pies, chocolates, fattening dishes, cheese spreads, candies, egg nog... I can just feel the pounds adding up! I am challenging us all to reach our goals despite all the readily available JUNK.

How do I plan to stay on track:
-Drink 80 oz of water per day
-Eat low fat, low carb, sensible foods.
-During parties and social events I will allow myself to have one small serving of one item that is not considered low-fat/low-carb.
-When bringing foods to parties and social events I will bring healthy foods that I can also eat.
-Exercise atleast 30 mins at a time-5 days a week.
-If I do use my 'party allowance' (one small serving of non low-fat/low-carb) I will either add an additional 30 mins to a regular work out day or add an additional 30 min work out day to my week. *Per 'party allowance'*

Must weigh in atleast once a week. Final weigh in will be the morning of Dec. 31st.

Anyone with me?

I am in with you. I need to lose twenty pounds by January 17th. Please email me so we can track progress. I started two days ago.

Im with you to , i have 17 more pounds to lose to reach my first goal of 50 pounds down for this year. im excercising at least 4 times a week and trying to keep calories around 1200 daily. We can do it!

I am in! I would like to lose 14 more pounds by New Years and since I am not doing so good, maybe this will be my motivation! :o

Hoping to lose 15 by new years :) I will be at 193 woohoo :) that would be wonderful. When do we post in? Or how often are we entering our weigh ins???

Count me in also cause I REALLY want to lose 17 more pounds by dec 31 I want to start 2010 with the new me:) I really think we can all reach our goals if we stick togather and work very hard no slacking anymore :))) i been on this weight loss journey for a year now and next year I really just want to maintIn the new me and not have to concentrate strictly on dieting all tho I will always b self conscious of what I eAt thT will b lifetime commitment for me:)So I'm looking forward to this challange and even more anxious to meeting my goal !!!! Taz

Alright dadgummit! I have yet to reach the goals of the challenges that I have joined... I have achieved my smaller goals, but also still haven't reached my first weight loss goal of 180 :( And I am 104 days into the "new lifestyle".

I will say that I am proud of myself as I am up to running two, two 1/2 miles, I have stuck with exercise and I am more aware of the calories that I eat, but I really fall short of these challenges and I hope that this time will be different.

I hope to be as close to 180 as possible, if not 180. That's 11 lbs. I am not sure if I can lose that much in a month. The first month I lost 15, then 6 or so, then 3... But I hope that the "break" on Thanksgiving will boost the loss again.

Here is what I plan to do:

Continue with my running challenge and be up to 3 miles by the end of the week.
Eat no more than 1400 cals.
Drink my water (usually around 105 oz each day)

I hope this works. Lets see what happens by Friday.

I'm in too!! I would like to lose 16 lbs by 12/31, that would = 20 lbs since I started this journey! That would be awesome!! That's 4 lbs/week. I think, I mean I KNOW I can do it!!
