I have been on phenedrine for 6 days now. I have been noticing a slight numbness in my left arm and an occasional racing heartbeat. I have actually had an ambulance come to my house I thought i was having a stroke. they checked me out and said my vitals were elevated but that i was not at risk for a heart attack or stroke. i have lost 11 pounds since Aug. 4th, and would very much like to stay on the pill. has anyone had this side effect and did it go away?

i had the racing heartbeat on the start but not the arm numbness. for me, the racing heartbeat has eased up. I've been on it for about 6 wks now. If it keeps up, you might want to see your doctor.
hope you feel better.

if you are having a racing heartbeat/chest pain and numbness in your left arm, this is indication of a heart attack or possibly some sort of heart damage. I work as a nursing assistant, and this is one of the major things we look for at my job, because not everyone knows that the main heart flow is to the left side of your body, therefore causing the left arm numbness... it may be different in your case, but I would definately check up with your doctor to get some tests performed, just to double check that there is no valve damage of any kind.. hope it all works out for you!
