Okay.....

When I first started phen I was barely getting into my size 10s. If I am honest, I was in a 12.

I weighed myself on the scales at my current YMCA with shoes on yesterday and I was surprised to see 158. These scales are not very reliable and weight me about 4 pounds heavier than the scales at another YMCA that I go to. I'm not sure what my weight is exactly and I won't weigh myself until April 10.

However, I am reporting that I am getting into my crazy Oilily clothing! This is a high-end Dutch Design House where a sweater is normally around $300. I was able to purchase a TON of this stuff between 2 and 4 years ago because I was small and I could get them sale....small sizes are normally the only ones that end up on sale in this brand.

I put on two of the skirts that I could not even get over my hips in late January 09.
NOW they are big! They are a size 38 or UK-10, they measure size 6 US! I wore these skirts two to three years ago when I was a size four..they are almost fitting the same! OH MY GOSH! THANK YOU GOD!!! I'm so unbelievably greatful. I can wear my closet of high end designer clothing! :D

I am so sorry that I am blabbling...but I am in absolute shock. My size 6s are too big?? What the heck????

With all of the stress happening in my life, this is a most welcomed pleasant surprise. I'm so happy I'm about ready to cry!

Thought I'd share....

THANK YOU FOR BEING SO SUPPORTIVE....EVERYONE!!!

GOSH GUYS, I"M ALMOST THERE! Maybe another 10 to 12 pounds....maybe!

With kindest regards!!!!

Marie

You Rawk!!!!!

That is really awesome. I got rid of all my old fav clothes over the years. If it didn't fit it was clutter. So I'll need to buy all new clothes if this weightloss endevor pays off.

Love your new picture Elementeach! I can always count on you to be so wonderful. Don't be jealous! Good grief. I don't think anyone would be jealous if they saw me sweating like a PIG at the Y!;)

I'm still in shock. I'm in shock.

Do you know what I did different?

I stayed off the freaking scales for the last couple of weeks.
Cut out anything processed, in a can, bag or box-expect progressio chicken broth for soup.
No milk-soy and almond milk instead
No wheat, corn, sugar, rice, pasta or rice-I have great recipes to sub all of that stuff to make baked good.
No bananas, carrots or brocolli.

That's all...nothing else...that's all I did...can you believe that?????
I've even had a couple of glasses of wine.

Go figure...Oh MY GOSH....it's not possible. Really? When did this happen?

I knew that this lifestyle of organic, all homemade, no processed stuff would work; I've done it in 1998 2004 and NOW again.....I'm in shock. Absolute shock.....

I'm telling you girls...If I can do this ANYONE CAN. I have the most addictive personality of anyone I've ever met. :o

Wow, that's so great! I'm so happy for you, but a little jealous too! LOL! I'm sitting at 142 and 6's are STILL tight on me...no way could I squeeze into a 4! What's up with that?? Starting to think I'd have to weigh like 100 lbs to get into a Sz that low. IDK, maybe it's my height??? BUT....I'm VERY happy to say that all the resistance training is REALLY making a difference in shrinking my thighs and seemingly my hips...I guess I'll know for sure when I go back to the Dr next week and get measured again. It definitely seems like my saddle bags are just about gone. But I'm very, very happy for you! You deserve it and I know you have worked really hard!!!

Doesn't it feel great!! i have a box of clothes that im dying to get back into... as soon as I do I'll finally be wearing "nice" clothes again!!!!

I have been following your diet and I think it really forces you into substantial weight loss!!

Question: do you ever crave any carbs, if so what do you substitute with?

I really think it's the extra weight lifting and that silly little bike, Lorri. It makes me crazy and it bores the heck out of me, but I am getting through a couple of books. I go 16 miles an hour for 65 minutes at level 10. My G.P. told me that I needed to get off the tread mill and ellipticals because my boobs were going to hit the ground. So I started that silly little bike.

My friend...I am a small person. YOU ARE TALL. I also am a member of the "Dense Dutch Club". We weight more than we look and I also think that weight lifting makes the density worse. So my weight might be at 158 or less...but I wear sizes that most people do at 140-135.

Stength training will widdle you down. I really believe that.

I think it's your height. I have no excuse about big bones. I am small framed...period.

Oh thanks......Yes and you will get into your box of clothes.

I follow the 1973 Atkins diet. I do cheat with white onions, bell peppers and coffee.
I've lost enormous amounts of weight NOW three times on this diet. 1998-70 pounds, 2004-60+ pounds and now...probably 20 pounds in 6 weeks.

Because it's a clean diet, I have lost all of my carb cravings expect for pms  the curse!

I make whey powder pancakes, muffins or cookies.

Whey powder pancakes are sooo easy...
1 c whey powder
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 egg

Mix them together just like you would any pancake mix.
yield two BIG servings 250 calories each, 5 carbs, I think it was like 29 grams of protein. I think that I posted this on the recipe exchange board.

People have a very big misconception about the Atkins Lifestyle. I know it's a lifestyle I can keep. I just have to get rid of all of the junk. It's not hard to keep it, you learn to substitute things. It's also time consuming, everything has to be made from fresh...I eliminate NO food group. Sorry, I'm already feeling defensive about it and no one has attacked me yet. :(:o

Good, I'm glad that you found it. That's the one that Dr. Atkins wrote..he did not write the Dr Atkins New Revolution. A corporation purchased his name and his products and changed the diet right after his death. The corporatation is geared towards selling the premade food so they adjusted the diet to appeal to the masses. That diet doesn't work...you might as well calories.

I really wish you well! I promise that you will be able to achieve your goals. You will be absolutely surprised. I have three friends that lost over 60 pounds on that diet, too. One friend lost over 120 pounds on the Atkins. They all have kept if off since 1999!

I'm no expert but pm me if you have any questions.
PLEASE let me know how it goes.

Thanks! You've dropped almost 27 pound in like...7 weeks or something. I'm jealous because you are at the weight that I want to be at.

Gosh that's just so good. I am praying for the next 6-10 to come off in the next couple of weeks.

This has been really hard work, but I'm committed..like you said those small sizes sales are just excellent.
Now I'm waiting for it to warm up here so we can spend more time outside.

Thanks for the support.
