August 10th, 2009, 08:19 AM
This challenge is for anyone who wants to recommit or continue their weight-loss journey with the help of others. It does not matter if you are currently taking phen or not. Feel free to join anytime. This challenge starts today, August 10 and last weigh-in will be September 18. A new weekly challenge will begin on Mondays and weigh-ins will be on Friday.

To begin this challenge post the following information:

1. A brief introduction about yourself;
2. starting weight and goal weight for Sept. 18;
3. personal individual goal for this time period. This goal can be anything and can be related to weight-loss but does not have to be.

I am looking forward to this recommittment, meeting new people and catching up with some old phrends too!:D

The first challenge will be simple. Accomplish at least 30 minutes of cardio 3 x this week. I have been off of my routine for a couple months and I must get back into it. So, I am starting from scratch. If this is too easy for you, make your own exercise goal this week. If this seems like too big a challenge, make your own exercise goal for this week.

Let's get started!

Hey Lz nice to still see you around, I may already have my own challenge but the more the merrier for me!

1. A brief introduction about yourself;

Hi my name is Alyssia, I have been on this journey since July 19 2008, I have had a few pit-stops on my journey to finding myself and being happy with my body. I just bought a house and got married in July. i am starting a new life and would like to get to my goals.

2. starting weight and goal weight for Sept. 18; My weight today is 190, its a bit high from having some alcohol this weekend and some junky foods, i expect that I lose this weight this week at work, my mantaining weight has been 185 for a few weeks now since I am no longer on phen. I would love to be in the 170's by September 18, so I set a goal of 175.

3. personal individual goal for this time period. This goal can be anything and can be related to weight-loss but does not have to be. My goal is to get back on track and lose this weight again, get to a happy weight and tone up. I dont want to lose my motivation because fall and winter are coming.

For the exercise goal this week I may not exercise per say - I am currently painting my new home and moving furniture in this week. I will also be cleaning and such. I know I will get my un-intentional exercise in since I dont have time to exercise after work..i prettymuch go straight to fixing up the new house. Once we are settled in I will have a work out room to do all my exercise in.

HI Alyssia! I am not on phen at this time either. I have to get this back slide stopped before I fall all the way down the mountain.lol

Congrats on getting married in July!

I completely understand, I have had so many backslides myself, some of course not being my fault. Its especially hard to stick to anything when I am moving and concentrating on the house. I am going to start taking better care of myself this week!

OK--here is about me.

1. My name is LeeAnn and I have been working on this weight since 3/28/6. I have really taken a vacation for the past 6 weeks and gained around 20 pounds. So I say if it came on that fast, most of it should go away that fast. (ha!) I am 44 y/o Mom to 19y/0 girl and 12 y/o boy. I live on a farm and stay busy managing the homestead and handling all of my Mom's personal affairs. Also, I have been staying busy on facebook--which I need to quit!
2. My starting weight is 165, but I am bloated, bloated and full of the fast food I have been eating. 150 seems unrealistic for my size, but I expect the first 1/2 to go within the first two weeks. After all, I gained it in the last two.
3. My personal goal is to "bite it , write it"...I know if I write it down it helps me control myself. Also, plan to succeed! If I don't plan, all of "it" does not happen. SO I am keeping my "to do" lists too.

OK, I need to get busy for now, will check in later.

Hello, my name is Rachel. I started Phen on 4/6/09 but have battled with my weight & 'dieting' since my early teen years. So far I've lost 55 lbs, I have 22 more lbs to go to be at my goal weight. I've always been overweight, this is the most amount of weight I've ever lost and I'm determined to get it off and keep it off. I'm 24 and I'm ready to feel comfortable in my skin!

My starting weight was 212 lbs, I'm currently at 157 lbs. By Sept 18th I'd like to be under 147 lbs.

My personal goal is to continue working on toning up my stomach, it's going to
take quite a while to get it where I want to be. I also need to start utilizing
my at home workout videos more.

LZ

Hi Rachel! You have been doing great. I am going to get my "FIRM" DVD's back out starting tomorrow.

OK, on track so far for today. Eating boiled sqyash at the moment.

Hey Gang!

Sorry I have not been around much this week. I have not felt well. I have managed one workout so I have three days to get in two more.

Weigh-in today 162--at least that is going the right way.

Happy to see Hat Lady & Angie!

I admit to stuggling without the phen. I feel like I need to lose the 20 pounds before going back to my Doc-lol.

Have a great day!

I'm down to 187, so slowly but surely the weight I gained last week is coming off..I know its probably easy now because of water weight. I am going to be working my butt off this weekend moving furniture and stuff so lets hope I dont gain anything again...its hard to lose when you cant concentrate on yourself. i cant wait to be out of my apartment already and settled in my house.

So I did horribly this weekend, oh well, I think im up like 3 or 4 lbs..I am in the process of moving everything and havent been able to make the best choices. But we prettymuch have everything moved and I will be able to make dinner more often now that I have my kitchen set up and most of my refridgerator and pantry at the new house. I have like 50 boxes in my dining room right now and all my exercise equipment is stashed behind stuff. Hopefully most boxes and such will be moved and unpacked this week and I can get comfortable!

LZ
August 18th, 2009, 09:42 PM
Promise I'll be better. I finally got some phen. I've been off for quite some time and will start in the morning. I did get some great exercise yesterday moving two truck loads of books for our library.

I have a weigh-in at TOPS tomorrow. Nowhere for the scale to go but down-lol!

LZ
August 19th, 2009, 11:47 AM
OK Gals. Day #1 for me again. 30 minutes in on the treadmill. I know if I start with some exercise first thing it helps me stay on track.

Off to my TOPS meeting soon. Have a great day!

August 19th, 2009, 12:07 PM
LZ, looking forward to hearing a good report after TOPS.
Yes, Angie, WE can do this!! I'm hanging on to your coatails.
Alyie, The stress of the move is tremendous. Ride it out, You will be OK.
I am chained to my desk today. I am planning to bike ride with my daughter this evening. I hope to swim tomorrow. Better day yesterday. I planned out my meals in the morning. I packed a lunch today for the office. I think I have some leftover grilled chicken in the fridge for tonight. ( If SIL hasn't found it )

Situation with divorced daughter is getting out of hand. My motherly instincts were not unfounded. This guy she is seeing is "BAD NEWS" I hope the Good Lord gives her a mind to see it. ( my source of stress eating) It is an all around bad situation.

Hey guys, I feel like crap today..idk if its the weather or what. I really want to be away from here for a few weeks but it looks like im not traveling for work anytime soon. oh well, I think I am going to make it a priority for my hubby to move my exercise equipment so I can use it. I'm getting really flabby!

LZ
August 20th, 2009, 03:21 AM
Alyssia, I hope you feel better soon. I am sure it will help when you get settled in.

I did very well today. I am so proud. I truly need to take one day at a time.

HL, I can imagine your stress over your daughter. It is so hard to be Mom to grown kids sometimes. Hopefully, she will move away from the "bad" one.

Hey Ang, how is your week going?

TOPS was OK, but am going by my scale so we'll see what Friday brings. Hopefully 160 or less.

One day at a time!!!

Still 162 today but since I really only started 100% on Wednesday, I'll take it. Also, TOM is here so I should show a good loss next week.

I joined another challenge on the main boards called if you are tuff enough. JBO, a phrend from long past started it. She had been on of the most if not the most motivating challenge leaders I have ever had. I highly recommend it if you are ready to be on a roll.

I just got done with a FIRM series workout. I am pumped!

OK, to the rest og my day. Have a good one!

Hey Ang,

I spent the last two months on FB I think. Have you been in Farm Town? I am a level 34-lol. I have slowed down on that but have been doing a game called Lexulous which is simliar to scrabble. At least it forces me to use my brain.

I know losing your brother is difficult. OMG that word is so insufficient.

I did very well yesterday. Dusted off my FIRM DVD's. I still can move today. I also did well with my eating.

:D Hello all!! Huge thanks to Hat Lady for letting me know about this challenge!! Great to see you LZ, definitely want to join this!! I have been away for a while, phen wasn't working for me, so I decided to seek another way to lose weight and started cutting carbs from my diet, and it has been working pretty good. So glad to be back, missed you guys and can always use good support from my phrends!!

To re-introduce myself, my name is Val, I'm a legal secretary working in Washington, DC, I am married to a wonderful guy for 31 years, and I have two grown daughters and one adorable grandson who turned 7 in July. My oldest daughter got married in Jamaica last June, and we found out one week before going that she is pregnant, so I've got another grandchild on the way!! I currently weigh 230; been on a roller coaster of up and down weight gaining and losing, and I'm tired of it!! But since I have started lowering my carb intake, I find this a plan that I can see doing for the long haul. I have lost 10 pounds so far, so I'm excited to be doing this journey with you guys!!

My plan is to work out more, about 4 times a week minimum. Currently weighing 230 pounds, I would like to lose about 15 pounds by the end of this challenge, making my weight 215, and I know that with hard work and everyone's support, I can do it. I'm just tired of being overweight ...

Gotta go; glad to see my old phrends again, and looking forward to meeting new ones, have a great day!! :D

My birthday was on Monday, so I am still celebrating. I have been on a strict high protein, lo- carb diet, but I needed a few drinks. So, today, I had a few diet rum and Cokes, but i ate actually what I should, maybe less probably about a total of 400 calories. I know this is not healthy, but I usually eat exactly what is on my diet and today I was not hungry. I am about to go out for a while, with friends and have a few more. I hope my eating makes up for what I drink tonight. I heard that you should not drink on Phen. Does anyone drink on Phen and have you had any bad side effects?

Brand New Me

I'll get in on this challenge..I'm relatively new to this site and phen.

I'm Kari and I'm 28, with a birthday coming up. Growing up I was always 125 lbs or less. I joined the military and got out of boot camp at 102 lbs but that was too skinny and I didn't look healthy. Slowly my weight crept back up until I was 140 lbs. Then I got pregnant with my daughter and gained 6lbs of which I was not able to lose. Six months after her birth I found myself pregnant with my son and gained 13 lbs. I lost most of it but then started eating bad foods and gained back to 155 lbs. Then me and their dad separated and I turned to food and found myself at 160 lbs. Then I lost some weight when I cut out the crap food and soda. Then I found myself pregnant with #3 by their dad on accident while separated. When I had her I was 180 lbs.. I managed to lose the baby weight and more and got down to 145 lbs. Then I started eating crap again because I was stressed and found myself back to 164 lbs. Then I got pregnant with a 4th baby and delivered him and was at a whopping 191 lbs. I got back down to 164lbs within 2 weeks of his birth...tons of exercise and dieting for 2 months only dropped me down 5 lbs so I quit going. Got on phen just over 2 weeks ago and you can see in my signature what my weight is now.

My starting weight I guess was ultimately 191 lbs but only 153.6 when I started phen which was just 2 days before this challenge started. I'd like to be 140lbs by sept 10..so I'll use that for the sept 18 goal. Thats really only 7.6 more lbs to lose.

My goal is just to move more. Not to avoid climbing the stairs in my house and to actually do it more often..purposely forgetting things up there, etc. Trying to eat little to no fast food or soda. I think that 1x a week for each is realistic as it still allows me that "treat" and not cutting out totally to where I'll crave it.

Hey everyone, im on night shift for this week so sorry if I havent checked in enough. I weighed in at 190 today so its a loss compared to 192 like last week. I has an overall better weekend, I ate pretty much low carb and made meals at home so I wouldnt eat crap elsewhere. I hope to be down a few more lbs this week, I need to get back on the exercise bandwagon, but for now im still cleaning, unpacking etc. I cant wait til its all done! At least I can make better foods now though. I had scrambled eggs with some onion, bacon, and cheese this morning yummo! Im having leftover green bean casserole, low carb fried chicken for lunch and I packed myself some protein shake, low carb yogurt, and eggs for snacks and dinner. Im hoping to be in ketosis this week!

Were getting more settled in every day, the big stuff is done thankfully, now its just little things. I'm trying my hardest not to stress eat, my worst way of dealing with things. If its not one thing its another right? Well I had a 3 week break from school and start my math class on Monday so there goes any of my attention span. I am also having money issues since I dont get financial aid because im so young and Im not a screw up >:I grrr. I have to figure that out, get new tires, and make sure I have enough bill money because its possible that this small move may cost me an extra 120$ a month in electricity! Thats insane, 250$ a month! Then we set up my coffee table yesterday and there is a HUUUGE scratch in it, someone was careless and scratched it during the move. Oh well this too shall pass, ill just take a deep breath and go to bed when I get home. over 100$ in a weight loss clinic is not going to be spent any time soon. Enough of my whining already, ill get over it..thats life.

Hey gang, another good day. I only walked 1/2 mile because it started raining, but I did a FIRM DVD later and I cleaned house hard for many hours-lol.

HL-but you did not gain--next week is your week.

CD, I hope your not suffering too much. Hubby has to have his cut out a week from tomorrow. A great way to spend a holiday weekend.

Hello everyone, so yeah I ate pretty bad this weekend and had too many alcoholic drinks. My parents had some good friends down from new york state and we had a blast. Now my scale says im up 8 lbs to 197 yikes! I hope that its just the lack of going to the bathroom and the beer making me retain lots of water. I am back on track and I will lose those gained lbs this week. I should be getting TOM any day now (I hope!) and I want to schedule an appt with the weight loss doctor sometime soon. The hubby and I both want to lose some weight.

Hello all! Checking in to see how everyone is doing - I made it through getting my wisdom tooth pulled, and am now suffering with a pretty bad cold (when will the madness stop??). Hope everyone is staying on plan and doing good with their food choices. I ordered a mini-pedaler online; even though I have a full-size stationary bike in the computer room, I can carry this little machine around and can pedal while I'm watching tv, and can also use it to work out my arms too. It was only $27, so once I get hubby to put it together, I'll see how that goes.

LZ: Hoping and praying that hubby does well with his tooth extraction this weekend!

Alykat: I hear you about weekends, they can be rough to stay on track -- but this is a new week to start anew, and you can do it too! About that scratch on your table, there is a polish from Old English that covers those kinds of marks, makes them hardly visable. They sell it in the stores by the furniture polishes, hope that helps! I see you are doing low-carb, same as me - let's get this show on the road and get into ketosis!!

Hat-Lady - pls. don't get discouraged; know that the walking you did was a good benefit for your body, heart, lungs, all that, so way to go, proud of you!

BrandNewMe: I am also doing a high protein, lo-carb diet as well, so way to go!!

Justkarib: Welcome to the challenge; we can do this, just a matter of sticking to our plan and going day by day - by the way, I like your goal of just moving more, something I need to do as well!

Here's to all of us drinking a lot of good nourishing water today; TTYL!! :D

The hubby and I went and looked at a dog yesterday (boston terrier) that we absolutely want to adopt, we figure that the dog will keep us in shape and motivated since we will have to walk him often. I hope so, I plan on mkaing an appt with the weight loss doctor soon, just so much going on at this point I havent really concentrated on myself..luckily Im going grocery shopping this weekend and we shall have food! That always makes cooking so much easier ;).

Hello everyone, checking in to see how the challenge is going --

Alykat06: Huge congrats on your weight loss!! I am loving this LC lifestyle, it really works! Haven't weighed myself yet, think I'll wait until the end of the week, but I've been sticking to my plan, and I feel "lighter" today, so we'll see!

Hat-Lady: Gurl, you know I've got my fingers crossed that DD sees the type of person that he is, and she will, trust me on that one ...

LZ: Hope things work out where your computer is at full function, I know the feeling, I've been there!

Hope everyone is doing well with their weight-loss plan and stays strong!! :)

I thought I was having a good week. I have been walking and pretty much sticking to my plan. I weighed at WW tonight. GAINED 2/10 of a pound. Thats about 4 ounces. Not much, but discouraging. Anyone got an idea to get me losing again?
I have only had 3 gains since January 5. ugh!!
Tomorrow I will not deviate from my plan, and I will walk 3 miles either on the tread mill or outside. I will journal every thing I eat.
Is this not an uphill battle? And I fear that there is no finish line.

On the up side.
I have lost nearly 40 lbs.
Recently I have seen some people I have not seen in quite sometime, and 4 of them looked at me very quizically and have said........ " Have you changed your hair? I have not seen you in a while , and you look different." ( or something like that, BUT all refered to my hair ) After the 3 one I just said , " Oh, I'm always changing my hair." And I wanted to laugh. I wonder if they were afraid to ask if I had lost weight.
Or if they really didn't know why I looked different to them. Maybe I should have said "No I have not changed my hair, I just have less face..."

I feel like crap today! I guess I have the hormone side of TOM but no tom as of yet! I wonder if I will even get it with all the stress I been under. So luckily I get my dog on Saturday..that will force my butt to get out of bed in the morning and my butt moving at night to take him for walks! I was down another lb today..2 lbs away from where I was at over a week ago..now if only I could get back to being 184 and with some muscles...those were the days, I feel so fat now that ive gained like 7 or so lbs since I have been off of phen..grr..so disapointed in myself for not sticking to things..and now I cant seem to find the motivation to do anything but go home and go to bed. I hope this dog motivates me more.

So hey guys..tom came this past weekend so I'm not looking at the scales anytime soon. I worked most of the weekend cleaning organizing and doing lawnwork..I finally got back on the exercise bandwagon and did 20 mins on my treadmill tonight..I hope to see a weight loss doctor soon..I left a message at the clinic but they are only open on certain days each week. I hope they call me soon! I really want to finish losing this weight!

Hello all! Checking in to see how everyone is doing; had a great Labor Day weekend, went to a really big cookout on Sunday, lots of people, and while my carb count wasn't on the low end, I did okay while there. Also went over my carb count on Monday, but am back doing very well yesterday and today!! Just really pushing the water, don't know why I'm having such trouble getting it down ... So tonight I plan to either go to Curves or do the 30 day shred DVD, need to pick up the pace on working out as well -- Have a great day everyone!! :D

hi guys i know i have been MIA ... my weight is up , and my attitude is down ... we have a house that we rent out and the renters decided that they were going 2 move out ! they left our house a mess ... a big big mess , it was so nasty , i was so grossed out just by walking in , so for the past few weeks we have been cleaning and , cleaning , and fixing all the broken things in this house .... i cried everyday , it was our first house my hubby and i bought it a month before we got married in 1994 .... so all the love i had put into this house that was our home for so so long was just so uuggghhhh , i can not even find the words ... now its clean and up for sale . i will never rent again ... the bad part is that we had rented to friends .... uugghhh ,,,now i just want to hurt them ... lol... well anyways .. i am trying 2 get back on track yet again ... i worked out lastnight annd went back and got my phen two weeks ago .... the scales said i was 192 ... my scales were saying 187 ... so i moved my scales 2 match the weightloss clinics .. but i have lost back down 2 187 again on my scales ... am i ever going 2 get 2 that finish line ... YES i have 2 ... THe BIggest Loser came on lastnight ,and that was great motivation for me ... that could have been me that passed out like that ... ugghhh so so scary .SO ok girls .. i am back ... much love ... So where is everyone? I am finally doing much better and started phen again tuesday. I weighed in at 195 last week after being in the hospital with IV fluids and today I weighed in at 191, so hopefully by the end of this week into next week I will see the 180's again. I always feel so much better in the 180's than in the 190's..amazing what a few pounds can do to ones self esteem. So im back on track, so far exercise has been minimal but the doc said to keep it light at first because he sees a lot of people who get really hungry when they first start phen because they are exercising too much..better to let the phen work first and get the eating right then the exercising comes a little bit later. Hows everyone else?

HI Alykat...not sure where everyone is. Hope you get into the 180s soon. I want to be in the 170s. I guess each 10 lb increment looks better. After being in the 170's the 160s will look even better. It's easier to think like that than thinking of the goal weight. Right now I'm concentrating on getting in the 170s.

oh yeah BB its much easier to lose motivation if we have to look at the picture..im back into the 180's today weighing 189 so I have lost 4 lbs since tuesday...and I'm sure its probably all water weight but heck thats just further away from the 200 mark again and going in the right direction. Now if I could only see past 183, thats the lowest number ive seen on my journey..my body seems to love that number and get so comfortable there! I just have to keep pushing though!
