I have been on phen for two weeks and have not moved on the scale! I am 160 and 5-6. The first day I was buzzing around like a bee and had insomnia the first night. I had a loss of appetite for about 2 days and then I feel back to normal. I read all these great success stories and I am not sure why it is not working for me. Any suggestions?

I am also a newbie, and started in Aug 2009. Hopefully others will chime in and give you greater advice. You have to ask yourself, iam in eating like I used to, or am I following the diet the dr gave, am I drinking enough water. I made a point to remind myself not to learn how to eat like I used to before starting the diet, and make sure to stay away from potatoe, flour and sugar. This has worked for me, and I am down to 192 from 207 since starting Aug 4. it doesnt seem like alot to me but my Dr said since iam closer to my normal BMI than what I should be at for the weight I am at right now.it will be hard to lose :( so I was getting discouraged by reading here as a lot have lost 25- 30 pounds just in the first month. its what works for you, as everyone's body works differently. When you get a chance venture over to the August/ Sept thread in the My Experience with Phentermine, there's 32 something pages with lots of great advice. Good luck to you.

Jormiston,
I have been on it for 12 days. The first day I had lots of energy too and had insomnia for a few days, it completely took my appetite away and still does. Before, I was hungry all day long and didnt' eat very good. I lost 3.8lbs the first week, you didn't mention how your eating habits are though. I am on 15mg, I think that's the lowest. For breakfast I eat one egg, I pc. of raison bread toast and 1 Sorrento cheese stick, take the pill 1.5hrs later. If I do get a little hungry, I keep a bag of beef jerky and will eat a piece, I write everything in a book. Around 12ish I eat another cheese stick and 5 saltine crackers, I eat dinner before 630, usually a cheeseburger patty, a chick-fil grilled chicken salad or grilled chicked at home. I am shocked that I have been eating so good, I think it's because I'm on a prescription pill so I've very motivated and optimistic that it will work and I haven't exercised yet and I started at 155 and I'm at 149.6 in 12 days. That fact that you haven't lost any weight at all is kind of concerning, what dose are you on? It sounds like you might need a higher dose, walk a little and watch what your eating. I'm addicted to sweets, SkinnyCow has great icecream bars for 100 calories. I eat one of those after dinner.

Hi Jorm. The first mistake you're making is comparing yourself to others. No two bodies are the same. Some have thyroid issues, some have diabetic issues and some people just do some strange diets that they may not follow through with after they reach their goal weight. I talked to one girl who had a diet of raw milk and raw meat while on phen. She was losing 20 pounds a month. While those are awesome results, I could neve eat raw meat or drink raw milk that hasn't been processed. I rather eat my grilled chicken.

I agree with Jen about inquiring on your current eating habbits. While there are some folks who lost a bunch of weight in their first month, there are many more who haven't. I lost 11lbs my first month, that's far from 25-30.

What have you been doing so far other than taking the Phen?

Sometimes Phentermine doesn't work for everyone. I know you might not want to hear it but it's true. Just make sure you are working out and eating a healthy diet and it should work.

Tequila, Thanks so much for your feedback. I am eating a low calorie low fat diet. I have one problem, I take 3 types of prescription medicine that is known for weight gaining and so I am fighting that as well.

jenluvsbrad, thanks for your advice. I take some prescription drugs that cause weight gain and so I am fighting that battle as well. I work out pretty intensively. I had TOM this week so we will see what goes from there. I have a follow up in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again
