Hello!!!
I am new to this board, and like all of us, I have tried everything under the sun to loose weight!!! I maxed out at 193 in May 06 and I started the Phen diet w/doctor on July 22nd weighing in at 191.5, that means Im on week 6 of Phen. Im taking 37.5 a day, & Ditex w/Chromium twice a day, weekly B12 shot, 1200 cal/day

My goal is to get down to 135-140...(i used to be 125 6 years ago but I think thats too far fetched!!)
I have been reading boards, and seeing positive and negative things in here.
The side effects you guys describe I've had my fair share of them!!! I have been breaking out HORRIBLY!!! since week one!! It just doesnt go away. I probably have tried the entire NEUTOGENA line, with little or no results! I have ordered proactiv to see if that helps! I also have had a lot of bladder problems, I feel like I have an UTI, but it goes away in the afternoons! I was almost in tears this morning it burnt so bad!! My mood swings are terrible, and headaches too!!!
Oh, well, I guess thats the price to pay for loosing weight this way.
I am also getting married next moth and don't wanna quit the pills cause Im afraid I wont loose more weight before the wedding. Im planning on stayin on it for the 12 week (oct 22), and no longer. But Im really scared of the side effects!! I dont know what Im going to do if my skin doest get better!!!

I would like to know if anyone has tried the "herbal replacements" for Phen... do they work? Is it even worth the $???
Also, lets say this works and my skin clears, how long is it safe to stay on it???

Im very confused and reading all the boards and sites isnt helping much!!!!!
Any advice?? please feel free to email me!!!!
I am very confused and scared!!

Hi connieren!!
Yes this problems started my firs weekof phen. I read on one of the boards about people having bladder problems also...oh well, who knows, ive been feeling better with that. It hasn't bothered me lately. My skin is just still really messed up. I never had problems with it before. I am patiently waiting for my Proactiv in the mail to see if that works! Off course Im sure with my wedding being 23 days away , the stress is not helping!!! I DO DRINK TONZ OF WATER!! I AM A WATER FREAK!!!!!
LOL!!!
I drink like 3 liter bottles a day and NO soda, maybe 1/2 a diet coke for the sweetness of it.
I am also working out and sweating a LOT!!!
So maybe its some of that too!

So tell me is this your 1st time on Phen and how long do you plan to stay on it!??

What is more important your skin or your health? You can always cover it up with tons of makeup on your wedding day. I have always had acne, throughout my life and I have had no problems, since taking Phentermine. In fact, my skin seems to look better, but that may be due to the birth control pill I started last month. Who knows? I was also very scared to take Phen. I started taking it once and gave up because of the side effects. I felt very anxious. This time I told myself that my health is more important to me. I work at a medical office that deals mostly with obese and overweight people. One of our patients died of heart failure (right in front of me), due to many illnesses which could have been helped or eliminated if he had just lost weight. It scared the heck out me. I decided I had to lose weight no matter what. The really irritating side effects are starting to go away (anxiety, rapid heart rate, insomnia). Keep going to your doctor and tell him all of your concerns. Maybe he can suggest some alternatives. My suggestion is to keep taking it and hopefully your acne will go away soon. Give your body time to adjust to the medicine and get used to it. Good luck.

I started breaking out about 2 weeks into taking phen. I haven't had pimples in years so it seemed odd.

Hi Claudp82, I too break out but only after I exercise. I use Proactiv and it really does work, if you use it everyday you will see results pretty quick. My face cleared up after a week of using it.
