Tons of side effects!

Hello :)

My name is Brittany and I'm new to Phentermine. I did alot of research before starting this weight-loss drug and have finally decided to start it today. My doctor prescribed me 37.5mg tablets once a day. I took it at about 8am this morning and 20 minutes after I've had loads of side effects. I had a pretty bad headache and felt groggy earlier in the day but the drug definitely has supressed my appetite..Later in the evening my heart started racing and hasn't really stopped, not to mention I can't sleep.

I'm going to go to my PCP tomorrow.. If everything checks out okay, I will just start doing 1/2 a pill early in the morning.

Did anyone have any similar side effects? Thank you

i also take 37.5, and when i first started my mouth was extrememly dry, i couldnt sleep, i did not want to eat and my heart did speed up quiet a bit. the insomina subsided in 3 days for me, i still have dry mouth, and i figured out that y lowering my sodium intake it kept my heart rate from speeding up so much!!! also i have noticed that this pill makes my very irratable now! other than that ive been on it for 3 weeks and the complete loss of appitite will start to decrease a little in about a week... you wont be hungry but the thought of food will no longer sound appaling your body just needs to ajust..... as for the heart thing i would wait before you start to only take half a pill until you are sure you only need a half unless you think your body is in danger!!! if you need anything else i can help with just send me a msg!!! talk to you later and GOOD LUCK, ~BR!TT@NY~

Hi Brittannettez. I got a horrible headache yesterday morning, but I usually have them when mold is high in the air. I took some Motrin and it went away quickly. The dry mouth is constant, but drinking water is good for me. I have not had any racing heartbeats. I take only half at a time.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Phen effects everyone differently, but what you have described are all know side effects of it. The best thing for the head aches is drinking water. You usually get a headache if you don't drink enough. The other side effects usually go away within a week or two. If you are getting hungry later in the day, try taking the phen later in the morning. Also, you can take half in the morning and the other half at noon. It seems to work best when taken on an empty stomach. Don't eat for 2 hours before you take it, or wait 2 hours after you take it to eat. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
