I have been on Phentermine for almost 2 weeks....and I have lost 13 pounds so far! I went back to the diet doctor a few days ago and was offered a lipotrophic injection....has anyone taken this and how about results? I am not sure how much this cost, didn't get alot of info about it...the nurse was in a real hurry.

I have not had the injection, but my diet center offers a "diet shot". I am wondering if it is the same thing? I am going to go search for information on that now! I would love an extra boost!

I take the B12 shots every 3-5 days and I get the lipo injections once a month because my doctor is out of town. I lost 15 pounds in one month. My doctor really wants me to take the shots 1-2 a week but for me to buy 2 months worth it would be $300. It is suppose to help burn fat.

I have the B12 and Lipo shots, i can have them between every 7-14 days, I havent tried doing the phen without the shots yet so i dont know what difference they make, but apparantly they help you lose inches not weight. which is a good thing also the B12 is really only an energy boost not weight loss. when i started in october i was 160 and im at 145 now, if people have a lot of weight to lose then they will probably lose more than what i have in that amount of time and also there has been 2 points that i havent taken phen for a week at a time so take 2 weeks away from the date i started, but i have lost about 4 inches offf my waist. and i'm not really exercising i dont seem to have time to fit any in at the moment if im lucky i will get to do some form of exercise about 1 or 2 times a week, so something that is in my body must be taking the inches away which i can only put down to lipo injections

I'm interested in this but it's not FDA approved and they're not sure what the long terms effects are. Kind of makes me wonder...

Okay, so i am scheduled for an appointment on Monday for lipo shot mixed with amino acids, and b-12 & b-6. I am told it is a once weekly shot for $20 and you can self administer if you desire. I will let you know what I think and if I got the shot after meeting the doctor. I would love to hear from anyone who has had success/failure with this!

My doctor is giving us a Phentermine / Lipo B injection combo mix for our weight loss. He also charges $20 per injection. That is what they recommend.

This is what I have read on the subject and why I am glad to also be using the weekly injection as part of my weight loss efforts:

"Lipotropics are three amino acids that are essential for the health of your liver. The liver is an organ responsible for removing fat and toxins from your body, so when it's healthier, it will work better for you. Vitamin B12 gives you a huge energy boost, which helps you to burn calories.

The vitamin cocktail included in the B12 and Lipotropic shots are compounds that enhance liver function and increase the flow of fats and bile from the liver and gallbladder. By definition, a lipotropic substance decreases the deposit, or speeds up the removal of fat within the liver. The key amino acids used to make these shots are Vitamin B12, Choline, Methione, and Inositol.

Vitamin B12 is essential for helping to form new, healthy cells in the body. It also boosts energy, helping to increase activity levels.
Choline supports the health of the liver in its processing and excretion of chemical wast products within the body. Moreover, it is required for the transport and metabolism of fats and cholesterol within the body, which is important for the healthy support of the endocrine, cardiovascular and hepatic systems.

Methione is one of the sulfur-containing amino acids and is important for many bodily functions. It acts as a lipotropic agent to prevent excess fat buildup in the liver and the body, is helpful in relieving or preventing fatigue and may be useful in some cases of allergy because it reduces histamine release.

Inositol, a nutrient belonging to the B vitamin complex, is closely associated with choline. It aids in the metabolism of fats and helps reduce blood cholesterol. Inositol participates in the action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known to control mood and appetite."

Thanks Bob! I will let you know how tomorrow goes for me, I am very excited to learn more. Did you just start using Phen/lipo shots? Are you having any side effects? Keep me posted on your progress!

Yeah, I started the shot on 1/6/2010 and the following day after that doctor visit, I started taking Phentermine. The doctor's office told me to take the pill before 9 AM each day day.

Last night I found it hard to fall asleep. That was the only thing I really noticed. I used to live on Coke, Pepsi and Mountain Dew every single day. Every time I would try to stop drinking those things, I would get massive headaches. I haven't had a soda since the 6th and today is the 10th and I haven't had a single headache. I'm wondering if that Lipotropics injection helps with that or not. Our doctor takes the Lipotropic shots himself and said he's been doing it for the past 5 years. Even if you're not trying to lose weight, the shots are good for you.

Me and my wife went to the store and bought $200 worth of nothing but healthy food. No junk food, soda's, candies or snacks. I bought all Lean Cuisines and Smart One's. We bought Arnold wheat bread and sweet potatoes instead of white bread and regular potatoes that we normally buy.

For breakfast I'll have a small bowl of cereal between 8 and 9. At 10 I'll have some EAS protein drink (120 calories) that the weight doctor recommended. The paperwork he gave us said that the protein drinks help with metabolism.

At around 12 or 1 I'll have one of those Lean Cuisines. Between 2 and 3 I'll try to have another EAS protein shake or a banana. Then between 5 and 6 I'll have another Lean Cuisine.

I'm lucky to eat 800-1000 calories per day now that I'm not eating at Carrabbas, Olive Garden and other Italian restaurants that we used to frequent.

I uploaded a few photos of myself showing my current weight. I am hoping to keep the Phentermine regiment going and have better pictures in the next 3 or 4 months from now the way other people have.

When I went to the doctor's and got on their scale and saw 341, I was in shock. That is an alarming number. We were no real position to afford the costs to do this, but the cost of treating diabetes will be a lot more.

Okay, so I had hit a plateau on Phen...not gaining but loss slowed down. I have done the Vit-B/lipotropc shots x1 and lost 3lbs in the first week. I feel good...more energy for sure! I let you know how week 2 goes...Bob, how is it going for you?

Good for you! Sounds like you're taking steps in the right direction. :)

Getting headaches from trying to stop drinking the soda could have been caffeine withdrawl and now that it's been x amount of days without one it's getting out of your system.

Just be careful with packaged foods too, the sodium can get hefty. Also sometimes foods that are packaged as healthy or 'diet' geared food are no different or any better than the leading product or brand so it boils down to reading specs and ingredients.

I doubt I lost any weight this past week because of some birthday celebrations going on and I pigging out on big dinners a few times. Totally killed the diet.

I'm due to go in for my weigh-in at the doctor's today and get another Lipotropic injection. I'll see what the verdic is when I get there, but I doubt that I lost anything this past week.

Last night I went to Publix and stocked up on a who cart full of EAS Myoplex 23g protein shakes. $8.99 for 4!

3 of those to be drank per day. One between breakfast and lunch, one between lunch and dinner and one around 7:30ish as a late night snack. 150 calories each. Those make it so like I'm getting 6 meals per day.

I know my doc offers the lipotropic injections, and i've had them a few times, but it's an additional cost to my weekly program. I've never committed myself to get them weekly. I go back to the doc tomorrow, I may ask him about them...

They are good for you. My doctor has been taking them every week himself for the past 5 years.
