Hi,
I have just recently started Phen. 6 days ago to be exact. Along with the phen I have been using a cleanse once a week called i********x. While taking ********xx you do not eat for one day and only drink water. I am hoping this cleanse will yeild quicker weight loss results while taking phen simultaneously. Has anyone ever taken i********x and do you feel that this cleanse is a good idea while taking Phen?

Honestly I have never done anything like that but I would think it would be fine. Just remember that in order to keep your weight off once you get back to your goal weight you will need to make a lifestyle change or it will all come back. I am not looking for a quick fix so if it takes me a little longer to lose this that is fine with me. I am changing everything about what I eat and exercise daily in hopes that once I am off phen I will know how to control what I eat and exercise regularly. To me phen is not a "magic" pill but an aid to help me change my life. Are you going to be able to keep doing the cleanse once a week when you are off of phen?
Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I have not been able to attribute any weight loss specifically to the cleanse. It is very expensive. 100 dollars for a months supply. I need to see how well I do on the phen and cleanse combination to determine if I continue. My doctor says he only wants to me to be on Phen for 2 months. I'm afraid that 2 months will not yeild the results I am looking for. How long have you been taking phen? How long do you suggest one should take it without any long lasting side effects or possible addiction?

$100 a month!! That is crazy, I could never afford that plus my DH would go through the roof :). Anyways I started Phen on 6-26, my dr gave me a 3 month prescription but I am taking it as an aid to lose my weight. It is helping me get back into control so when I do go off I will have already developed the proper eating habits and exercises.
I have read many posts on here about how long people are on phen. Some drs will only give them a month at a time, some 2 months, and some 3 months. I do believe that certain states have diff rules on how long you can be on it at a time. As far as the addiction I am not sure but I am not looking forward to Sept. when I go back to my drs. Not sure about MI law but at the moment it is like my security blanket and I dont want it taken away from me yet :).

I just came back from working out with my trainer today. (Such a fine young man;) But he is totally angry with me for taking Phen. He claims that I will lose all of my muscle mass due to the fact that my body will continually eat up muscle because it is not gettimg enough carbs. He says when I come off of Phen that my body will be so out of wack and I will be lethargic without enough energy to work out. Do you think there is any truth to this?

eating right and exercising works the best. Diets dont usually work because you prevent yourself from having things you want like cake and chocolate. Eating in moderation seems to work the best

Phen has nothing to do with losing muscle mass. Your muscles use carbs for energy not maintenance. Protein is used for muscle maintenance and Recuperation. Phen is nothing more than a meal suppressant. You will be fine coming off of it.

If anyone in your household is prone to anaphylaxis, the question of whether to keep allergens in the home is pretty clear-cut. The risks are just too high. For many families dealing with food allergies or sensitivities, though, the question of how to accomodate a special diet isn't so obvious.

I have to share my experience since this subject has come up.
Before I was on phen I was walking at least 5 days a week. I was overeating big time and trying to compensate it by walking 4 miles a day! While I was still gaining weight while I exercised I felt healthy!
So I go to the doctor and beg for phen cause it helped me in the past. I also was not severly overweight so I knew I would need to beg a little harder. My weight had me in a destructive funk and I had to do something! So the doctor gives me three months and I begin my journey to a healthier lifestyle.
Well, the first three weeks I took it; I was so tired and lethargic I couldn't bring myself to do my regular morning exercise. I just did not have the energy! So during this three weeks I ate healthier, drank my water and would walk the dogs like I normally do. Then during one of my many bouts with trying to sleep I sat on the side of my bed and literally felt my calf muscles getting weak. I know how this feels because I have been in a non-weight bearing cast with crutches more than once.
I don't know wether to attribute this to my lack of walking 4 miles a day 5 times a week or if I was truly experiencing extreme muscle loss! I have lost a lot of my calf muscles and I still do not have the energy I had pre-phen, but I am now working to build my endurance and strength with running and lifting weights. I definately feel slimmer, but I have lost a lot of muscle tone.
I 'm sure my lack of walking contributed some, but it was the strangest feeling to literally feel my muscles getting so weak that they hurt just to touch anything.

I have not tried any other diet in conjunction with phen but I think that you will be totally alright without any problems you might need to look after. But after reaching your goal, you have to put to mind that you have to maintain your intake or you will surely find your way back to your original weight, which as for all, will not look good. That means a big change on eating habit and lifestyle.

Hi Friends,

Interesting post Terry. It looks like you copied it word for word from Brownbomber's post above from 2009.
