Hi,
Thanks for responding in advance. I want so much to start this program, Rec'd blood work etc and have the pills, the extended release. QUESTION..I am scared of the side effects....fast heart rate etc. Can i take some of the medication out/cut it in half and replace the capsule? I know it says not to do that...but i am not going to take the medication without the capsule. I can read directions:) Please help...really want to start it. I just want to cut the dose in half for a few days to taper on....

OR do you think I would be better off with the phendemine??

The side affects are really not that bad, while some have a lot of energy and increased heart rate..not everyone does. I had energy and dry mouth my first few days but nothing else. I'm not sure if you can open it up and remove some of the medicine.I guess my worry would be the capsule opening up again while in the esauphagus instead of the stomach like its supposed to..it opening up to early can make you really sick..much worse than any side affect you may experience..the side affects wear off so dont worry.

I think you will do fine with the whole capsule. The side effects are usually mild and only last for a week. The first few days you might feel very energized and have trouble sleeping. or you could be like I was. The first day I was on phen I was soooo sleepy and felt like I had taken a muscle relaxer. But day 2 came and the pill kicked in. I had the fast heart rate and energy. It will all settle down by the end of week 1. Best of luck to you

I started taking Phendametrizine...think I spelt it wrong,,,,on September 1st. I had a few side effects dry mouth and loads of energy. By day 3, the energy settled down to a managable level and the dry mouth is ok, since I am not a big fan of water. The side effects are not as bad as the effects that being overweight can cause....is how I look at. I go back to the doctor Oct 5 for a check-up and to weight in...I cant wait I can already tell a diffference in my body.

I have not had a lot of the side effects, the dry mouth makes me drink water all day that now that is normally all I drink. I have not had the racing heart feeling like other pills have given me so I thought I wasn't having extra energy but I do notice I can get a lot more done around the house. I did have problems sleeping but wake up feeling like I had slept all night. I go to bed later than I used to but I think I slept too much before and I am not tired in the morning or during my day at work so I think that is good.

I love Phen, it has really changed me. It might not be right for everyone, but I know it is right for me.
