View Full Version : The Seasoned Phenster Challenge

October 1st, 2009, 08:39 AM
Hello Gals and Guys! This is a challenge for us "seasoned" phensters, if you dont know if your "seasoned" or not here is how you may know:
You have been on phen for a while, more than 4 months.
You no longer have that rush of energy phen once gave you.
You no longer have absolutely no appetite.
You crave things you didn't when you first started phen.
Your scale moves a few lbs a month and your estatic!
You do everything right yet you lose nothing
Depending on the day you can be depressed.
You have lost wieght but still see the old you in the mirror.
Your having trouble getting those last few lbs off.
Your losing and gaining the same 5 lbs over and over.
You have a hard time finding the motivation after all these months.
You feel more comfortable in your body, thus not losing any further, and letting yourself backslide a little.
You teeter between emotions: Your sick of food, You love food, I never want to eat again, all I want to do is shove my face
The scale is your enemy
The measuring tape is your friend
You have determined who your real friends are
You have determined what your weaknesses and strengths are
I have been here for over a year, and I can say that I have experienced everything on that list. I remember coming here, so full of excitement, losing weight..thinking that in 12 weeks I could be down 40 lbs. Ha, it only took 8 months, Then getting pregnant, misscarrying, going to Germany, and buying a house did not help keep me on my journey to healthier skinnier me. I have learned so much in the year, and even though its had its hurdles I wouldnt go back, I regret nothing. I have learned that while this may be a "lifestyle change" we cannot always be prepared for "life changes"..life, death, marriage, kids, family, friends, buying homes. I cant remember how many times I told others that they need to keep thier lifestyle changes after they get off of phen, man I see now that s*h*i*t happens, life happens..and when it does we just have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and keep going.
So this challenge is for us older phensters, who lose slowly, who have worked our butts off, and need that extra motivation to keep ourselves going. To those who have been here a while and havent given up, still trucking to get to thier goals. I know I need help staying strong and staying motivated. Ive been through a lot in the year 2009 but im ready to move on. So come join me! Bring any ideas for mini-challenges and such to the table. We need all the motivation we can get.
Each week we will have an exercise challenge, an exercise someone picks out and we will have to do a certain number of times during that week. Weigh in days will be tuesday (i'll be nice and not make it monday :P) So we can be sort of accountable on the weekend. We will make small attainable goals, you do not have to weigh in if you do not wish, but instead make small goals like increasing exercise, lose 2 inches, etc. So who's ready to kick some butt!
My name is Aly, I'm 20 years old (almost 21 on oct 16!) , I'm 5'7 and today I weighed 188 lbs. I live with my husband in Elkton Maryland. My BMI says I need to be under 160 to be healthy. I dont really believe this because I am a full figured woman, very curvy, large frame, boobs, butt, hips, you name it I got it. It can be a curse at times. So my overall goal is to be somewhere in the 160's, I was really happy toned up and still a few lbs to lose at 184, so I think 160 will be enough before I get the "sunken face" look. I figure I will determine if I'm happy once I get there. My husband started phen 2 weeks ago and I started phen again 1 week ago. In my first week I have lost 5 lbs but I know come this next week its going to get hard again. My husband has lost 8-9 lbs since starting phen. We havent started exercising yet because the doctor recommended we wait until we were used to phen again. He said ppl get very hungry if they exercise too much the first few weeks on phen. We go in today for a refill and we will see our progress. Then starting tomorrow we are going to be incorperating exercise.
I Cant wait to start this challenge! I would like to be 184 come my birthday October 16.
BTW: No offense to any newbies or newer phensters, you will be going through different emotions, struggles, gains etc than us oldies. It can be very discouraging to us older phensters when we see newer people fly by us and surpass our weight loss, I know I can get jealous. There are many challenges out there for new starters so feel free to join them. I wish you nothing but success on your jouneys.

Count me in!!! Great thread Aly.
Lets see, a little about me, well I am Trisha. I am married, have 3 kids and I am 30 yrs old. I started phen in Jan. and I have lost 45lbs. For the past 4 months I have stayed between 166 and 164. as of Today I weighed in at 165.5 I would really like to lose another 20-25 pounds but I have just been stuck.
I think some challanging exercises would be to do 700 jumping jacks for 1 week. ( I hate jumping jacks)
anyway, great thread and best of luck to all of us Oldies!!

so as I sat here reading the opening post, I'm going down the list: check, check, check, double check! All the while stuffing my face with a forbidden blueberry muffin! Wow Aly: you must have known I needed this today!
My name is Heather and I have been here 13 months. I started out great the first month and slammed to a crreping hault after that. Don't let the weight on the side fool you, I need to update. I am probably more like 157-158 right now which isn't horrible but I've already picked up those pounds again (seemed like overnight) and I'm not the firm 150's I should be.....anyone familiar with the Pokemon JigglyPuff??? Need I say more LOL! I am a mother of 3, part time student and work 2 jobs. Excuse is my middle name. I'll weigh myself in the morning for exact numbers! Thanks Aly....thank you thank you thank you!
Alright Luvin- I better see your name on this board too young lady, we're neck and neck again!

the name's jessica(most call me jess).i am 27 yrs old(28 on oct.29th).i'm 5'4" and currently 165 lbs.my start weight was 210,the highest i have ever been.i started phen. may 14th of this year and still have 2 1/2 months of phen left(i took a month break and started up again).my goal weight is 145 for the moment.if i decide i should lose more i will.but i'm not all for being this skinny white chick who weighs 110 lbs.i weighed 100 lbs till i turned 18 then i just went up after that and i hated being that small-yes that is coming from a females mouth,lol.5 years ago i got to my highest then which was 195 and i busted butt to lose and got down to about 140 then just let it go.this time i am doing whatever it takes to keep it off.i'd be fine where i am but i got a problem area-the belly.for my frame size u would think i was 7 months preg. i don't have good before pics cause my dumb self deleted them by accident so now all i have is after pics and i wish i had the ones from before cause i still feel like i look the same as i was at 210.even though i went from a size 18 to a size 12,working my way into a 10.i can button them but have a few inches over hang.
lets do this and stick together

Count me in too
Hi my name is Mary and my current weight is 173 (ugh)....I started this weight loss journey on November 2008 and so far I have lost 60 pounds and I want to lose my last 23 pounds and it just gets harder and harder, I am not taking phen no more so it is harder to control my appetite and my cravings but I am doing it.....and I will do it.
Well girls all I can say is lets kick out butt to get this last pounds off ASAP!

So excited about this. I shared my current struggles in another thread, but I'll touch on it here too.
A few years ago I thought I wanted weight loss surgery but my BMI was like 38 so I purposely gained weight to hit the 40 mark - which landed me at 260. I then realized that it was not what I wanted and even mourned the thought of NEVER being able to overeat again! Crazy huh?
I lost about 30 pounds just by cutting back to my older portions and stayed there until December 2008 when I started phen and was 226 pounds. I am currently 151 - but have been 153 - 161 for the past few months. I was off phen, but held my weight and only fluctuated with water weight.
I'm ready to finish this thing up and just by tightening up on my diet again I've dropped 2 pounds in 2 days. So I'm hopeful that I can get into the 140's by next week.
How long will the challange be? Maybe we should take it through the dreaded holidays if that's not too long for everyone.
alykat06
October 2nd, 2009, 08:31 AM
I think that going as long as we like sounds perfect to me. I like setting mini goals and theres no use to start a bazillion threads for challenges :). So we'll defenitly go through the holidays!
I went to the weight loss doctor last night and on his scale I had lost 4 lbs, granted I also ate through the day and was wearing clothes so I couldnt complain. My hubby lost 8 on the doctors scale. He bumped my doseage up to 1 1/2 pills a day since this phen brand is not quite as strong as my last prescription. He also prescribed celexa an anti-depressant for my irratability and moodiness. I finally found out why us women get phen rage while on phen! He said that its because we are removing some of the bad foods from our diet and therefore not getting as much seratonin as we would if we were eating more things such as chocolate..therefore we sort of act like were pmsing. He said dark chocolate works well to help lift those moods. So does anyone know anything about celexa? I havent filled the script yet but plan to this weekend. My OCD and anxiety are much worse on phen..they can be pretty bad without phen ..i wonder how my hubby can live with me lol. I woke up this morning weighing 187, thats after having a late dinner, so I hope to be down some more this weekend.

Ok, here I go HUNTR...
(raising my hand and standing)
HI, my name is Salina...(everyone: "HI SALINA")
And I am a seasoned Phenster. Oct 17th will be my one year anniversary since I started my weight loss journey. I'm frustrated to say that in almost 12 months, I have only lost 32 lbs at my lowest. But after a birthday weekend filled with alcohol, cake, ribs, steak, and lounging around tthe beach...I gained 7 lbs. This was back at the end of August, and I'm still trying to get those darn things off of me!! I have been fluctuating between 158 and 163 for the past month. I am probably more discouraged now, then I have ever been so far.
Oh, I should also mention that I have been off of Phen since May. I still have some left, but I'm really trying to not rely on it anymore. We can't take it forever, right??
So needless to say, I REALLY need some motivation right now.
Thanks for starting this thread ALY!

Hey Aly, I have been on celexa. I can honstly say at first it caused me really bad headaches. Thats the only side effect I had from it. It helped me alot with anger and stress. My doctor told me I could take it with phen but I never did. I quit taking the celexa in Feb just because I was tired of taking so many pills. I really think they helped me alot.
Good Luck with them.

October 2nd, 2009, 07:08 PM
I guess the only reason I wouldnt try it is because I dont know how it would interact with alcohol, since I do like to drink on occasion..what you think?
tmreese
October 2nd, 2009, 10:55 PM
I myself cant answer that one for you but I am sure there are many people who are on celexa and still drink. And the only way to find out is to just try it because everyone is different. Or just be honest and ask your doctor what he thinks. either way, good luck!

Aly- I was on Celexa and phen for a while and it really does help. I liked the Celexa because it didn't increase my appetite like alot of anti-depressants can. As far as drinking with it...I don't know why you couldn't. I wouldn't pop one and then chase it with a shot of course;) but you should be fine.
tmreese- You look so diferent in your siggy pics! Can you believe we've all been at this as long as we have?
It looks like TOM is finally showing up this evening,,,oh yeah! SO there's no telling how my weight is going to behave right now. I've been off of phen as well for several months and have been contemplating going back but when I took a few I have left over they didn't do a thing for me. I just hate to spend all of that money and they not make a difference. I think I might order an appetite suppressent offline that I used to take. It has ephedra in it and I personally like the "buzz" and could use the extra energy ya know! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We celebrated our Buddy Walk today for Down Syndrome Awareness and the weather was absolutely perfect!:D Oh, I also cut 8 inches off of my hair yesterday...I feel naked! That should be worth a pound though right?

i'm in.. i'm up 6 lbs :(.. i know the newbies will think "oooh 6 lbs i can lose that in a week" well unfortunately we know all too well that it can take us 6 weeks or more to lose 6 lbs at this stage in the game! i've just got to do a challenge to nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand so here we go again minus the phen!

Hey Aly are we supposed to check in here dailey or weekly or what is the challange for this week?: Is it to do certain amount of exercise or anything? I no someone mentioned doing jumping jax!!! I just wasnt sure what were supposed to be doing at this point lol........Im still holding at 186 today.....Im dealing with my Tom trying to start Im hoping it comes and goes fast so I can get to 180!!! Im already tired of this 186 lol been here a couple days......
Ethansmommy Im sooooo happy ur joining us!!!! And I so no what u mean about gaining 6 pounds and trying to lose it....cause it takes forever to lose even 2 pounds for me......But I no u will get it back off.....I hope vixena will join also.....Its so nice to just see all the people who were here when I first started!!!! cause it makes it easier knowing that we have all been here a year nearly and still hanging in there!!! I think this challange will help all of us alot!!!!!! Taz

October 5th, 2009, 08:39 AM
Hey Taz, it doesnt matter how many times you check in during the week. I like to check in often, it keeps me motivated and accountable. Our "goal" days are tuesdays..so baisically our weigh in days for those who want to weigh in. Or you can just set other goals for that day. We wont have a mini challenge due by tomorrow, but starting tomorrow we'll have an exercise challenge due by next tuesday. I'll figure something out!
So it looks like im gonna be stuck again, I was hoping to get past 187 this weekend but the scales not moving..so I know I have to get my butt in gear and exercise more. I'm on 11 hour shifts right now so I hope I can get home on time to get food, exercise, shower, and hit bed..thats my biggest struggle when it comes to exercise- time, n theres no way im gonna get up at 430 to exercise lol. So I think the 30 day shreds gonna be my best friend for now. I think more walking with the dog may be in the future as well.

I feel like a truck ran over me and then backed up to do it again. This has been the worst TOM by far and that's saying ALOT! I don't know how I'm not dead yet. I've passed enough clots that I shouldn't have a uterus left and you would think my weight would be low since I'm in the bathroom every 15 min (no joke) changing because I'm flooding out but OH NOOOOO!!!!! I am so bloated that I look 6 mo preg and my weight was 165 last night! WTF!!!!! I think I'm going to have to break down and make an appt. with the girly doctor when I get my insurance card, no more excuses. Luvin- I'm sure you've got a lecture for me coming----I probably deserve it though:o I REALLY don't want to go to work today! Can I use blood loss as an excuse to not take my statistics test today?;)

Tsk, Tsk HUNTR...that's all I'm going to say.
Well, I am down 3 lbs this morning...but only because there is a stomach virus making its way around my household. Our 17 month old son started with it, and I actually blamed it on something my mother-in-law must have fed him...ooops! I'm paying for it now! I have to be careful not to cough or sneeze too hard, if you know what I mean :(. My toilet and I have been very close for the past 24 hours, from both ends...sorry, TMI?
Anyway, I'm just trying to get through the work day without an embarrassing accident, we'll see what happens.
I'm glad to see a lot of us are off of the Phen. I don't feel like an outsider now.
Good luck everyone!! I know we can do this!!
Oh, HUNTR...the only way you can blame blood loss on not taking your test, would be if your teacher is a man!! :D Just mention the word period, and you can get away with anything!

Dang, it's a woman....guess I'm out of luck.
Luvin- sorry to hear about the "bug". I would say to cross your legs when you sneeze but that might not help much. LOL! But hey...three pounds is three pounds right! I'd take it anyway you can get it:D It's a shame my situation backfired on me!

I no how u feel cause I was stuck there at 187 for over 4 days and it was frustrating.....Just hang in there!!!!! The shred it is sooooo hard it kicked my butt so bad the first time I did it...I was sore for over a week......I havent done it since lol....maybe I will have to try it again also.......Well as today Im at 185.....so we will see what I can lose by next tuesday.....Im gonna try to lose 5 pounds by then at least!!!!! My highest weight was 275 and now I am hovering in the 180's range...Lately on the higher end of the range.....I would like to be at least in the 170's bracket by the end of the month and in the 160's by the new year. My Ultimate goal is 162. which for my heigh height of 6'0" would put at the perfect BMI of 22. I will weigh in tomorrow morning for an accurate weight for the challenge....and since it will be tuesday it will work out good.
It's been a rough year, going through a divorce, and a lot of drama before and during...btw it will be final Oct. 8th!!! woo hoo only a few more days! I have been raising my beautiful daughter who is the light of my life....and I am also currently engaged to my daughters father (yes I know it sounds so Jerry Springer.) We plan to get married A.S.A.P. as we are both waiting for our final divorce papers from our first marriages. I have a beautiful dress already and I want to look Stunning in it. I want to be a beautiful sexy healthy bride this time instead of a beautiful plump bride like I was the first time around.

October 6th, 2009, 09:19 AM
Hello everyone, today is tuesday and the official start of this challenge. I weighed in at 188 today grr, although I know why..having chicken alfredo with pasta the past 2 days, not using the bathroom, and expecting tom any day now. I know once I use the bathroom i'll be down, since pasta always seems to take a few days to get rid of. I did 100 jumping jacks last night, and a bunch of crunches but lost count because my dog thought I was trying to play with him..licking my face and all lol. I also got up earlier today and sped walked the dog around the block.
This week I would like everyone to some exercise that they havent done, fell of the wagon with, or something you hate but works with your body. Try to do it 2-3 times this week. I am def. gonna get jillian michaels in at least 2 times this week. I might have a setback on saturday though, its my bday party..which means food, alcohol, moon bounce, ice luge etc haha..its gonna be a blast.

Ok, so I think the stomach bug has passed!
Good news: I'm down 3lbs to 161...
Bad news: I'm sure that was all water weight and I'm just dehydrated, so I'll probably see it back soon. Oh, and it's TOM too! GRRRRR...
I bought a Jillian Michaels DVD last week. It is the "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism" one. I haven't opened it yet, we'll see how I feel tonight. :o But that is my goal for this week, to get that in at least 3 times.

K, so I was 156 this morning, but my diet has been ****ing (soooo very hungry) and I haven't had a normal BM in 2-3 weeks now :( Taking something today to "go" so I'm hoping to be back to the normal of 151 - 153 after.
As far as excercise, there are SO many options for me since I haven't excercised at all in about 2 months. I think I'm going to do Jillian and my Wii Active this week, so we'll see what happens.
luvinmybabies
October 7th, 2009, 11:32 AM
So I actually opened my Jillian DVD and tried it last night.
Unfortunately, I tried doing it while my kids were still awake, and the dog was in the house. Bad idea!! I almost kicked my toddler in the head multiple times, and the dog thought I was playing with him, so he was jumping on me. Note to self: I've got to find a better time to exercise!!
But through all that, I magaged to get through 3 of the 7 circuits, for a 25 minute (or so) workout. The only problem that I have with her is there is a lot of squatting and jumping. Not good for someone post 3 knee surgeries :(. Another note to self: Make an exercise video for people with sorry knees...and get rich off of it.
alykat06
October 7th, 2009, 11:35 AM
haha luvin looks like our dogs think alike haha, mine thought I was playing with him while I was exercising too lol. As far as the whole knee issue, I know on her newer dvd's you can skip through the different circuits so maybe look through them and see which ones are better for the knees?

Hope you had an excellent birthday bash Aly!!!!!:D:):D:)
I am currently in Indiana for a small visit with my BFF and hubby's family. Of course we had to hit the festival that we go to every year but I really didn't eat much. Kind of surprised me. But I will be honest, when I steeped on the official looking scale here in the fitness room of the hotel I was shocked by what it said. I even threw my son on there to see if it was lying to me but it was pretty accurate. It said 164 lbs!!! I could have died! Granted, I haven't drank water in probably 3 weeks and just finished TOM yesterday but come on........(not mentioning what I've been eating you noticed:o...) SO when we get home tomorrow night I am pulling my calorie counter book and food journal back out and am going to try my damnedest to get back in the habit of writing everything I eat. I know that will help keep me accountable. If I nibble on something that I don't know how many calories it is then it automatically goes down for 100 cals. Even if it's jaust a bite. Each one is 100. Maybe this will help stop the mindless snacking as well you know?
Hope every else's weekend is going well. I plan to check out the scale here again in the morning and then at home on Mon. Wish me well

When I went to the doctor, I had gained 11 pounds since June-- my thyroid and iron levels are low again..... but that isn't going to be an excuse. Since starting phen again, I have lost 4 pounds!! Well it was a wonderful weekend! Thankfully I didnt have a hangover but I was a bit sore from the moonbounce..I have bruises all over my body lol, but thats alright, they are def. good bruises! My scale says 189 right now..yikes! Then again the alcohol and the food ive eaten the past few days has not been the greatest, too many carbs. I'm back on track today and I have to get as many of these lbs off as possible before my weigh in on thursday. ooh boy lol...ive got 2 days lol. I also still dont have tom, I should have had it about 8 days ago, but then again im not on bc and my flow hasnt been regular, and I was also pretty sick last month and it could have surpressed it as well? All I know is that I'm not preggers lol.

Has anyone seen that commerical about the ab pro circle?? If you have, what do you think about it? I am kinda toying with the idea of trying it for 30 days but its 14.95 + 34.00 for shipping and then if you send it back thats another 34.00. So anyway, I dont know. give me your opions!!
Have a great day!

I see a lot of bad reviews on it, because its not worth the money. Most of the reviews complain about the cheapness of the construction of the machine. That the knee pad breaks and you really get more pain in the knees than anything else. Its also not worth the money because you can get the same if not better results if you just do crunches or other ab work outs that dont cost you a penny. If I were going to spend 200$ on a piece of equipment I would buy an ellipical from walmart. or maybe some more workout dvd's, or weight system, maybe even some more games for my wii fit. I think infomercials are all just big scams that try and get your money, I havent used the ab pro circle but anything that claims its easy to lose weight has a negative review from my standpoint lol.

Wow everyone is doing great, stay focused girls!
Happy belated Alykat :-)
So I'm weighing in a day late again lost 1 and I'm sitting at 155 (again). My hunger and bad cravings have been out of control lately so I didn't bother going back for more phen - I think I'm pretty immune now. So I started Hydroxycut Max today. Pretty nervous cause the only other OTC diet stuff I've taken was Alli (for about 1 month) and trimspa (for about 2 days - made me feel too jittery). It was a good day on...wasn't hungry like I have been, drank a TON of water and EVEN (wait for it) got my butt to the gym!!! I had a noticable increase in my energy and asside for a couple of times that I felt flushed, didn't feel too wierd.
I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes.

I want to join PLEASE. I have fell of the wagon about 2 or 3 times. I dont feel the urge to exercise any more. I am working alot of overtime because we are short staffed. So when I get home I just want to sit down.I finally got my MRI on my knee and he said I am looking at knee replacement down the road. The dostor told me no hard exercise on the knees. So I have just been riding my bike ( and that hasnt been alot ) since we have closed up the pool. So I need my BUTT KICKED and told to get back on track. I know I can count on you guys to help me with that.
I did weigh this morning....I am at 240. DANG IT. I bounce between 240 and 235. But I did start at 285 or 289 cant remember.I have been on this site off and one for over 1 year now. I really need you guys to help me out. And I will try my best to help you guys.

woohoo ignore the other post on your return thread, I hadnt realized you joined already :P. Your welcome here as always! We can do this! Maybe you can find an alternative to phen, I know there are other things out there that arent as expensive and can still help. Try and eat foods and such that stimulate Norepinephrine, this is a hormone/neurotransmitter that helps keep us from being hungry, gives us more energy, and more motivation. Phen helps to increase these levels and thats why we feel overall happier. This in conjunction with other hormones allows s to feel full, when they are decreased we get hungry and feel as if were never satisfied because that is what they are telling the body, then when we decrease our intakes they think were starving and it causes that yo-yo affect. Heres more info:
Norepinephrine, also known as noradrenaline, is a neurotransmitter found in the sympathetic nervous system.
The sympathetic nervous system stimulates the heart, blood vessels, sweat glands, the large internal organs, and the adrenal medulla in the brain.
Like dopamine, norepinephrine has a stimulating effect, fosters alertness, and plays an important regulatory role in long-term memory and learning. It also protects endorphins from being broken down prematurely.
Optimal levels of this transmitter can stimulate a sense of wellbeing or even create a euphoric effect in stressful situations . . .
Yet excess norepinephrine can fuel the physiological expressions of fear and anxiety, as may be the case for people who suffer from anxiety disorders.
The amino acid tyrosine, found in high concentrations in cheese, is converted by specific reactions into at least two neurotransmitters . . . norepinephrine and dopamine.
Norepinephrine is produced from dopamine, with the help of the amino acids phenylalanine, lysine, and methionine. Vitamins C and B-6, magnesium, and manganese are important cofactors.
Norepinephrine Functions in:
Arousal, energy, drive
Stimulation
decreased appetite
release of glucose from energy stores
Fight or Flight
Norepinephrine Deficiencies result in:
Lack of energy
Lack of motivation
First "state" called depression
Supplement required for norepinephrine:
L-phenylalanine
Vitamin B6
Useful sources of building blocks for norepinephrine:
Almonds
Apples
Avocado
Bananas
Beef liver or kidney
Blue-green algae
Cheese
Fish
Most green vegetables
Lean meat
Nuts
Grains
Pineapple
Poultry
Tofu
This is also why many people who have ADHD and are on phen feel much better. When our body has enough we're blessed with feelings of bliss and pleasure, euphoric, appetite control, controlled motor movements, and we feel focused. So try and eat these foods and pick up these supplements at the drug store and see if it helps. My doctor said that the depletions of these transmitters is what causes some of us to gain weight back when we stop phen, not because we havent learned good habits but because we are always hungry, cannot be satisfied, lack energy, and lack motivation. Thats why he will keep some people on small doses of phen long term so they can maintain thier weights.
Miswoo thanks for the belated birthday wish but its not til tomorrow..your not late :P. please be careful with hydroxycut ok? I mean of course we all understand that we need something to help but I have heard so many recalls of hydroxycut this year and I would be careful and make sure you do some research. Of course I dont know much about it so I'm just concerned but hope it works for you. If not you can always try what I suggested for marie...
I woke up this morning weighing 184 woot I'm back to saturdays weight. Hopefully the doctors scale will be nice to me and not make me too heavy after a days worth of eating/drinking/and having clothes on lol. I dont think it really matters to him as long as I lose something, after all he wants my money lol. So I have lost about 10-11 lbs this month and 46 lbs all together again, back to March's weight grr. I'm hoping to get my exercise room set up some more this weekend so I dont have an excuse to not work out, right now my excuse is that I dont have a tv to watch while im riding my bike or walking on the treadmill lol. Well if not then I guess I need to drag the damn bike into the livingroom/spare bedroom/ or my bedroom lol..no more excuses. :) Now heres to us getting past these darn platoues..since I have been on this journey I have not seen 182, I would love to be at 180 very soon, I want to be able to say I've lost 50 lbs, I will be estatic when I do and right now thats my motivation to keep me going. What about you guys, whats going to push you this week?

Oh, good thought I missed the big day :-)
Yes, I know what you mean about the recalls - it was due to liver problems on just a few people and it was a voluntary recall on several products. Since hydroxycut sells so many products worldwide and such a small number of instances - I felt that it was safe enough to try. However, I know what signs to look for just in case.
I'm doing well on it so far and had enough energy to go to the gym 2 days in a row after not going but twice in the last 3 months. Just haven't felt like it lately and working alot of overtime due to the flu season hitting kids early this year.
Are you still working long hours too? BTW I bought some Sketchers Shape Ups today - they look so goofy, so I hope they at least work for what they are intended for :-)

I don't know if I will get fussed at for this but I ordered an old appetite suppressant offline that I used before I moved to this state. (whispers quietly) it has ephedra in it. Please don't send me hate mail...I know it's not that good for me but I really needed the extra boost of energy that comes with it.:o Phen just hasn't been cutting it lately. I found a few from a previous script and I couldn't tell a difference at all when I took them.
Otherwise the weekend is rolling along. Three kids have been sick with three different germs and I had to work part of the weekend. Same ole same ole I guess. but I was down to 162 today so that made me hapy. How's everyone else doing?

Ok so I just found my phen! I have been taking a BREAK from it, hoping it would work more effectively if I took a couple of months off. I am starting it tomorrow and that gives me about 40 days before my Wedding! November 30th is the big day BTW! I weighed in today at the same 187 lbs. The good thing is I have been maintaining and not gaining. But here we go....I want to drop the weight from now on. I would like to get to the 160's even if it is 169 by the 30th of November. so thats like 18 pounds! OMG that sounds like so much to lose in so little time, but I am MOTIVATED! Hopefully the phen will kick in good and with diet and exercise get me there faster.

I took 2 small naps at work yesterday...shhh dont tell anyone. during breaks, they were like 15-30 mins long, after having coffee yesterday morning, no sugar or carbs that could have put me to sleep, then went home and almost fell asleep on the couch at 8pm, and was asleep before 9, and still didnt want to get up this morning lol. today is better than yesterday but I still hope tom is over soon. My goal for this week is to not give into cravings from tom, not gain any weight this upcoming weekend (im yo-yoing because of stupid weekends!) and try and get as close as possible to my 50 lb goal. That means I need to step up the exercise. Motivation is lacking in that department, im hoping that my hubby gets stuff finished with the exercise room this week/weekend so I acctually use my equipment. Its so boring sitting in there looking at clutter, no tv, and working out. I have been exercising by playing with the dog, cleaning, household chores, but not much else. I need to break out the 30 day shred grr..need to catch that darn motivation, lock it in a cage and throw away the key :P

Aly, thanx for the motivation! I am about to take my first phen pill in about an hour. I slept in late and had a small bowl of cereal as soon as I got up......so I will wait about an hour and take it on an an empty stomach. I weighed in today again at 187......so I am hoping to see some different lower numbers by next tuesday! I plan on doing the wii fit today and working abs tonight. Plus drinking lots more water than I have been, and keeping better track of the food I put in my mouth.

OMG! Looks like I popped back in at the perfect time!!!
My name is Kristin, and I have been MIA for a LONG time!!! Started in 12/08 weighing in at a hefty 257 (height 5'9), now down to 197. Used phen on and off during the last 10 months. Hoping to take off another 20 lbs. The best thing has been being able to buy all new clothes! Even my shoes from last winter are too big :)
Problem is, like alot of you have also found, I have lost motivation to continue! I haven't been gaining back anything, but I know it's a risky gamble. Going to try really hard to start working out again, at least 3 days a week, and need to get back on the weight watchers wagon. (I lost 10 lbs in September thanks to WW)
Lucky for me, I tend to lose more weight in winter, just cuz I am bored so it's easier to work out. Not much else to do when it's 20 degrees outside, right! Hopefully this winter works in my favor again!
Good to see you guys! Ive missed ya'll!!

Ops!! I forgot to weigh in this a.m. I will do it tomorrow.
Taz, I will keep you and the family in my prayers. There's been 8 cases here in my small little town. My Son is sick and they tested him but he was negative so I was happy about that but he does have broncittis (however you spell that)
I must confess that I have screwed off for the past 6 days!!!!! Yes I am a big fat loser and I deserve whatever you want to call me.
Kristin~ Great to see you!!

I went to the doc today and I only lost 6 lbs last month. That is better than nothing I suppose, but losing 15 like I did in the first month would have been nice. I have been sticking with low cal (I was doing Atkins, but kept falling off that wagon) and it seems to be working for me.. I must say I like having more variety in what I can eat. It's nice to be able to eat an apple or a whole grain something or other...

Come on Kristen - I have eaten an estimated 2000 calories (13 servings - 150 a serving) worth of Mother's Frosted Animal Cookies this week (I only thank God it was in more than one sitting, lol) I almost worked out while my hubby was at the dentist, but decided to go to Hobby Lobby real quick since it's right next to the gym. When I finally got to the gym I was confronted by my trainer who was trying to get me to come in this week - told him what's the point, since I have lost more since I haven't been working out...a look of horror came across his face before he laughed and said we need to make sure I'm not losing muscle - I said of coarse it's muscle (what else could it be??) About then my phone rang and hubby was ready to go home, so never did work out.
Still 154 and other than the cookies I have done really good this week back to eating more like I used to. Figured I would have dropped a few, but think TOM is around the corner.

Thank you so much Trisha! Its going around so bad here. killing young kids, thats so sad,,,,Yea be careful when the test comes back negative cause thats how my familys did to and the hospital said that the H1N1 test comes back a false negative on some people and some comes back positive right away......they had a family here of 6 and 4 came back false negative and the other 2 positive but when they sent them off to another place they were all positive.....so even if the test come back false here they are treating people who still have the symptoms and are sick......its just really scary whats going on.......but my sister and her kids and hubby they are so so sick.......Im starting to feel a little better just really worn out....Im trying to stay away from everyone and away from public places as much as possible.......Thanx for all ur prayers we need them all.....I hope ur son gets to feeling better, just watch for the signs and if he has trouble breathing alot take him back to dr.....they say the H1N1 weakens and thins out ur lungs, and then sets up pneumonia and this is why people are dying from it cause they cant breathe,,,,my hubbys 1st cousin age 41 just died last week in ohio from this.....Taz

Just wanted to let you all know what I did yesterday on the official day 1 of my 40 day melt down!
I got up had a small bowl of cereal 110 cals with 1% milk, waited and hour took my phen, 2 hours later I had a lean cuisine for lunch it had 280 cals.
Then I did about 200 crunches (split up in sets of 50. I then had a cookie at my mothers and a cup of coffee. (not sure of cals lets just say 200 to be safe and over estimate). for dinner I had a grilled chicken sandwich and a few french fries.....no idea about the cals there so I will round up to 700. Then I gave in and had a small bowl of vanilla ice cream with choc syrup and cashews....I know BAD! But it was my first day and I and gonna slowly ease into the low cal diet. I got home and my fiance' and I worked out in our gym. I did 60 rows with my hands facing down one way and 60 rows with my hands facing up both with 45 pounds of weight.
I did 50 leg extensions sitting up with 70 lbs. of weight and 50 leg extensions laying on my stomach with 50lbs of weight. (not real sure if these are the correct terms but I did it! I also managed to drink 80oz. of water yesterday which is good but I need to up it another 10-20 oz.
Compared to what I was doing before this was a good day (except for the cookie, ice cream and french fries) I feel good though and I got on the scale this morning just to see and I was 186! So yeah 187 has been my stigma for like a month and even with a few bad choices I made enough good choices to make it finally budge! I hope to be 183 by the next weight in!
BTW I am posting daily just so I can keep more accountable. I feel even worse about the ice cream and cookie now that I have admitted it to you all! from now on I will see a temptation and think "Will I want to tell my phensters about this?"....then hopefully I will make the right choice and just say no!
You all help me so much more than you could ever know! Seriously I love ya all! I will be reporting agai tomorrow.

Taz Thanx girl! Except I don't have 40 pounds to lose. I have 18 pounds to lose in 40 days (well 17 now.) my ultimate goal is 162 and a lot of toning which I am incorporating now so that would put me at 24 pounds to lose total. I just want to lose 24 pounds of pure fat. These last ones just seem to creep off! BTW CONGRATS on reaching the 170's! THATS AWESOME! I am right behind ya girl!

If you don't get up early just get yourself to do it later in the day. I work out at night cause I have to force myself up when the alarm clock goes off already. I already have to set it for 6. 5 would be too much for me.

Right now everyone is sort of setting thier own exercise challenges for the week, while we want to lose wieght some of us dont weigh everyday so we have different goals. Mine right now is to get to the 50 pound mark, but others may have goals of getting in more water, losing inches, eating less, etc. If you would like to post a challenge for the next week or two feel free, anyone can chime in anytime.

Hey guys,
I am back too, I have been crazy busy with a new job and the family (blah blah blah) and I think it is time now to get back at it and try to get the last 25lbs off, hopefully before my birthday in Jan! I had a 60 day ** of phen since June and it is all gone so I am going back to the dr. so I can refill, and get back on track. I have managed to not gain any weight back so I am still at 150 for now...
I have really missed you guys, the support is so amazing! ;)

Vixenna your first day sounds just fine, heck you did more exercise than I have this entire month, so I would say you burned that ice cream and french fries off lol.
I weighed this morning, the scale said 187, Tom should be gone soon and my weight loss should go down again. I need to go get some different groceries and mix things up a bit, I think by body is bored with what I have been eating. I also have been eating a bit late I think, I used to eat around 5-530 but now I dont get home til 5 and sometimes wait to eat til 7 and go to bed at 9. So I need to get some bigger meals in during the day and have something light on my way home. I really hope I have this weekend off so I can get this gym room set up, still no real progress on it yet. This weekend seems like its going to be a movie weekend, we are going to see saw 6 and cirque du freak as well. Maybe a couple of others, hopefully I wont have too much popcorn and my weight wont stall again. I havent lost any more weight since my doctors appt last week and I dont want to go there empty handed lol. Heres to me getting back into the exercise routine!
Welcome back sunshine!

My goal has been to get on my elliptical at least 3 times a week. So far, I have been doing pretty well with it. I just get so bored after being on it for 20 minutes or so. I feel like I am running, and getting nowhere .
When I first started back on it, I began to gain weight...water retention maybe?? Talk about frustrated!!! I swore that if I didn't see that scale go down, the elliptical would be removed from my house...STAT! But today, the scale said that I had lost the two pounds that I gained since starting, who knows if it will stay that way?
I have been at this "lifestyle change" officially for a year now, and I feel like I should have met my goal long ago! :(
My motivation department is closed, and I need to open it up again...soon!

Day 2 went pretty smooth. I had a small bowl of wheaties for breakfast, a small bowl of raisin bran for lunch (I am on a cereal kick) For dinner we were in town and stopped at a burger joint called Culvers. I had a hamburger and small fries and split a small frozen custard mixed with fresh strawberries with my daughter. For some reason I have been craving sweets more than I ever have in my life. I never used to care for them, but lately OMG I want them......and NO I AM NOT preggo.
I walked a little over a mile yesterday and thats about it as far as exercise goes....I will be going back to the gym tonight. (We do every other day with the weight training.)

Vix - what is wrong with us (not preggo either fixed back in 2000, lol), but man when I say I'm craving sweets I mean NEVER in my life has it been like this. I don't know if it's that I have cut out sugar for so long and been using artificial sweeteners or not (I heard that you crave it cause your body needs it, but not sure about that). I was saying a few days ago that I ate an ENTIRE bag of frosted Mother's animal crackers (you know the pink and white ones??) About 2000 cals in the entire bag - but I freeze them so I ate the 13 servings in about 5 sittings! Since then I've only had 1 apple fritter - have no desire for the mounds of cupcakes at work tonight so that's good.
We need to pray for each other, lol! BTW I know what Culvers is - only been there once and it was REALLY good!!!

I did 45 minutes on the elliptical last night. That's huge for me! I was so proud of myself, and then I stepped on the scale this morning...UP a pound!!! WTF??? I've been drowning myself with water and not eating late at night.
I'm really thinking about busting out my Phen again...but I'm a very stubborn person ( I know...newsflash!!), and I'm at the point to where I don't want to depend on a pill anymore. That's just me...I'm not knocking anyone else. Part of me feels like if I went back on the Phen, that would mean I failed at doing this on my own. Does anyone else feel like that???

I am still taking mine, but I can totally relate. I know I can't depend on them forever and I am very nervous about when the time comes to not take them anymore. You should give yourself props for doing this on your own. Even in gaining a lb. You are making good choices and that is awesome!
I am going into my third month and not feeling the energy like I did in the first. Kind of bums me out, but hopefully this will help to prepare me when I am not taking them at all. I think I am building a tolerance too fast. Next month I am going to ask my doc to switch to a different one. I hope he will. I have roughly 50 lbs to lose and I want to get close to my goal before I stop taking them altogether.
Anywho, I am going to add some interval training three days p/week to my running challenge. I really hope it works. I was going to do it for a month at least and see if it had any effects on my fat loss.

Have you seen my thread "how it works" yet? Well my dr. believes that the main reason we gain weight is because of chemical imbalances in the brain, and that there are other foods/supplements that can be taken that make us lose weight without trying so hard. Your doing great! When you push yourself harder, try not to look on the scale, remember the water retention because your muscles are inflamed. Also to help with that eat protein before/after your workout. You wont be failing if you go back on phen, you have come to a rough patch and have plateaued for a while, you wont fail if you come back on phen and lose more weight, in reality you would be winning! Plus based on what my doctor said, I have a chemical imbalance that may not be cured once I get to goal weight, so he might keep me on low doses of phen to maintain, so I may need to rely on the pill, but I will be able to enjoy my losses for a long time :).
Check it out guys if you havent already, to me it makes complete sense because on phen I feel like a normal person and I dont have to do too much to lose weight while on phen, its off of phen that I feel weak, unmotivated, and cant control my appetite. Maybe you guys can relate to one of those chemical imbalances.
JustaRandomGirl - you know you sound just like me when I first started phen, but really phen still works and your not building a tolerance, were just slow losers. Its not easy for us to lose weight on our own, and being on phen is the equivalent to being able to lose weight on your own. I don't lose a darn thing on my own, while other people have slow losses on their own. When they get on phen they lose a bunch, but we sort of have a normal person's loss, you know what I mean? So we just have to be grateful that were losing at all and that we will eventually get to goal. I have to depend on this pill for now because I lose slow, giving up the pill would mean giving up my losses. I always thought I was building a tolerance too, but really it worked great, I just didnt realize it, it wasn't until I came off for a break that I realized how tired I was without phen, how hungry I got etc. We just feel normal and therefore we feel like were getting less than everyone else.
Finally TOM is dead and gone! I weighed 186 today and I can see myself around 183 next week (I hope!) I'm going to get some much needed housework done and hopefully it doesn't rain I can do some outside activities. So far it looks like the hubby and I will be at the movies most of the weekend lol, were going to see Cirque du Freak and Saw 6 for sure! I think I finally figured out my halloween costume so I'm gonna go search for it this weekend, I have to try it on before I buy it, I have a bad feeling my hips are going to look retarded! get this, I measured myself yesterday, my hips are 44inches, my waist is 32!! an 12 inch difference, yikes!!!!! so I tend to look stupid in clothes since my upper body is smaller than my lower body, oh well, I really want it anyways..hope it covers my butt too :P:

MissWoo- This stinks huh? I really never EVER liked sweets before other than when TOM would visit. But this is like all the time! (I will pray for you too girl!)
Day 3 was really good. I had a small bowl of wheaties for breakfast, a diet shake for lunch, took my daughter to the pumpkin patch and ran around a bit with her there. Then we went shopping because I needed to get a few colder weather tops.
I had 3 of those "Austin" peanut butter crackers at about 32 cals a piece as a snack.
For dinner we had chinese. I had a half order of the almond chicken with steamed rice.
We came home and I worked out the same as I did in the gym on day 1. Rows each way 60 reps each. 50 reps of Leg curls and 50 reps of Leg extensions. I am sore! Trying to avoid the scale is super hard, also trying to get all my water in is hard for me. I just am not thirsty until night time and then well who wants to drink all that water at night and have to get up umpteen times throughout the night?
Ok ok, in a rush now, but that was my day 3.

Ok, so just when I feel like I am going to have time to focus on just me, something else happens. Stress eating is my problem and I have to find a way to deal with it. I only lost 1 pound my second week, but I wasn't as strick as I should have been. Snacking when I AM NOT hungry... GRRRRRRRrrrr... how do I stop this??? My son and DIL have seperated, and she is in school full time and he works 1 1/2 hrs away so they have decided it will be best if we keep the baby so I can take him to and from preschool/daycare. I love him more than life, and I really don't mind, but having a 15 mth old again after so long really takes so getting use to. I didn't work when my kids were little so now I feel like a working mom. It really isn't easy!!! So, I have to figure out how to be able to focus on me more and stop stress eating. If I don't, I'll never lose this weight. Tips on how all of you young moms balance it all would help!!! LOL

I'm Courtney, been on Phentermine off and On since the middle of 2007. Worked wonders for the the first time but now I'm off to a rough start since starting up again in August of this year. I am having a hard time loosing the lbs but I'd like to loose 30lbs ASAP! I'm currently 5'2 [[5'3 if I don't slouch hah]] and 160lbs. I have two beautiful child ages 2 1/2 and 2 months. && A wonderful husband who I haven't been very nice to lately since I've been seriously upset with my weight issues. I'm alittle late on the whole challenge but I'm here now and thats all that matters heh :)

Hey everyone, I'm back at work after a 3 day weekend and man I hate mondays lol. I would have loved to stay in bed and sleep in lol. Overall I think I did pretty good with my eating this weekend. I limited my portions on bad food and did better than most of my weekends. I didnt weigh in this morning, I forgot since I was more concerned about getting dressed because I was freezing lol. I hope to be down a couple more lbs this week, I dont want it to seem like I havent lost any more weight come my weigh in on thursday, hopefully this week isnt too stressful and I can exercise more! we still havent completed working on my gym room, hopefully it gets done soon!

I did pretty good over the weekend with eating (except when it got later in the evening). I didn't eat much at all during the day as I was pretty busy with housework, etc. But what bugged me was that when we had all settled in for the evening, I started munching on stuff like popcorn and even some candy. Jeez. I have got to stop doing that!!! Any tips on how to leave stuff alone at night??
Anyway, I did really well with my running challenge over the weekend. Today I am going to start some interval training. I will be sprinting as fast as I can for 60 sec (actually probably 30) and then walking for 90 sec and then doing as many reps of these as I can in 25 min. I hope this helps to spead up the fat loss. I was going to do it for a month and see what the end result was. I will do the interval training on mon, wed, fri and then do the regular running I have been doing on the other days. What do you guys think??
I have thought about getting the 30 day shred or doing other aerobics, but I havent found the willingness to exercise at any other time except for my lunch hour (well, besides the weekends)
Actually this weekend was great for exercise, thank goodness it was nice outside. I took my kids to the church where I run and they played outside and had a picnic while I ran. I could keep my eye on them, they got their exercise too, we had a great time.
I hope everyone has a great week.

Well ladies- it's been a free for all. I think I've eatin everything that hasn't bitten me first. I know I'm getting ready to start but man, WTH!?! It's almost like I've picked up this mind set that because I'm working so hard and going back to school that I deserve a little indulgance and food is it! INSANITY!!! What is going on with me? Someone slap some sense into me before I eat the house:o Hubby is still doing well at maintaining from the HCG protocol. We had our family pics taken last month and couldn't believe the difference in his face. I just look older (booo!) there is about 1.5 years between the pics. Plus I wanted to share some of my heathens (I have no shame:rolleyes:)

I refuse to get on the scale today!
Our daughter has been sick and having trouble with her asthma, up coughing all night. I was up all night with her Sunday night (sitting her up, doing breathing treatments, etc...), so at work yesterday I was overloading on sugar, chocolate, coffee, caffeine. Anything to get me through the day!! Why is it that when you are exhausted, all you want to do is eat??
So I know I am all out of sorts right now, and getting on the scale just wouldn't be a smart thing to do...I might wind up hurting somebody! :D
HUNTR...
Girl, what is going on with you??? Step away from the snacks!!! They have an evil plan to s u c k you in and never let you go!!
I might need to re-plan my little road trip to come give you a swift kick in the rear! (Although we could probably take turns kicking each other!)

I weighed in today at 184, at least I didnt gain over the weekend woot! I hope to be down at least another lb this week, I am exercising again, I did part of the 30 day shred yesterday and man my side is killing me today lol. Oh well I gotta **** it up and get through some more exercise tonight. I ordered my costume for Halloween and it should be here soon. I hope it fits! I got a plus size, I know my plus size costume from last year was too big but since I havent tried it on I figured its better to go too big than too small. Plus this costume seems more form fitting anyways. I'm going to be a smooth criminal :P, sorry i love MJ and have always loved smooth criminal and the clothes they wear. I'm making my own white cuffs, and wannabe spats for over my heels,] since I didnt buy the amazing boots that go with it and got some fishnet stockings. I got a black hat with white around it. I'm probably going to get a toy gun or knife as an accessory. Oh and I got some spanx for underneath lol. I tried them on and so far I love them, thank whoever made them lol, 30$ spent ..well worth it.

Sounds like you are doing great! I had a good weekend as far as exercise goes. Did alright on the eating, however I found myself grazing later in the evening. Nothing too bad, but I munched on popcorn, some graham crackers and even some candy. *sigh* I think the munchies at night could be from boredom and old habits??
My weight seemed to stay in the 191 range. Yesterday, I weighed 192 but this morning the scale said 190. I just started some interval training and will do that mon, wed, fri. The other days, I will continue with my running challenge. So I hope that helps in speeding up some fat loss. I measure myself on Friday's and I didn't "lose" much of myself :( the last time I checked.
Today, I feel like I am coming down with something. I feel achy and my throat is sore. I didn't run today because I went to lunch with my boss and another co worker. I ate chicken fajitas and had just a little bit of chips and salsa. I love mexican food and I know that I won't cut it out of my life so I am trying to make better choices at the restaurant. I made it a point to not order the beans and rice and I just used a dab of sour cream and guac. I ate two of them. I tried to find the menu online, but had no luck so I will estimate that my meal was 1000 cals (I am thinking I am rounding up and hope it wasn't that much).. I tried to get a general idea of how many cals are in a chicken fajita and the best I came up with was anywhere from 300 to 450 cals. I felt guilty for not going to run. It has made me anxious.
Anyway, sorry for rambling. Just an update on what I have been up to. I hope the mex food and the not running today won't stall my loss.

Dont worry so much about the snacking, everyones appetite comes back as well as cravings after a few weeks on phen. Portion control is just key, and try to determine why you snacked, maybe being bored? Try preoccupying yourself next time you want something to eat. Like you said about the mexican food, you cant deprive yourself and you make better choices, not running today and mixing up your food choices might acctually help you lose this week. our bodies like change (not to mention mexican food cleans me out ;) ) I made chicken quesidillas at home the other night, and havent gained and Im feeling a loss coming on.

Hi everyone :) Do I qualify for this challenge?! Haha I started Phen...woo maybe two years ago? It was the summer before my junior year, and now i'm a freshman in college. I lost almost 70 lbs. I started at 220 and got down to the low 150's, but never past that. After that summer, tho, I stopped taking Phen. And then I just started gaining like crazy. Isn't it weird how you don't really notice all the weight coming back? My moment of realization was last thursday when I got weighed for the first time in months and was 190. The jeans I had at the beginning of the summer are so tight they hurt, and it's so embarrassing. Anyway, I couldn't get a dr that would give me Phen, but instead i'm on PhenD. I really wanna be part of this thread so that I can hold myself accountable with you guys, the women whom I admire so much :) I've lost 3 lbs since thursday, so I hope I'll get back on track soon!
Ohh and my account says Phen newbie, but it's because my old account Erica [tres magnifique] had some password issues :)

Hi everyone...hopefully it's not too late for me to join. My name is Renee i'm 38 SAHM to a beautiful 5 y/o girl i've been on Phen off and on since Feb 2006! I'm going to the dr tomorrow to go back on so i can get that boost I need to lose the last 19lbs. I've been off and on Phen, because my daughter has epilepsy, and everytime something occurs w/her i end up stress eating. I just found out that my husband's job is extending their free gym membership to spouses (it used to be employees only) so I no longer have an excuse not to go to the gym. I plan on going while my daughter is in school (a whole 3hrs 15min to myself to destress whahoo). I NEED to get healthier for my daughter as well as myself. I would love it if I could join your group.

Hey Guys!!!
How are things going for all?
I have got to get back into this!!!! I really don't want to lose anymore....well, who am I kidding. I will always want to lose more weight!!!! When I look in the mirror I will always see that "big girl" instead of what is really looking back at me!! But that is a whole issue in its self!!!
It seems like I have gotten sooooo lazy in the last few months!!! I hurt my foot back over the summer and was unable to exercise alot and it's like I have come up with one excuse after another ever since. I need a big kick in the *****. I know that one of my problems is that I have driffted away from you guys!!! Before I was on here several times a day, now I might check in once or twice every other week or so. I really do miss chatting with all of you!! I've got to start making more time for the board again!!! Maybe this will help me.

Welcome back guys, we don't deny anyone who wants to join this challenge, because after all were all here for the same reason.Yes it is very helpful to come on here and stay accountable, I know when I make choices, I think"if I eat this I have to admit it to the phen board" so feel free to check in with us as much as you need, I like to post almost every day, like a journal entry as to how things are going. I just don't check in as often on the weekend.
So I was right about feeling a loss coming on, I was down a lb today at 183, only 3 more to go before I hit my 50 lb goal mark. I hope to get there in the next few weeks, the halloween party may set me back on saturday, I just have to be careful about my alcohol consumption. Hopefully after this there won't be any more parties for a while lol. I did exercise again yesterday, although my side is killing me from the 30 day shred on monday,so I did a few miles on my bike.

Hi all!! I have to tell you that I have been walking on my treadmill but I have been a really naughty girl!! I have been cheating with peanut M&M's. Shameful, I know!! I just cant seem to get the exercise and eating right hooked up togeather. If I eat good, I dont exercise, If I exercise, then I eat bad! I think I have a short in my circuit upstairs!! LOL.
Anyway, I am going grocery shopping tomorrow and I am buying good stuff!! And I will not buy any peanut M&M's, I promise!
Have a great day everyone!

Hello everyone! I've been doing great. My eating has been fantastic. Last night was kind if a struggle to decide on dinner. I'm in college and have to live off of my apt/dorm's meal plan. It's a little cafe that serves pizza, burgers, fries, etc. There's a salad bar but that gets old fast. I really want a kitchen :( I usually will get the dinner specials because they're pretty balanced, but last night it was chicken fried steak. I had eaten the chicken parmesan the night before because i had a lot of calories left over for dinner, so instead i got a turkey burger last night. It was pretty good. I also had these baked veggie crisps that tasted like chips.
This morning my scale said 184.6. I weighed myself at the gym yesterday, a more doctor type scale, and it said 187. I'm stoked! That's from 190 on wednesday.
The day's just started and I hope it will be a good one. It's snowing like CRAZY here. I'm not going to class, I don't want to walk in this nonsense! Seems i'll have to use the gym downstairs instead of the campus gym :( which ****s because it's so small and has nothing!
Anyways, have a good day everyone!
oh yeah,
Alykat you and I have the same birthday :)

Welcome back and welcome to everyone!!
I had a good day. I ate right, done some interval training at lunch. Now I'm just really lazy. I need to be more active in the evenings.
I've been watching my cals instead of carbs and I am averaging 1400 p/day. That seems like to much to me but the scales have been going down. Just not as fast as I would like.
I hope everyone is having a good evening!

Hi everyone... So I went to my dr today. First I'd just like to say that I like my "biggest loser" scale better than my dr's WW scale. Apparently I weigh 153.6 on his scale (then again, I did have all of my clothes on & boots on so that could bring me up to 153.6) Anyway... he want me to try Topamax instead of phen along with going to the gym & watching my carbs. I would like to stay in this group if I can even tho I won't be taking phen. (i need all the support i can get) :)

rlw- There are several of us that are no longer taking phen and still post here. Don't let that run you off!;) You're right; support is very important and if you are anything like me; you need all you can get! You'll have to let us know how the Topamax works for you. I know it's an anti-epileptic med but they are finding that many of them have alot of different uses and effects on the brain. I look forward to seeing what you think about it.

justarandomgirl- you sound like your doing just fine, remember you dont want to push yourself to do something you may not want to do once your off of phen, those who do too much while on phen find out the hard way that when you come off of phen that sometimes you cant do the same things on thier own, thats what causes some ppl to gain weight back. 1400 calories is a great amount to eat, my calorie counter on fitday.com says I should eat 2600 a day to lose 23 lbs by christmas, so 1400 may acctually be on the low end, just remember that when you eat more healthy stuff your body utilizes it more, and when you are exercising you have to eat more to compensate for the calories you burn, it would seem like your neutralizing the exercise but your not, your just giving your body more fuel to burn off.
Tmreese, I hear you about those peanut m&ms, you cant just have one, and if your not careful that whole bag will be gone before you know it lol. I love me some m&ms lol. I wont buy anything junky because of that reason. When you get sweet cravings grab a protein bar or shake instead.
erica - I cant imagine how hard it must be to be in college and try to lose weight. Working around yours and everyone elses schedule must stink. Especially having to make difficult choices on school food. I commend you for being so strong, I dont like exercising infront of people, so I wouldnt have the guts to go into a school gym.
I got my costume in the mail last night, I love it and it fits great! I was so scared it was going to be too small or too big but its just right. http://www.flickr.com/photos/28577267@N05/4054800721/in/photostream/http://www.flickr.com/photos/28577267@N05/4054803199/in/photostream/ Hopefully these pics will post, lemme know what you think.
I weighed 183 again, I go in for my weigh in at the doctors today, last time I weighed 184 at home but there I weight 2-3 lbs heavier because my appt is at night and I eat during the day, that and of course I have clothes on, dont think hed like it too much if I stripped of all my clothes lol. Hopefully im at least 1 lb down, if not I'll blame it on TOM lol. or the aaaaaalllcohol lmao :D
Good luck if your kids go trick-or-treating guys, just remember to stay away from the candy lol.

Hello all! I've had a great day today :) School was cancelled AGAIN, as was work. I went to the gym and did the bike for 45 min instead of my usual 30. It rocked.
Alykat, I read in a post (that I searched for ALL day and couldn't find!!) that you made to somebody that you made buffalo chicken tenders by dipping tenders in skim milk, cornflakes and hot sauce. I LOVE hot wings. Favorite food ever. So I tried it tonight for dinner and they were great! We ate them with celery, and then had jello with bananas and fat free whipped cream for dessert :) was FANTASTIC! Thank you! Oh, and did you figure out how many calories they were? All i'd eaten was a subway sandwich for lunch so I still had 1100+ calories left over, even though I snacked on some honey roasted peanuts and veggie crisps throughout the day. It's probably safe to say I was under my 1500 calorie count, right?
Tomorrow's 'official' weigh-in day, week one. I'm nervous and excited at the same time!

hi all... so today my husband had the day off & he took me to the fitness center that his company has.. we signed up, I have to get medical clearance from my dr & I have an appointment with the nutritionist on Nov. 12. I'm starting this whole process s l o w l y (lol) I sure as heck didn't put the weight on overnight, so I don't expect it to come off overnight. I'm giving myself till Dec 31st to take the 19lbs off. that's about 2lbs a week. I'm trying not to stress over it & just take it slow (i'm sure this sounds silly to some of you but if i try to lose too much too quickly, i'l just get fustrated & give up...been there done that).
My goal week of 11/1...
30 day shred 3 times this week
drink more water
no more dessert
there.... i put it out there & i can't delete it.
Have a great night!!:D

I would say you were under the 1500 calorie mark. I dont know what the calorie count is, but I believe its safe to say that they are loaded with protein and very little carbs/calories.
RLW6202 Hi all... so today my husband had the day off & he took me to the fitness center that his company has.. we signed up, I have to get medical clearance from my dr & I have an appointment with the nutritionist on Nov. 12. I dont think it sounds silly at all, I think everyone in this challenge has the same "less is more" expectations. When were new were so excited about all the "1st month losses" thinking its going to be so easy to get the weight off. We dont realize its going to be much harder, so we set ourselves up for disappointment. Losing 2 lbs a week and not stressing over it is the best way to lose. Its healthy, you stick to good habits, your happier, and over all you have a higher success rate when coming off of phen.
So I weighed 2 lbs heavier today WTF?!?! Oh well, I'm probably retaining water, I usually have a light dinner during the week, or just a snack, because I try to get more food in my system earlier, so I eat a bigger breakfast, moderate lunch, and light dinner, I see more losses this way because my body is burning those calories. Last night though I ate at my moms, it wasnt too much, I had some beef soup with rice and carrots, then had one rib and some tater tots. My guess is the sodium from the soup probably made me retain some water, plus all yesterday I drank water but only went to the bathroom once, really wierd for me considering I go alot lol. I'm going to get more water in today, watch the sodium and carbs to try and get this off of me, plus I incorperated more exercise this week so that could be another reason. I didnt go to my weight loss appt but I still have 2 weeks worth of pills from skipping here and there so I just saved some money lol. I didnt exercise last night since I went to my moms, well I did get some exercise if you count bedroom exercises ;). My hubby has lost 20 lbs in the past month and a half. Its insane what 20 lbs can do to your sex life. I can finally wrap my arms around him hehe. We no longer feel like an old married couple who have sex once a month, but young newly weds :P.

Happy Friday everyone. I am 2 lbs down on this official weigh in... Yay!
This week, I have done alright food wise. I ate around 1800 cals on Tuesday whenI went to eat Mexican food for lunch. It seemed too high, but it didn't affect me too bad. I added interval training this week to my running. This week was kind of an off week as far as my running routine goes. I am going to repeat this weeks running goals again next week, then move up the week after. That means I will be running 20 mins non stop on the regular running challenge, and then for the interval training I will be sprinting for 30 sec and "cooling down" for 60 sec. Hopefully I won't have as many distractions next week.
Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Haha alykat that's the best kind of exercise! It's pretty cool how many calories are burnt there!
Official weigh-in day one, and the scaled said 182.8 :) While i'm still weary of how my scale will compare to the dr.'s, i've either lost 7.2 or 4.2 lbs in the first week. Either way, I'M STOKED!
Bday party tomorrow for my little cousin - let's see how strong my will power is! Have a good weekend everybody!

Been away from the scale for 9 days now (Have been house sitting for my mom while she has been out of town.) Needless to say my exercise routine has gone a bit downhill and my eating has gone a little upward....due to TOM and forgetting my Phen at home. I am disappointed in myself, but I will be back home tomorrow and I will see what kind of damage has occurred. Hope everyone had a happy halloween! We took our daughter trick or treating last night and it was so cute! I will have to post some pics.

Hey all, I was perusing the boards and found this thread, and I've been on phen for 4 months and had all those d*** up and downs with weight and emotions, and eating/not eating...anyways. Alykat, read your post about this weekend and I totally get you. The alcohol was flowing on Saturday night, and after being in the hospital all week with the bf, it was time to let loose.
An odd perk is I haven't been eating the candy like before--place some in front of me and I will go to town on some nerds/laffy taffy, but I haven't been feeling it, and we have a ton of candy left over from the trick-or-treaters. Hope this is a good start to the rest of the week after this weekend.

Well, I completely binged this weekend on Halloween candy! I decided that this was my weekend to do it, and that today I would start fresh again. I am embarrassed to say that I am up 11 lbs from my lowest weight that I achieved on Phen. I have been off of it for 6 months now. I did really good until the last month or so. I feel like I lost my drive, but the determination is back now. I'm done letting food do this to me...it's not worth it!
I'm going to start back today on the Phen that I have left over. I doubt my insurance will cover it if I try to get another refill, so I might need to talk to my doc about getting a script and just filling it without insurance. I'm just having a really hard time with my appetite lately.
Ok, enough of my buzzkill.
Hope everyone has a productive week! :)

Good morning. Well, this weekend would have been a hard one to pass up alcohol wise. I don't drink anymore, so thank goodness I don't have to deal with that. I did have to deal with the candy though... We have lots and lots of it. I overindulged in the snickers dept. And I noticed the snickers didn't even really taste as good as it used to. I don't know if that is because I quit smoking (I have noticed that things do taste different) or if it's that I haven't had as much sugar in the last couple of months. But what sux is that it didn't stop me from eating it. I probably had 6 mini snickers and in the middle of the night, I got up and ate two reeses and a cup of fat free milk. Unfortunately, the reeses taste even more fabulous. :(
The scales are up two lbs from yesterday. I hope its water. I really do horrible on water consumption on the weekend. This weekend was especially bad. I didn't drink hardly any. Friday nite, me and the kids went trick or treating in OU territory because of the game on Halloween. After that, we went to McDonalds for supper I ate chicken nugets and fruit), Sat night, I had some meatloaf at the inlaws, Sunday I ate a very decent breakfast and I estimated that meal at 1000 cals. I don't think it was that much, but I always like to round up. I had a breakfast taquito that was smothered in a really good chili. I only ate half of it along with tomatoes and cottage cheese. Then of course eating all of that chocolate.. I still think I burned more calories than I ate, but I think I probably ate more than I usually do. Hopefully I didn't go over 2000 cals on Sunday. I estimated it at 1880.
So, it's back on track today and I feel pretty good about it. I am not going to stress too bad over the weekend, I still think I did pretty good compared to how I used to be.
But the good thing is, I ran on Sat and Sun.
Here's to a week of recuperating and making good choices!

Hey girls it may have been a rough weekend for all of us but we just have to pick ourselves up and get back on track. I suggest getting anything that is a weakness out of your house! Thats this weeks challenge, find something in your house that you bought to eat that you dont need, then give it to someone who may need it, a food drive or something, not only will it feel good that you didnt eat it, but you will have given something to someone else. The people I work with gather up stuff to make packages for the troops a few times a year, I think since the holidays are coming up were going to be doing this again soon. As of right now I don't have too much food in my house (I need to go grocery shopping) but I think I'm going to get rid of a few bad canned foods I no longer need. I have ravioli ( so high in calories and carbs yikes!), some high calories snacks I dont need, sugary cereal from germany I eat on occasion but they are like 400 calories per serving! You dont have to give away much, maybe you can give some halloween candy to someone who could use it, maybe make a care package for the troops.
Justarandomgirl- I go to photobucket and upload pics, then I size them down to medium, and post the IMG code into my signature page.

I packed up all the Halloween candy last night at about 11:30 (after I ate a brownie), and my husband took it to work today.
I had no intentions on giving the candy to our kids, they just enjoyed collecting it, so I don't even think they will realize that it is gone.
I just took my Phen about 30 minutes ago, I'm crossing my fingers that it will work the second time around.

I'm with everyone on the horrible holiday weekend. ate WAY too much pizza. pizza pizza pizza all weekend. lots of chips, and of course some candy. birthday cake, big breakfast, and lots of alcohol. I don't even wanna think about how many calories I drank. The scale said i'm up 3 lbs. EEK! oh well, like everybody else I'm starting over today. Ate a pretty decent lunch and hit the gym, and even did the dreaded pilates class that kicks my butt and embarrasses me! Oh, and for the challenge, last night my nina sent me home with another hamburger and hotdog from dinner and I gave them to my best friend. I love my family with all my heart, but they're like drug pushers sometimes! lol my nina always wants to make sure I take food home, always. It's so hard to say "No thank you nina, I don't want to take your delicious homemade green chile" Argh!

Ok the damage was not too terrible. I only gained 1 pound and I have been dealing with TOM. So yeah I am not too disappointed considering. Ok back on track now....home, back to routine....back to phen.....BACK TO BUSINESS.

Good morning ladies! I dared to step on the scale today and I weighed in at 185 today, I know it could have been lower but I had a late dinner last night and went to bed too soon after eating. I have been drinking my lemon water and eating good, I want to continue my lemon water but its been horrible on my acid reflux. I have been taking my nexium every other day instead of every day because my prescription costs me 50$ a month! I cant really afford it but theres no generic. I need to try something else, any ideas? I ran out today so I guess I dont have a choice at this point lol. Other than that I'm doing great and hope everyone is is doing well too.

Good Morning ladies!! Today is back to business for me also. I got sick kids at home so I took advantage of it and I got my workout in first thing this morning. It felt really good to work up a good sweat and then go take a shower! I really like exercise best in the morning but it never happens that way. If I wasnt so lazy and got out of bed earlier then I could do that every morning. I stayed away from the Halloween candy all day yesterday so I was very proud of myself!!
Have a great day everyone!!!

Jeez. I am up two lbs, almost three. What's up with that? The past two weekends I actually recorded a loss or stayed the same. Not after this weekend. I ate more candy, didn't drink much water at all, ate out for breakfast.... But I thought that I stayed within my calorie range, maybe being a little on the end though. It's depressing a little. Of course I won't give up, but still... I also did my running. I had thought about adding interval training, that is hard! I haven't decided if I am going to keep doing that because I did the interval training last week and I gained?? Not sure what to do.
Today will be an "off" day probably because I am going with one of our drivers here at work. So that means not much water, otherwise he will have to stop every 5 mins for me to pee and I probably won't get to run on my lunch hour.
I did eat two pieces of Halloween candy yesterday.. Some mini Heath bars.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Well, since starting my left over Phen again on Monday, I am happy to say that I am down 3lbs and that's even with TOM (I think). I'm excited, but also nervous about what will happen when I am truly out of Phen.
I left a message for my doc today, asking her if she's ever done a "maintenance" plan with Phen. With PCOS, I'm wondering if it is inevitable that the weight will creep back up on me if I am not on the Phen. I'm curious to see what she says.
Oh, and I totally forgot how much you pee on this stuff!! :o

Ok so this has been the WEEK from HELL for me... first TOM then the topamax & another new med that my dr put me on had this weird reaction & I became the mommy from hell. I was so mean to my little girl, i felt so horrible that I couldn't do anything. I finally convinced my Dr to put me back on phen. I had to promise that I would only take it every other day (probably due to my bp) & we cut back my topamax dose. I feel much better now. then I had to fight with my insurance co, the perscription co, AND the pharmacy, because they all screwed up with my daughters script for her med. she can't take generic, the ins said we met deduct, the script co said we didn't & that I would have to pay over $300!!!! for her med & the pharmacy ordered generic....really??? is this how my week has to end???
The up side, my husband has today off, we're suprizing our daughter (she still loves me :) ) ans we are having a very much needed family day without running errands.
sorry i needed to vent :(

Oh ladies...I didn't fall off of the face of the Earth but I came pretty close! Everyone here in my house has had lots of germs and felt the need to share them with each other and then with me. No H1N1 but we did have the old fashion flu with the little one, strep with another, and God knows what with the hubby. I had to break down and go to the Dr thurs after being sick for 3 weeks myself. I have a sinus infection, double ear infection, laryngitis, and bronchitis. I am starting to feel a little better thanks to the antibiotics but recovery is slow because I have been working both jobs through this mess. My weight has ballooned through my own fault and I'm afraid to step on the scale. I quit taking my other OTC stuff since I have been sick and I'm not like most folks who don't eat when they feel bad....I eat ALL this time! I'll let you know the damage:(
Luvin, Aly.....Kudos to you for stepping up the exercise WTG:D

Good morning ladies, I havent stepped on the scale yet, mondays are horrible days for me to weigh in lol. I figured I would give myself a day of being on track with my water, eating, and exercise before I took a peek. Eating was ok this weekend, I didnt slurge on anything, didnt go out to eat so thats a good thing. I did have a few snacks I didnt need and I didnt keep up my water like I should. Oh well I am back on track today! Hopefully the hubby starts setting up the stuff in our gym room today, I am getting tired of not getting anything accomplished on the weekends, but Ive been in that lazy mood lately..after all after a long week who wants to do more work? lol, I'm stepping up the exercise this week with my hubby, hes trying to get fit so he can try to get into the state troopers...and I'm going to try and do the exercises with him. We weigh in at the doctors on thursday, wonder what hes going to say about our stall of losses? guess well see huh?

Good morning everyone. I am up a lb from Friday's weigh in, but that is not surprising. That is usually the case with me. I am not upset about it... I spent the weekend with the man friend, so that meant eating out more. I don't think I did too bad, but as usual, I ate too many calories. I am still making better choices when I go out to eat though (I said better, but not great) :)
So I am doing the C25K runner challenge. I was up to running 8 mins/ walking 5... It was really kicking my rear. But on Saturday I actually ran 2.61 miles without stopping (35 mins)!!!! Yesterday I ran for 26 mins without stopping. I was really proud of myself. I am looking forward to today's run. I am actually only "supposed" to be running 20 mins without stopping this week (according to the challenge), but I figure if I can keep going then why not do it?
Today, it is back on track with the water intake and no eating out. I bought a bunch of chicken and I plan to make some "fried" chicken (using corn flakes, skim milk, and then baking) and also some chicken quesidillas (sp?) on some low cal and low carb pita bread.
I really need to reduce the number of cals that I eat in a day. Right now I eat anywhere from 1450 to sometimes 1800:( I was reading where I should only eat 1200 for my size. My doc says I should only eat 1000. It really seems hard, because by the end of the day I am at 1500 and the days I get to 1800, I have snuck in a peice or two of halloween candy.... The good thing is that the food I eat is healthy (well, except for the candy). And I am losing most weeks, it's just slower than what I would like. I just haven't disciplined myself enough to eat less than what I already am. That's frustrating.

JustARandomGirl, your doctor said you should eat 1,000? Wow, I would die haha. I just use thedailyplate.com and it says that I should eat 1,469 to lose 2 lbs a week, which sounds about reasonable. I've also read that you shouldn't eat less than 1,200. So I shoot for between 1,200 and 1,500 and i've been losing so far. Especially since it sounds like you exercise a lot, I think 1,000 sounds really low. When you journal what you eat on dailyplate you can also journal your exercise and it calculates how many calories you've burnt and adjusts your calorie intake for the day accordingly. It's working great for me so far.
Hello friends! I, too, had a kind of rough weekend eating wise. Whenever I'm around my family I tend to overeat. But I could NOT resist the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli cheese casserole we had for dinner saturday night. Not to mention the french bread and butter. Oh man, it was FANTASTIC. I love going home. However, I did well for breakfast and lunch that day so I think it all evened out.
I also have to tell you guys about my triumph :) Saturday night a bunch of friends and I went to the hookah bar and stood there for a few hours. Afterwards my friends wanted to stop on the way home at mcdonalds. So this was about midnight. Usually I would order something to eat as well, even though I wasn't hungry, just because everybody else was eating and smelled good. But nope! I told them I didn't want anything, and I was really proud of myself :) Anytime that I can refuse mcdonalds is a big triumph for me, silly as it sounds!
Anywho, my scale at home said 181.0 this morning (which is the lowest it's gotten) and the scale at the gym said 183 :) So my comfort food weekend didn't throw me off! I was stoked! Feeling great today :) Hit the gym already, and did very well for breakfast and lunch. Yay!

Sweet Erica on your accomplishment this weekend!! It is such a good feeling to resist the tempting food!
And I only run/walk anywhere from 25-35 mins nearly every day. With the exception to the last three days, I have ran that whole time. I will have to try the daily plate. I signed up for Spark People, but it seems to "clustered" and not very user friendly.

aly- I hear you! I have been the human yo-yo lately that's for sure! My body likes to hang in the upper 60's I think beause it will go back there in a snap and never wants to leave.
On a happy note I was down 1 lb today for 166. I think it was all the trips to the bathroom but whatever works right?;) I'm going to make it a point to exercise with the residents I see today (good strength training)
Everyone have a great day!!
Just- I would love to get back into running! I'm not really one of those smooth runners though....I think most can tell that it's not a natural thing for me unless I'm chasing the ice cream truck:D I'm too far out of shape to even start at this point I think

Good morning ladies!
I weighed in today at 162, so that is a loss of 4 lbs from last week. But I'm still up 7 lbs from my lowest weight achieved so far.
I've got a couple of weeks of my 30mg capsule left, but then my doc is switching me to the Phen 37.5 tab, to try to figure out a maintenance plan. I'll start taking a half a pill around 2pm, since late nights are my biggest weakness. That's when I do most of my housework, when everyone is asleep, and I tend to snack. I really don't have a problem during mornings.
JUST and HUNTR...
I would love to be a runner, but my ortho doc says that is a "no go" on these knees. :( But I did sprint after my son the other day as he ran away from me (his newest game), and you know how women complain about their boobs hurting because they bounce so bad....well, I had that problem with my @ss!! It was literally painful! How embarassing to feel like the junk in your trunk is about to break your legs!! Oh well, back to the elliptical for me.

LOL. I can relate. I was never a runner. Not even in high school. Someone on these forums recommended the Couch Potato to 5K runner challenge. It's 8 weeks worth of "challenges" that starts you off slow but then increases in length of time to run each week. I have done mine really slow. Week 1 has you running 60 sec/ walking 90 sec for 20 mins. I did each weeks challenge for two weeks because I am so out of shape. Now I am supposed to be up to running 20 mins without stopping and I felt like I could go longer so I did.
Next week, it has me running for X number of minutes and then walking again.
I do need to work on my speed. I run extremely slow. But I really love doing it and I never thought that I would be able too. I just hope that I keep this up after phen.

hello everyone, so today I go in to weigh with the doctor, I dont know whats going to happen since I doubt I will show a loss on his scale, it might even say im up a bit since I go there after eating during the day/drinking, after work. Oh well, I have been in a real funk lately so I think TOM is around the corner, I cant seem to get motivated to exercise, I guess im just exhausted and stressed, the dog keeps peeing in the house, drives me and the cat crazy, when my husband isnt watching him he eats all my shoes ahh! Then with the holidays coming around were trying to get our living room situated correctly, get rid of some stuff, so we can get a tree. Plus I cant afford a heck of a lot when it comes to presents this year, if I had the choice no one would get eachother anything and we would just enjoy time together. I dont need anything and whats the point of running around. I'll probably be making little crafts for everyone, cute homemade cocoa mixes, bread mixes, etc.I just cant afford to be spending money on everyone else, I have to save over 1500$ for around the summer when my braces should be coming off and I need a bridge. I was up a lb today but thats probably because I ran out of my diuretic blood pressure meds for a few days, by tomorrow I should be back to normal. Or it is just the fact that TOM is nearing. I also started taking my antidepressants again, I hadnt taken many when the doctor prescribed it, I was afraid it was going to make me stall in my weight loss, but I think I need it with my issues of seratonin difficiency, I was lazy and unmotivated all day yesterday, I was tired and overall felt pooped, I took half a pill around 5 and I was zooming, I was more energetic than I have been in a while. I think I will stick with it. Were getting a noreaster from the one hurricane so its raining like crazy and I dont think its going to let up any time soon. Its rained so much here in the month in a half, no wonder I have no motivation to exercise lol. I went to bed at 7 on monday, yes 7! Thats insane, I shouldnt sleep that much lol. I have to figure the exercise thing out and get that motivation back when I first started phen.

Just hang in there.. One day at a time. Yesterday I was disappointed with my workout. I walked more than I ran. For the past 4 days (besides yesterday), I have been running without stopping for 2.5 miles. Yesterday I just didn't. I got 4 min into running when I stopped and started walking. I wonder what that was all about? I was also really irritable too and I had a headache.
I hope I am not stalling either. The scales have said 190 since Sunday. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day and I am afraid I wont be recording a loss for the week. I have been dabbing in the Halloween candy, I am eating around 1500 to 1600 cals p/day. Sometimes more than that! I really wish I would cut it back. I need to plan my meals better.
This next week, I am going to focus more on veggies and look into more snacks packed with protein. I still have some fruit that I can't let go to waste though.
I am also still searching for the willingness to add more exercise. I haven't got there yet. I had mentioned adding some interval training by doing that three times p/week at my normal running time. Now I would like to try doing that 3 x's p/week on my bike when I get home from work. It would only take 20 mins or so.

OK, here is my official check-in. My name is Erin and I am from Tennessee. I have 3 beautiful children, 2 boys 9 and 7 and a new baby girl who is 6 months old! I love, love, love my boys, but my daughter is absolutely an answer to my prayers. My highest weight in January of 2000 was 243, after my son was born. that was following about a 70 pound weight gain. I lost back down to about 160(with the help of phen and working out) or so and a comfortable size 10. I gained about 30-40 with baby boy #2 and started working out again in June of 2002. This is when I started running. Now, I love to lift weights - would be a personal trainer and own a gym if I didn't help run my family business. However, I hate cardio - but learned to love running. In all honesty, I lost 50+ pounds in less than 5 months and was smaller than I was in high school. I was however taking an ephedra based supplement along with a thyroid stimulator. I will attribute ALOT of my weight loss to this. I swear if I could get those 2 supplements back I would stockpile them.
In August of 2006 I decided to compete in a local figure show. I had been regularly working out with a trainer for the last 4 years. My siggy picture is me about the week or so before the show. I was about 135-140 there and at about 15% body fat or less. NO ONE in my circle of friends liked that "look" or really that I never ate what they ate. Seriously, I took my own food everywhere I went. I was also not interested in sex and was really bit&*()^y. So, following the show, the weight came back up to a healthy 153 and stayed there for a long time. I felt GREAT! Could cheat if I wanted, and still wore a size 6 no problem.
Roll around to March of 2008 - I get really serious about wanting another baby. DH thought I was CRAZY, but I went off birth control and we started trying in June. Between March and July I gained 15 pounds - and all I can attribute it to was going off b/c and also not taking ephedra anymore. I got pg in August and delivered a beautiful baby girl in May of this year - all weighing in at a whopping 216! I nursed her til august and as soon as I stopped nursing I went on Phen. I started on August 12 weighing 192.6 and wearing a size 14 and I now weigh 166.2 and wear a size 8!
My goals are listed in my signature - i don't want to be figure competition small again, but I do want those legs back and I want to be back to my feel good weight of 153-155. I would like to be around 150 by New Years - we are going to see my brother in ND then and I haven't seen them since June! Plus gives a little wiggle room for all the parties!!!
I lift weights 3-4 times a day, but haven't gotten back into the cardio yet. I am running a 1/2 marathon in March with a girlfriend, so I have to get off my rear! I LOVE spin class and am committing to either run or spin 3 times a week between today and the end of the year! HELP ME PLEASE!
Do I qualify as a seasoned veteran? I am definitely a veteran of weight loss!

I say you qualify fitmom! Please tell me more about this thyroid stimulator! I sure hope that it's still around or at least something comperable. The first doc I went to that prescribed Phend said my blood work revealed that I had a normal but "sluggish" thyroid.
That explains why I am soooooo lazy and tired all of the time without some "assistance". I am trying to figure out what to do after phen. What is the best thing to do for a sluggish thyroid?

Just have to update today because I am super happy! I am back to 183 as of this morning (wearing pj's shorts and a tank top) So now my weight is back to my status weight! I didn't change it because I knew I had to get back down! Only 7 more pounds to my Wedding goal weight!!!! I have 18 more days to lose 7 more pounds....If I can do 3.5lbs. a week I can reach it! It's so much harder now! I have to really be careful of my diet and I am trying to do more cardio. I see that wedding dress in my closet and it motivates me to stay on top of it! I am slightly worried about Thanksgiving....but I think that if I am careful and eat in moderation and maybe take a fat and carb blocker that day it won't be too damaging! Anyway thats the update!

Vixen - i know you can do it! Just keep looking at that dress and how your new hubby is going to look at you later in it and out! Hee-Hee!
The thyroid stimulator I took before they don't make anymore. I take one now, although not as good, that is called T-3. I haven't gotten to where I use it regularly, so maybe that would help. It is made by Absolute Nutrition. They have other supps too - non-ephedra based, etc....I also really like one called Thyrotabs by Gaspari Nutrition. It worked great before I had my daughter. I think I am going to get some of that and see how it helps this time around.

Hows it going guys? I got to meet Dr. Rivas yesterday at my weigh in (usually I see one of his assistants because that man is sooo busy!) he is a very nice man who didnt make me feel bad about my small loss this month. (1/2 lb) I am thankful to have him as my doctor and finally being able to understand why I can do this without phen. He prescribed an antidepressant but I only took half a pill a couple of times in october, I kept forgetting about them, well I thought it might be a good idea to start them again since we have had so much rain, and I have been sleeping too much, not feeling motivated. Well I started taking them 2 days ago, and both nights I have not gotten much sleep! I wanna zoom around the house, my mistake was taking it so late because my dr.says it makes some tired, I guess I just have that much of a depletion of seratonin that my body wants me to be hyper on these pills lol. Cant you tell I'm hyper due to my rant? I havent felt like this in forever! Not to mention the fact that it seems like phen has been boosted. lol so yeah I'm back to 183, I am going to try not to drink this weekend, I want to get my weight lower. Water is what I'm going to be pushing, I dont tend to drink enough on the weekends. I am down around 10 or so lbs since starting phen again, I know it could be better but slow and steady wins this race. Hubby has lost almost 20, but he has more weight to lose.

Thanks fitmom! I am thinking I may need some help after phen.
Well, I am pretty tired today. I took 1 1/2 pill and surprised I feel so sluggish. But I am not hungry though. This morning, I have had two pears and a low cal pita packed with some protein.
I am going to work on eating less fruit and more veggies and protein. I haven't been counting carbs at all, just been watching cals. Sadly, I don't get to report a loss this week. I have been doing my running, actually got up to running over 2miles without stopping. I am just eating too many calories. Hopefully this isn't a plateau. I think it is time for another round of mag citrate as I haven't been all that "regular".
Or it could be TOM, it is almost that time. Who knows. Regardless I'm not giving up, I just wish I was losing faster. It would be cool to report a 3lb loss for a week every so often.
I hope everyone has a great and productive weekend!

You are welcome! You can probably take them together...my clinic said I could - now the thyrotabs I haven't tried with phen yet...that could be a little strong. May start with 1/2 a tab.
Aly - I am SO WITH YOU on the not drinking. I know I don't take in as much water on the weekends and then drink a little wine or whatever to go with it. I am sure that is hindering my loss. My new challenge on top of the cardio is to not have any alcohol except for 1 night per week. I really like to have my glass of wine when I get home from work...but my glass isn't your normal 4oz pour! I would bet I have about 12 - 14 ounces a few nights a week...thats a lot of calories!

Hello Everyone!
I haven't checked in for a while so I figured I should update everyone. I know what you all mean about feeling sluggish lately. I haven't been feeling very energetic at all.
My weight loss has been slow until this week. Last week I only lost 0.9lb, and the week before I lost 0.7. This week I did much better and lost 4.2! I was very excited. I changed a few things and since I'm having such good results I think I'll stick with it. I start my weeks on Saturdays so I'll tell you what I did from there. My calorie intake has been around 1100 everyday. Saturday I walked 8.5 miles (3hours). This walk was great and not at all flat. The entire walk was up and down hills and very rarely level. I also did 150 situps 30 leg lifts for each leg and my regular weight lifting. The next two days I could barely walk lol. I had been exercising 4-6 days a week for an hour or more at a time without problems so I was stunned that the walk had me in so much pain. Not to mention my hubby and son who NEVER exercise walked with me and niether of them were in pain!! On Sunday I did not do any weights or cardio. I only did 200 situps. Then on Tuesday I did 90 minutes on the eliptical. So total cardio for the week is 270 minutes. I had not been giving myself more than 2 days off a week before so I think that was a mistake and I also think walking works my muscles much better then the elliptical does. I was really impressed cause I always thought the elliptical worked more muscles.
I've also been drinking at least 105 ozs of water a day or more!
I read on the biggest loser website today that you should eat 7X your weight in calories a day to see a loss. I always thought that when exercising you should eat more but this week as I said above I ate about 1100 calories and had an amazing weight loss. I really only exercised 2 days though unless you count the situps on Sunday.
I guess that's all for today about me.
I am wondering about the 30 day shred you all have been talking about as well as the running challenge. I'd like to try them both. Are they video's or what???:D
Thanks in Advance!!

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone had a good weekend. My weekend was pretty busy, I did make some bad choices but overall I made better choices this weekend than others. I cleaned my whole house on saturday and drank lots of water. I have been doing christmas crafts and I havent been eating them lol! I made chocolate genache and chocolate dipped spoons for my gift baskets, I also made hot cocoa mix and graham cracker cookie mix jars. I made a great dinner saturday night, we didnt go out to eat at all this weekend and I was very proud of that. I made butter glazed cornish hens in the oven, broccoli, and mashed potatoes with alfredo sauce, it was delicious! We had leftovers yesterday. I didnt weigh today because I havent been to the bathroom in 3 days, and with all that food I was afraid of what the scale might say, but luckily all that is done and over with I will be weighing in tomorrow :). I had a slugish morning but I have taken my phen and hopefully I will have enough energy to exercise tonight, I beat my husband by doing 20 sit ups yesterday, he did 4 before he got a cramp. lol, made me feel tough. Oh yeah my doctor gave me a different manufacturer of phen now, I usually had the k26 brand, now I got my old 50/30 brand by qualitest back woohoo, I know this one works better since its the one I had since the beginning of my journey, I hope I show more of a loss this week, if anything it can be a mind game for all I care, as long as that weight goes down!

Hey ladies! I have no idea what my weight is since hubby threw out the scales when he cleaned on Friday. I am made a comment about them not working right and the next thing I knew HE THREW THEM OUT!!! That's not exactly what I meant ya know?! So if I can ever get an opportunity to buy a good one I'll let you know what it says. I have been giving alot of thought about going back to the clinic. I hate to spend that kind of money but somethings got to give. I just bought all of those wonderful size 8 pants and now I can't wear them. I guess I could but I feel like I can't breathe. I'm beyond mad at myself and with the holidays coming I'm worried about gaining even more. Sorry to be a downer this morning. On a side note. The family and I went to Gatlinburg this weekend (first time any of them had been) and we had a ball. Walked everywhere and I rode a ton of things with my kids. It was a great feeling to be able to fit into all of them with my daughter (at least one small victory huh?:) )
I hope everyone has a good loss this morning!

Hello everyone, where are you guys? Well I didnt weigh in today, I had a late dinner last night so I figured the scale wasnt going to like me today. I am drinking my water and eating right. This brand of phen gives me crazy dry mouth compared to the other pill so thats a good thing, hopefully I will get better results as well. Hope everyone is doing good!

Hey all,
I'm back at 162 today, a 2lb gain from last week. Oddly enough, I've been doing more exercising...why does that always happen?? Definitely doesn't help with the motivation!
I actually got up at 5:15 am yesterday (me and MSMIL made a pact) and did my elliptical and crunches. I'm definitely not a fan of the early morning, but I'm gonna give it a couple more days to see if it grows on me. Not up this morning though, my son was screaming throughout the night (gotta love the teething!!), so I was up with him. My alarm did not get a good response when it went off this morning .
I'm anxious to get my new Phen script (37.5 tab instead of the 30mg capsule), to see if there's any difference. It just seems like my body likes 162.
HUNTR...I can't say that I'm upset that you can't fit into your 8's!!!;)
I just bought two pairs of size 10 jeans, and I was excited about that. Finally went down a size after losing 30 lbs. It's about time!! I don't know that my @ss will ever see a single digit size again!!

I'm here. Just been busy. I've been laying low. Been reading, but laying low. So I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I plan to limit my calories this week (last night I didn't do so well, but did better), do some interval training on my bike three times this week (in addition to my running). It's not much, but just some small goals to work into my schedule. I need to keep myself busy this week.
I go to Missouri next week for Thanksgiving. I am nervous. I need to really prepare myself mentally. I think it would be a good idea to journal my goals, take them with me and read them to myself everyday just to see if I was successful.
Keep up the good work guys!

Good morning everyone uggh Im not in the happiest of moods, I weighed in at 186 today, grr, I did have a good and late dinner last night so Im hoping that and the combination of TOM being here any day now is the culprit. I just cant seem to get unstuck, my body loves the 180's, even when I lost weight after high school I was estatic to see 184. I just need to get more exercise in and work my butt off more. Maybe I need to cut the carbs again, ugghh I hate the beggining of the cutting carbs process, it makes me so sugar crazy with withdrawals. I know I need to do it though, I know its best off for me, the only way I will lose more wieght. I cant keep spending 160$ a month on a weight loss clinic not to lose any weight. Im wondering if the celexa could be the cause of my stalling, but i see that for most people it helps them lose weight..oh who knows..im just going to kick my butt!

I am late with the weigh in...but I am holding steady at 183....grrr! I would be ecstatic to see 179.9 I swear the 180's are my stigma. but hey it's better than where I started.

November 20th, 2009, 11:22 AM
*sigh* The weigh in didn't go so well. Seems I am stuck at 190-189. I am not sure that it is a plateau because I really really need to lower my calories and I think that would help a lot. I didn't meet my small goals that I had set for myself this week. I said I wanted to lower my calories and add interval training three nights p/week in addition to my running. I only did the interval training on monday.
With next week being Thanksgiving and me being out of town, my goals are to eat small portions on Thanksgiving and during the week. I have no idea what food will be available, I am sure we will go grocery shopping so I will make it a point to throw in some healthy stuff. My dad will probably balk at that idea... I also pray for nice weather so that me and the kiddos can do lots of active stuff outside.
Anywho, I may not be on much at all for the next week. If I don't drop in soon, then I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. May we all take a minute to look at the wonderful blessings around us and pay special attention to the things that really matter. May we all stick to our goals the best that we can so that we can be proud of ourselves. May we all be safe and comfortable and enjoy this coming week. God Bless.

COngrats! My eyes went POP when I read that! What are the ages of your other kids?
I had a very BAD weekend. I went out of town for my first weekend away since Samantha was born in May - boy did I have a GOOOOOOOD time! LOL...anyway, needless to say I am retaining the amt of water in Niagra Falls. I sure hope it is gone by weighin on Wednesday. I was at 165 when I left, and I was back up to 168 this morning...OUCH! Must have been all that wine and vodka on Thursday and Friday! Back to the grind.
I am taking a 2-3 week break from phen to give my body a rest. I am taking a non-ephedra based supplement that is wicked strong...It is how I got from 167 to 165 last week before I went out of town. I think I may stay on it thru next week and then start the phen back around December 5th or so.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Congrats AlyKat! Happy for you and your husband!
Been a long week. Have been out of town and haven't been at the gym as much as I usually am but have been using the Wii and walking the dog while being away from the gym. I was up a little bit (wine and pizza!) I noticed after returning home but I upped my water and am right back down.
I work today and am off tomorrow and Thurs for the holiday and back to working for the weekend. We're heading down to the beach to spend time with my family and will be back early Friday morning so I can go back to work. Hope you guys have a good holiday!

Aly - I have 3 kiddos, but by no means am an expert! But what a wonderful Thanksgiving blessing! I will pray for you and that you stay healthy! Just get rest when you can 'cause trust me, you won't get much later :) Also, just eat healthy...you only need btwn 350 and 400 extra calories a day to support the baby. DON'T do what I did and eat for an army and weigh in at about 250 when you deliver! It took me 18 months to get that weight back off!
I am close to normal now after my binge weekend of fun and drinking...I think I have ALMOST caught up on sleep, but not totally! By tomorrow, I think I will be back to normal...note to self...if it takes you 4+ days to recover from partying, you are TO OLD to do it anymore!
Have a great day everyone!

Have you been to the doctor yet?

November 24th, 2009, 03:55 PM
No I havent luvin, my first appt is Dec 4th, for now were taking it day by day. I'm taking prenatal pills from last time, and just taking care of me. I know im high risk now. I just wish my doctors last time would have figured out I had a short cervix before I misscarried not during the D&C exam. This time I am going to a different practice, better known, and highly reviewed. I know why I miscarried last time, my husband and I had sex around 4-5 weeks, and after i saw a mucous like discarge mixed with pink and red, based on what I read, women with a short cervix shouldnt have sex during thier pregnancy and that they are high risk for miscarriage. No sex for me for another 9-10+ months lol.
luvinmybabies
November 24th, 2009, 04:02 PM
I wouldn't go as far as to say no sex just yet. Your short cervix didn't cause your miscarriage...if it did, you would've "passed" the pregnancy, and not needed a D&C. It's good to note that they noticed a short cervix...that way they can keep an eye on you for this pregnancy...but I PROMISE you, your cervix had nothing to do with the miscarriage, and having sex didn't cause it either.
So, just try to act normal...positive thoughts and lots of prayer, and just hold out for your appointment.
I had cervical issues with my first pregnancy, leading to 10 weeks of complete bedrest. If you have any questions that you don't want "out there" for everyone to see, feel free to PM me. I'm no doctor, but I've worked in this field for 8 years or so and have scanned a lot of pregnant women, dealt with many miscarriages, and I know what to look for in a cervix. ;)

Well thank you for all the information! I appreciate all your help, i'm open to all the advice I can get. Of course you know how scary it must be and not having answers stinks. Like I said were taking it day by day, hoping for the best and not expecting anything no matter how hard we might want to get our hopes up. I'm also not telling anyone in the family, friend circle until after 12 weeks, I'm not setting myself up like that again.

So where is everyone else? Hopefully your scales are being nice and everyone has set up plans for what they are going to eat/stay away from tomorrow. Of course I am going to use the pregnancy as an excuse to eat the things I want lol. I am going to try and not eat a lb of everything but eat in moderation, well I sort of have to, I have 3 dinners to go to and you know I will get yelled at all 3 of them if I dont eat something. I will just fill my plate and nibble to make them happy, but the rest is going in the trash i swear!

How was everyone's Thanksgivings? Mine was good, we had a big breakfast my mom made (I ate a small amount of everything, which was good) and then had Thanksgiving dinner that night with all the delicious stuff, but again, only had a small amount of everything. Drank plenty of water with my wine ;) and had a loss of 2 lbs which surprised me. I'll take it though! Been working since the day after Thanksgiving, which has involved a lot of running around and lots of water but no overeating which is good. I'm ready to decorate my house for Christmas! Don't want to Griswold the house or anything, but I definitely like to bring the Christmas feeling out :)
How about you guys? Anyone brave Black Friday and shop?

I'm still here! I have been reading and not doinf a lot of posting lately. I did good over Thanksgiving. I gained a little from Thursday to Friday but lost it all again by Saturday so I'm very happy. Not to mention I was at a loss of almost 2 pounds for the week in all.
This weekend is horrible for me. I'm suprised I'm not gaining tons of weight due to all the stress I'm under. "See my post on Too Much Stress..needed to vent"

Just a quick check in: I gained a lb from Thanksgiving. I am not too upset by it. I got back from MO on Friday. I am disappointed that I didn't get right back on track Saturday. I snacked too much and didn't run.
Today, it's back on track. I got my meals planned, I am looking forward to my run today, etc etc. I hope that the "break" will boost some weight loss because it seems I had been stuck the last few weeks.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Fitmom: The supplement you are taking, is it the T-3 or the Thyrotabs that you were talking about??
I think I may need a break from phen too. I am up to taking two per day and still find myself grazing too much in the evening time. I also would like to find a good supplement to use after phen.

Hello everyone, I am doing well. I sleep most of the week/weekend away..and when im not sleeping im eating to keep the morning/afternoon/night sickness away. Too bad I chose the wrong food and make pregnancy an excuse to eat what I want. I'm sure I will regulate out once I one of each craving and get sick of junk food, thats what happened last time, sad it takes me gaining 10 or so lbs before leveling off though. Oh well, the tummy is bigger, the waist is narrower, my thighs are bigger, and my jeans dont want to fit right but im not upset, im not happy, but its for a good cause after all :). My thanksgiving went well, except the part where I slipped down some stairs and had three bruises on my back, its funny now because it was like butt racing my hubby down stairs. my large butt is good for something woot! My first prenatal visit is Friday, wish me luck! I'll be on tomorrow to check everyones weigh in, i havent gone newhere and im still challenging everyone like a hawk :P.

It was the Thyrotabs. I haven't gotten any yet, but I went back on Phen on Thanksgiving Day and I think I will add that in this week. I am down to 164.2 as of Monday and Tuesday morning, so I actually lost weight over Turkey Day! WOW! A guy here at work gained 7 pounds!!!!
Work is crazy right now and home life is great, but so busy. We had the baby baptized on Sunday and that was wonderful! She was so sweet and beautiful!!

Hey Everyone!
My weight is not going up, that's a good thing. However this week has not been good for me. I haven't been eating bad, but I also have not been exercising good either. I just barely made my 3 day promise! I usaully work our about 5 dys a week and many times for an hour or more. This week I only did three days 30 minutes each! I dd lose, 1.1lbs and I know that is good especially after all this time, but I also know that I may have gained inches cause I wasn't gaining muscle with the loss.
know I sound ridiculous right now but I figured many of you would still understand. I have felt very tired lately. I have to forc myself to get off the couch. I don't feel like I ant to do anything ever! I'm alsohalf way through month 3 on Phen this time around andI'm starting to feel my blood pressure go up multiple times a day. don't know if it's really from the phe or all the pressure I'm under right now.
I'm in school full time and it's finals, and as many of you probably already know I was studying for the GRE and applying to graduate school. I'm so exhusted, and stressed so that may be a big factor in the blood pressure issue. Th only thing is I felt this at the end of th last 3 month cylce too. Granted it also during a finals week too. However I have not felt this ay during a finals wek while not on Phen andthere have been many of those.
I'm looking for any advice and support here. Anything will help. Thanks for listening.

Hello everyone, I had my first prenatal visit friday, it was great, I got to see my "little peanut" on the sonogram. I was also put on a pregesterone pill so now I have double the morning sickness oh joy, but of course that doesnt stop me from shoving my face. I'm really trying to stop the bingeing. Hopefully I can get some food ideas soon and get my energy back so I can make healthy dinners again, 10 lbs a month is not good, that means i would gain 80 when giving birth..yikes..no way, i need some self control, someone slap me! granted my boobs are the weight of a brick each< they dont weigh 5 lbs a piece lol.

I'm still around, I think for most of us the Holiday season is wearing us out, plus I know some friends who are finishing up semesters in college, so thats probably why no one is on. For me I dont have much to add, I am 8 weeks as of last friday, I have my 9 week check up this friday. The morning sickness comes and goes but I have learned that as long as I am eating every hour and keeping my tummy full I am just fine. Other than that my size 16 jeans no longer fit and my 38D size bras are strangling me..time for new clothes! I could use a belly band now lol. My dog has urinary issues, and we took xrays and come to find out he has stones, so he needs surgery, thats going to cost me around 1000$ if not more. All this likes to happen around xmas, were praying that my husband can find a new job since his pay was cut back in september and now ive depleted my savings and going broke myself. Luckily we have pet insurance for our animals and we will at least get some of that money back. I'm looking forward to the end of the holidays and getting some normalcy back into my life! I hope this pregnancy goes fast, I dunno if Im going to be one of those women who enjoys pregnancy, and if peeing 2 times a night is bad now, I dont want to know what its gonna be like the next 7-8 months! lol hows everyone else?

Ah the joys of the 1st trimester! How I remember those days and nights. I feel for you girl, I really do. The only thing I didn't have was morning sickness with any of mine, and I know how lucky I was. My sis in law had it more severe with each one of her 3!
Since you do have to eat about every hour, make sure it is healthy items...you would only need about 150 cal each time to get the satisfaction your tummy is needing. If early a.m. is worse, keep some crackers or pretzels by your bed and eat a few before your feet ever hit the floor. Maybe an unopened can of sprite too. If you start out so depleted and empty first thing, that makes the rest of the day worse.
It will go by faster than you think...until about the last 6 weeks, then it will feel as if you have been pregnant for 9 years instead of 9 months...and you will be there in the middle of summer - oh, I feel for you! BUT....it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it all!
As for the challenge and diet...I am hanging in and doing really well. I am down to 161.6 and inbetween a size 6 and 8. I have 8's that are getting loose, but 6's that aren't quite public worthy yet! If I could get in my cardio, I would get about 5-10 off in a few weeks, but I just can't get up at 5:30 and run right now...need to though since I am running a 1/2 marathon in March...LOL! everyone is really noticing the loss now, even hubby who never says anything, and that is motivating to keep up the hard work...I can see the light, really I can, but sometimes I want a break from thinking about it all the time...
I hope you all have a wonderful day...I will check back in at the end of the week with a new report...hopefully from the 150's!

I'm here... I have been sick the last few days. I haven't ran since Friday. I am sooo ready to hit the track but can't until at least tomorrow, depending on how I feel. I am up 3 lbs from friday. I didn't drink hardly any water and my diet was awful. Back on track today with the food (i hope) I am trying to lay off the phen because I want to get the boost that I had when I first took it. Plus, I don't have the money to go back this month with the holidays... I really need to find my inner strength to continue the good things I have been doing. I haven't been all that great, but at least better. I am going to try not to take it until Christmas (with the exception of this Sunday, a Christmas dinner at grandpas)
I have also been put on Celexa and Clorezapate because my anxiety has been getting the best of me.
Sorry for the rambling, just a quick check in. I need to get back to work because I missed yesterday. I wish everyone the best and I hope I can check in soon. I have been thinking about you guys!! Aly, take it easy and relax. I hope all is well with your lil peanut!

Thanks for all the advice! I really need to control myself, its just hard when in my mind I can eat the things I couldnt when i was losing weight, I seem hungry all the time, especially in the morning, but once I eat lunch I'm full all day. I need to up the water intake and cut out the soda and crap. I drink ginger ale and sprite to calm the nausea. I crave pickles and vinger foods like saurkraut, I also want lots of sweets..I was bad and bought toaster strudles, poptarts, and doughnuts for breakfast on the go. But I did buy more fruits and veggies as well, just trying to get my body to crave the good stuff ;P.

I did exactly what you are doing with my first pregnancy. I started out overweight - but it wasn't really obvious. I wore a size 12, but weighed about 175. Then I gained 10 pounds a month for the first 4 months...I tipped the scales at 243 when I delivered. If you want it, eat it, but in moderation and only once or twice a week. The salty foods you want is what your body needs to calm the nausea also. Uping the water is tough, cause that can make you nauseus also. Try diet sprite and diet ginger ale. The caramel coloring in coke products made me ill while I was PG.
It was tough to get the weight off afterwards, and I will say from lots of experience, that I never knew how bad I felt while pregnant the first time until I only gained about 30pounds with the last two.
Keep up the good work and positive thoughts...when you feel better and can get out and walk a little or something, that will help too!

Aly! Congrats! I have been away, and came back to this exciting news! Oh yeah and from my experience, I gained like 10-15 pounds with my daughter in the first month, but then the cravings slowed WAY down! and the morning sickness took it's toll....EAT WHILE YOU CAN! I ended up only showing a 10 pound gain at 9 months, after I delivered I weighed less than before I found out I was pregnant. Just eat what your body is telling you to eat. I ate really slow and that helped a lot.

I didn't do well this past week. I gained a lb. I think TOM is coming. I was sick over the weekend, and haven't taken my phen much this week. I am really trying to take a break from it. I will probably take it on sunday and then not again until the next Christmas dinner.
Happy Holidays everyone!! Please be safe.

Hi my name is Melody, I started phen last Feb. I lost about thirty in 6 months. Since Aug. I have gaining gradually. On Monday Dec 14th, I had a tummy tuck and a small breast reduction. I thought it would be great to get back into a challenge. At this time I can only watch what I eat. I have been in bed since Monday. Doc said I cant do any exercise for six weeks. Maybe small walks in three weeks.

My goal this week is to start eating right.

Hey everyone, I'm doing good, looks like maybe, just maybe the morning sickness and energy depletion is going away, but then again it could be a fluke as well. I am now 9 weeks and had my second appt friday, all is well and the baby is happy and healthy thus far. I had blood work done so hopefully all is well with that too. Our little bean is doing well. I was really upset because I have gained 18 lbs, I now weigh 202, but I also had to eat a lot to not get sick, I hope this morning sickness dying down is really true because I really want to start eating less and start exercising again!

Hi Aly and everyone else!
Aly~ just enjoy being preggo, dont stress over the weight to much, You lost it once and you will do it again.
I'm ready to start again, today my goal first and foremost is to not eat choc!!! I have been addicted to eating sugar after a meal and that has got to stop today! I am going to try to get on the treadmill today but not sure how that will go, I have a sick one who is wanting held, so my main focus for today is just stop the sugar after meals.
I hope everyone had a happy holiday season and is now ready to focus on finishing what you started!

hey guys, it feels like forever since I came on here, we cant get on internet anymore at work, and thats where I did much of my browsing. Im doing well, except the whole weight thing, I stopped watching closely and its almost all back on again. I know my dr was right, I have food issues, I give myself excuses, and I will probably always be one of those people who needs phen to keep thier neurepinephrine levels in control. I am trying to enjoy pregnancy, im 14 weeks, and I really miss you guys (and all my smaller clothes :P) I am doing well otherwise, cant wait a few more weeks when hopefully we find out the sex. I hope everyone else is doing well! I'll check in as often as I can, I really hope you guys are sticking to things, I know as soon as I am able to I will be back on here, losing the weight and trying to gain support :)

Haha Im glad you think its a girl because I think its going to be a girl, they say that gender dreams usually come true and I dreamed of a girl, my chinese gender calculator also says girl, but of course hubby insists its a boy..I dont care I just want a healthy baby. I sort of hope for a boy because of the fact that most of my friends/hubby sisters have/are having a baby boy. I have already got a large bag of baby boy clothes and his sisters boy will be 6 months apart from mine and she said I could have everything after her baby is done with it.
