I just began taking Phentermine on June 12, 2009. My doctor prescribed 15 mg pills twice a day along with a multivitamin. His recommendation was that I take the pill at 10 a.m. and then again at 4:00 p.m. However, after reading that many people have trouble sleeping, I decided to take it earlier in the day 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. He also gave me a 1,000 calorie diet to follow, but I find myself feeling starved througout the day, especially at night. Will the Phentermine eventually work to deter my hunger and if so how long should it take? I have also been feeling anxious, but expected this side effect as I understand it is a very common one that I hope will also gradually get better as I get used to the Phen. Any feedback would be very encouraging, thank you! :) I am so excited to lose the weight and just feel good again!

I just started Phen on June 14th and I noticed a loss in appetite right away. I was surprised b/c this month they only put me on 15 mg once a day. The only time I really have to hold myself back from eating is at night before bed. I'm sure the cravings will subside. Good Luck with the weight loss!

If your feeling hungry I would advise upping your calories to 1200 a day, also make sure your eating every 2 hours. How much protein are you getting in your day? I need approx 120 grams a day at my weight, activity level, and age. Protein is a key component in our diets, it helps give us energy, keeps us full longer, and feeds our muscles so we burn fat. Also are you drinking half your weight in oz of water a day? Sometimes our bodies mistake hunger for thirst, if you feel like your hungry but shouldnt be, drink a bottle of water and see if your still hungry afterwards. Also are you taking phen 2 hours before or after eating? If you take it too early before or after eating it may not be absorbing into your stomach correctly..Your stomach should be empty. If you still get hungry after trying all of this, try doing as your doctor recommended and take it later in the day...make sure your eating a good protein filled breakfast and lunch..this sets your whole day up to not be hungry, if you skimp on your fiber and protein through the day you will be more hungry at night. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
